Got a windows forms user control dll embedded in an asp page using the html form control object tag as it needs to run client side. The windows form control does something and then needs to redirect to a another aspx page passing a parameter obtained from a calculation in the windows form contro dll. Is the redirect possible from the windows form control (same session id needs to be used) since obviously you can't call response.redirect since its not part of the server side wep page.

My Windows Form Control is working fine when hosted on Windows Form.It is also working fine on .html host if I use only a TextBox and a Button in that control. But when I add a third control i.e. WebBrowser Windows Form control then .html page is not displaying the control at all.Later I remove the WebBrowser Windows Form control to go to previous state and even then .html page is not displaying the control as it was displaying a TextBox and a Button control before.I delete browser history but no use. I am using the following line in my html page.

I'm using a ASP.NET Web Form to capture information from a user and then email the results to me. This is working well.
The problem is, that the SMTP Relay Server I am using from my ISP seems to be a bit slow so once I hit SEND on the form, it seems to take a little longer than average before sending the user through to the "Thank-You" page.
To counter-act the long wait time, I would like to add a little bit of code that will display on the Web Form once the user clicks the send button, but before the data is actually sent or they are forwarded on to the thank-you page.
Right now in my file.aspx.vb I have:

This works perfectly fine when I run the project in VS.Net by pressing F5 ie by using VS.Net inbuilt web server. However problem arises when I try to run the same project by creating a virtual directory and calling through localhost.
I'm trying to programmatically add a user control to an aspx page.
the problem is that any postback that happens on the page(even if i added the user control to an updatepanel) clears the user control from the page.
this happens also if the postback is generated from the user control itself.
I have an asp.net project, and I load a base aspx page to display to the user. Then I ajax in the results of an ascx component and inject it via innerHTML in javascript. I have noticed that the ascx component loads slowly on the first page load, but instantly thereafter. This is really cool, but I do not understand how this can be cached, as the contents are generated by making several db calls. Does the server send some kind of hash to compare the contents to, to see if it changed on the server or not? Is this a browser thing or an asp.net thing?

There is one user control say uControl.ascx. This has a public property Message. There are 2 aspx pages Default.aspx and Home.aspx which has the user control uControl.ascx. When a sumit button from Default.aspx is clicked some action takes place and the value for Message is set and then execution is redirected to Home.aspx. In Home.aspx the value for Message is lost.
Is there anyways that the value of Message is retained for both the aspx pages?
I have a need to improve the asthetics of the standard buttons .net churns out. I am fully aware of how to do this using css but I can only really style the button if I add a span element inside the button. Luckily the link button allows this so I have got the following which for usability i have put inside a user control.

I have exposed elements so that I can set values from within my aspx.cs page, these are text, command name, command argument, ccc class etc.
As it is a generic control, I have added OnCommand='Button_Click" which fires the event in the control itself. The Button_Click event calls a method ButtonControls passing associated command name and arguments across. ButtonControls uses the name to call the appropriate function.
As these are all very generic buttons, so far so good, but I have a need to trigger button events that may not be generic i.e on a control I have buttons that do something very specific to that control. I also have a requirement to call functions which relate to specific controls on the aspx page. I have created a user control which encapsulates the link button control.

sometimes I don't want to call Button_Click just an event on the aspx page itself rather than my generic button handler.

I have a Web User Control that is sitting in a Tabcontainer on a web page. The user control is on tab 1 and has a listview control in it. In the listview control I have a textbox called txtWorkOrderID. In tab 2 I have a gridview with a button in one of the columns. When the button is clicked I want to grab the ID from the row I'm on and fill the txtWorkOrderID with it on tab 1. I've got things to work as far as grabing the ID and switching back to tab 1, but I keep getting a null reference when I try to put the value into the txtWorkOrderID which tells me its not finding the control. There is a remove button in user control which is used to remove the control from the aspx page. Clicking any button (1 or 2) below works correct as it goes to the correct c# button click event in the code behind file. If I press enter on fields a or b it goes to the correct callback (button1's) if I press enter on field c it still goes to button1's callback, not button2's
How can I give my web user control a nice self contained for and view state etc, so it wont mess with the remainder of the page's form?

The goal, from internal department (user) perspective:A department wants to "upload" an excel spreadsheet of data (product, term, rate, etc) to SQL (this will be from the internal network). The data is then saved to a webpage location for that department to view and approve. Once "approved," this data is displayed on the live web servers (public-facing website which is two load balancing servers).
Bonus:
The .NET application/SQL Server can send an email to the department reminding them to upload the latest rates (each weekday morning, then each Thursday afternoon) if rates have not yet been "approved."
From the development perspective, this is my general idea, but I may be wrong.There are three spreadsheets, each with one tab. The first spreadsheet is uploaded, and the .NET application puts it in a SQL table. I then need to display this table of data on a .aspx page for the department to approve before the .aspx page is pushed to the live web servers.
First, I need an interface for this department to upload Excel files. I need this application to save the data to SQL and display it in a .aspx page so that the department can look it over and approve it. I want to display my validation error messages in the MessageBox. I have Four TextBoxes and One Button control. When I click the Button Control, the TextBoxes without the text to be shown in the MessageBox. I have almost done this, but the problem is When I click the Button, the MessageBox is opened as a minimized window. So it is difficult for the end user to realize. I want to display the MessageBox to the user when button clicks.
