Web Forms :: Sitemap Doesn't Show The Child Node

Jan 24, 2010

I create a site map for my site but it only works three levels deep and I need at least six. How can I do that? Every time I add a child node under "Water Filters, Desalinators or Micropur" the sitemap doesn't show the child node. Until now my sitemap only works three levels deep: Home > Products > Water Filters But I need this: Home > Products > Water Filters > Katadyn > Personal Use > Pocket Turbo 1. This is my sitemap configuration:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<siteMap xmlns=[URL] >
<siteMapNode url="~/default.aspx" title="Home">
<siteMapNode url="~/products.aspx" title="Products">
<siteMapNode url="~/waterfiltes.aspx" title="Water Filters" />
<siteMapNode url="~/desalinators.aspx" title="Desalinators" />
<siteMapNode url="~/micropur.aspx" title="Micropur" />
</siteMapNode>
<siteMapNode url="~/services.aspx" title="Services" />
<siteMapNode url="~/partners.aspx" title="Partners" />
<siteMapNode url="~/aboutus.aspx" title="About Us" />
<siteMapNode url="~/contact.aspx" title="Contact Us" />
</siteMapNode>
</siteMap>

Web Forms :: Inserting Code Into Masterpage Tag From Child Page?

Feb 14, 2011

I have a some javascript code that I only want to run in one child page but it needs to be in the head tag to function correctly.

<script type='text/javascript' src=[URL] ></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src=[URL]></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='lightview/lightview.js'></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="lightview/lightview.css" />
end code

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I cannot put it straight into the master page as it conflict with some other javascript code that I am running on a different page! And I cannot put it into the body of the child page because it does not function correctly.

Web Forms :: Expand A Particular Node On Treeview

Jun 22, 2010

What I am acheiving is a simple treeview which will have a tree structure

dir1
-- xx
dir2
Simple stuff !. Here is the code

TreeNode tree1 = new TreeNode("dir1", "", "", "dir1", "");
tree.Nodes.Add(tree1);
TreeNode node = new TreeNode("xx", "xx");
tree1.ChildNodes.Add(node);
TreeNode tree2 = new TreeNode("dir2", "", "", "dir2", "");
tree.Nodes.Add(tree2);

Now I want to do is collapse all the tree and find a particular node e.g dir1xx
I have put the code

tree.CollapseAll();
tree.FindNode("dir1").Select(); <-- falls over
tree.FindNode("dir1").Expand();
tree.FindNode("dir1/xx").Select();
tree.FindNode("dir1/xx").Expand();

but it falls over on the 2nd line with object not set

VS 2010 Populate Child Node When Parent Node Is Selected

Oct 16, 2012

I'm populating a treeview dynamically. On OnTreeNodePopulate I call a sub and populate the Parent nodes. I do not want to populate the child nodes at this time. Upto this point it works fine.

Now I would like the user to click the parent node and then populate the child node. I tried to use TreeNodeExpanded, but that is called for each parent node, so that didn't work.

I would like to know how I can also click the node text to achieve the same results.

I want to be able to click the node text to expand/collapse the node.

How can I do this in ASP.NET/C# ?

Web Forms :: TreeView Expand/collapse Images Aren't Aligned With Node Text

Jul 16, 2010

I've built a TreeView in ASP.NET 3.5 and it works great, except the expand and collapse images (which are 20px by 20px) do not align properly with the text in the nodes. Below is a screen shot of the applicable tree, with all items selected to allow you to see where the items are lined up. I need the text to be vertically centered (by one means or another) so it lines up with the center of its expand/collapse image.

I've tried numerous tricks to make this happen, including CSS, but can't seem to find the right technique.

Web Forms :: Hide A Certain Child Node Only?

Jan 28, 2010

On our site we have a top menu, and a side menu. Other than using the same sitemap, they don't have any other relationship.

On the top menu, we only show the top links, with 0 child nodes, which is what we want.

On the side menu however, we want to show all the child pages when someone hovers over the main links. Some have up to 12 child nodes, and some only 1.

Our challenge is hiding a couple of specific pages from that menu.

An example is a "thanks for contacting us" page which is under the main "contact us" page. Otherwise, a person can hover over the contact page link and see the "thanks" page as a link - and we don't want people going directly to the thanks page. So, we want just "Contact" to show in that menu, no matter where a visitor is in the site.

I have tried a couple of solutions but they haven't worked. Is there an easier way to hide them?

Web Forms :: Check If Child Node Exists On Treeview?

Jan 24, 2011

I have some data that I am putting on a treeview and have a checkbox on the page to decide if the user wants to order the nodes by date or type.

To do this I need to check if the code has already added a child node so when grouping by the type I don't put it in lots of times.

Lets say I have Type 1 and Type 2 and each have 3 items that would fall under these I want to achieve:

Type 1
Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
Type 2
Item 1
Item 2
Item 3

Instead of:

Type 1
Item 1
Type 1
Item 2

etc etc etc

I tried using the node.Contains function but it doesn't seem to exist (I am using c#).

Web Forms :: Accessing Methods In A Parent Masterpage From Child?

Jul 26, 2010

I have a main MasterPage that, as intended, forms the entire layout of my site. It has a bunch of methods common to all pages that use the mastertype, such as EnsureLoggedIn and such.

I want to move on to using nested masterpages to open up better layout options in some of the pages, but I am running into an issue. I get the layout of the nested masterpages fine, but I cannot access any methods in the parent masterpage.

I know my explanation seems a little sparse; I'm not exactly sure how to word what I'm looking for, heh. But here's a short example:

Expand TreeView Node By Clicking Its Text Instead Of "+/-"

Jan 12, 2011

I've been using hardcoded hyperlinks for my web app navigation, but the app has grown since and managing it is becoming a real pain. I've decided to replace what I have with the TreeView control, however I want to make several changes to the way it looks. Is there any property that needs to be set, that would allow user to expand the TreeView node by clicking its text instead of +/- ? I've already set ShowExpandColapse to 'false'. I want my final result to end up as something similar to the TreeView on the left of the MSDN site.

Web Forms :: Changing MasterPage Disables Child Page ImageButtons

Feb 2, 2010

I have a ASP.NET C# 3.5 web application, where I am changing the masterpage & theme for certain pages that have ASP.NET controls. The problem is that when the masterpage/theme is changed, the ASP.NET ImageButtons on the child page cease to function altogether and show up as normal images. The html source for that page would show a disabled="disabled" field added to the ImageButtons at runtime. All other controls including ASP.NET Buttons work fine, only ImageButtons are effected. I've changed masterpages in files many times and have not come across this problem, probably because I rarely use ImageButtons. I'm beginning to think it may be a bug in .NET itself, but it could be code related. I've also executed a javascript function after
load to set the disabled field to "enabled", which has no effect on the ImageButton but the source confirms it is enabled. The MasterPages / Child Pages are relatively straight forward and I've tried many different combinations to get it working. I'm changing the masterpage & theme via a function like:

public static void ChangeMaster(System.Web.UI.Page page)
{
page.MasterPageFile = "~/GX.Master";
page.Theme = null;
}
