I was wondering how about may I save the selection of the checked items of a dynamically created CheckBoxList?On postback the entire checkboxlist is lost. As the CheckboxList items are manually added in and not databinded, the selection is also lost.I was thinking of javascript, but i'm not sure how to implement it.

m new to .NET. I'm trying to create a button dynamically with event by original button. The original button's click event response creates a button. The new button has a click event attached with a test message.What I have to do is onclick change background color of dynamically created button and grab id value to delete when button delete is clicked. Unfortunately, when I click the dynamically attached button,
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">

i created a gridview with two columns and 8 rows dynamically. All the rows are empty and editable at runtime. I am giving column names for this grid from some other .aspx page by passing column names using querystring.Because i am using this grid for three different pairs of column names. i would like to know how to apply Required Field Validator, Regular Expression Validator and Range Validator on Gridview textboxes. So that by using those validators i want to validate user inputs. And i would also like to know how to add rows at runtime for this grid.
I am using ASP.net 2.0 and C#.net for this.(Visual Studio 2005)
The code i am using to create gridview is below.

I'm maintaining a dynamically generated table in ASP.NET, which allows users to move items up and down in the table. What this essentially does behind the scenes is just swaps around the 'sortorder' which the table is sorted by. I have checks to see if a row is the first/last column, and if so only display up/down (whatever's relevant). An issue has crept up now and I have no idea why. For some reason, most of the time (not all of the time strangely) the up and down buttons don't work. Using 'Up' as an example, the current record does get set to the 'above' rows sortorder, but the 'above' row doesn't take the below rows sort order. Now I've set my breakpoints throughout my code, and strangely everything gets set fine. It's just when I call SubmitChanges() to the LINQ data context, that it seems to put the wrong value into the database. Also what's strange is that I think that if you click it again, it actually works. But it doesn't work properly as the number is still out by a bit.
Here's my code:
if (Request.QueryString["dir"] != null) {
if (Request.QueryString["dir"] == "up") {
var currentrecordup = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems
where Request.QueryString["val"] == s.id.ToString()
select s).Single();
int valsortidup = (int)currentrecordup.sortorder;
var prevrecordup = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems
where s.sortorder < valsortidup
orderby s.sortorder descending select s).First();
int prevsortidup = (int)prevrecordup.sortorder; int tempval = valsortidup;
currentrecordup.sortorder = prevsortidup; prevrecordup.sortorder = tempval; }
else if (Request.QueryString["dir"] == "down") {
var currentrecorddown = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems
where Request.QueryString["val"] == s.id.ToString()
select s).Single(); int valsortiddown = (int)currentrecorddown.sortorder;
var nextrecorddown = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems where s.sortorder > valsortiddown
orderby s.sortorder ascending select s).First();
int nextsortiddown = (int)nextrecorddown.sortorder; int tempvaldown = valsortiddown;
currentrecorddown.sortorder = nextsortiddown; nextrecorddown.sortorder = tempvaldown;}
dc.SubmitChanges(); Response.Redirect("EditInvoice.aspx?id=" + Request.QueryString["id"]);
}
The sortorder column in my table is an int field that allows nulls.

I'm creating an quiz application which queries the database and extracts the questions and choices. I use dynamically created controls such as a checkbox list and fill the values dynamically. How do I do this? Right now I have these functions:
array_random_init(); this creates a 10 element integer array from 1-20 - extract_question(i): this extracts a question indexed at i in DB, I created the controls and set the appropriate text in this function. - validate_question(i); this is called by button_click and validates the question i according to DB.
I understand I have to recreate the controls in Page_init on postback, but what should it look like? Do I need to add "if IsPostBack" in page_init, or do I create the controls in page_init() and reset their properties in page_load when I use extract_question(i)? Also, I cannot seem to clear the selected boxes on postback, I added page directive "enableviewstate=false" but it doesn't work.

I have a website that sales associates access to view account information with clients. S.A's can only view information for accounts that they are tied to. Some clients have more than one account, S.A's can be tied to more than one account, but not all accounts of one client need to be tied to one S.A.
On the account info pages, I have account numbers (dynamically displayed labels) displayed of other accounts that the account client is associated with, which the S.A's can see. I'm modding this so that if the S.A has viewing permissions of any of the other accounts on that list of accounts, that instead of a label being displayed, a button directing them to that account page will display instead. In order for this to work, I have to attach a security function to the button, otherwise the page will blow out on the S.A's.
So I'm running a piece that is displaying a button instead of a label, which is working fine. My problem is when I try to attach the security event to the dynamically displayed buttons. It seems that the page just posts back and doesn't execute my code at all.
On my Page_Load, I'm running this after the buttons and labels are displayed:
For x = 0 to tblAccountList.Rows.Count - 1
'use a try to target the button, use catch to handle if it's instead a label, only one cell per row.
Try
Dim accountLink as Button = tblAccountList.Rows(x).Controls(0)
Addhandler accountLink.Click, AddressOf Me.PermissionViewCheck
Catch ex as InvalidCastException
Continue For
End Try
Next
I don't have any code checking for postbacks or anything like that, but the "PermissionViewCheck" event never fires and just reposts the page.

I'm trying to do a validation for checkboxlist on a server side as all java approaches didn't work. However, probably due to the checklistbox is inside a listview the FindControl is empty. how to find a control inside a listview on a button click event when the button is outside of the listview.
<asp:CustomValidator
ID="rfchblAnswers"
runat="server"
ErrorMessage="* Please, select at least a one checkbox."
OnServerValidate="cblCustomValidator"
EnableClientScript="false"
ValidationGroup="EnterData"
Display=
"Dynamic" />
Public
Sub cblCustomValidator(ByVal objSource
As Object,
ByVal objArgs As ServerValidateEventArgs)
Dim chblAnswers As CheckBoxList = _
CType(lv_qstns.FindControl("chblAnswers"), CheckBoxList)
If CType(lv_qstns.FindControl("chblAnswers"), CheckBoxList)
IsNot Nothing
Then 'it's not working here as it cannot find the control inside a listview
Dim boolFlag As
Boolean = False
For Each li
As ListItem In chblAnswers.Items
If li.Selected Then
boolFlag = True
End If
Next
If boolFlag Then
objArgs.IsValid = True
Else
objArgs.IsValid = False
End If
End If
End Sub

I have a form with 2 sections. The first one contains some radio buttons. The second one contains a checkboxlist. When we change the selected radio button then it modifies the elements in the checkboxlist. For this I setted the radio buttons with autopostback, and in the code behind (in OnLoad) I populate the CheckBoxList depending on the selected radio button.
This work fine.
The problem is that I also have a button at the end of my form which post the data of my form in another page (with PostBackUrl). Then in that page I would like to retrieve the values of the checked checkbox. But I can't find how to do that. In the Request.Form I don't see anything.
I searched on the web but I didn't found really a solution.

On our site, I use the category (in Russian) in the querystring. E.g.: [URL] (I notice the link is not clickable here, you need to copy the entire link to view the result) If you paste this link in IE8, it is translated to cat=???? and it does not work If I paste it in FireFox, it works. It gets even more weird: the same URL is reachable from the homepage, and if I click the same URL in IE8 from the homepage it works fine (unless I click open in a new tab, that it is back to ????). I am using ASP.NET 3.5(C#)

I'm trying to get my site to play a flash video the first time, and only the first time, a user visits the site. Currently, I'm using ASP session tags to install a sessionid cookie into the users browsers.
<% Session("name")="blah"
Session.Timeout=7
%>
This method works fine in FF and Chrome, but IE8 doesn't seem to want to accept the cookie. I've tested it with IE's lowest security settings possible ("Accept all cookies"), but it still does not create any cookie. Is there any other way to make it so that all browsers will take the cookie?
