i have people inserting inconsistent links in the database. seems like almost all links they enter have '#' surrounding the link. for example:
a typical bad link is:
HB09-1091#http://www.leg.state.co.us/Clics/CLICS2009A/csl.nsf/fsbillcont3/8CA7AA87F3BED22D8725753700718548?Open&file=1091_01.pdf#
how do i format this to be like the following, i need to only get the URL that's between the '#':
http://www.leg.state.co.us/Clics/CLICS2009A/csl.nsf/fsbillcont3/8CA7AA87F3BED22D8725753700718548?Open&file=1091_01.pdf
i need to only get the URL that is between the '#'s

In my code below, I'm trying to re-write a string and convert and http text into actual web links.
It doesn't seem to be working and I think the problem may be that I'm rewriting the string and inserting another http string into the original string which then causes problems with the loop.

I'm using ASP .NET C# 3.5. I have a multiline textbox on my web form that allows for the input of up to 5,000 characters from the end-user. This text is a basic description of a training course. I need to display it out in a clearly formatted way. For example, I need there to be bullets and bold text.
What I did was I chose certain (not often used) characters and then used the .Replace method when displaying the text in an <asp:Label>. If the text in the database contains the character '~' then I replace that with a line break <br />. If it contains '`' I replace that with <b> and if it contains '^' I replace that with </b>.
Is there a better way of doing this? It is working properly, and I'm displaying the text properly, but I know the end-user is going to hate typing text like this for formatting. I do want this all to stay database driven as well

I hope I can explain myself properly. What i'd like to do is be able to add a Search form where users can search various criteria based on my Orders table. I was hoping to add the capability to click on one of the OrderID's to display the fields from the Orders in the various text boxes on my form. This would allow the users to search, and update all in the same page. I have the data retrieval portion down pat, but am not really sure how to give them useful links. Is this possible? Or is there a better approach that I could take?

I have a test server link called http://en-test/application_report (this is just a sample example). The link is associated for when the application is placed on the test server
now if the application is placed on the production server, then it is[URL]. What i would like to do is to determine the link and if it is the test server then use the test database which is testdb and if it is the production server then use the production database which is proddb.

I have users input links (like file paths and web pages links) to a database via a form. When they put file paths (e.g C:Program Files...) it stores them properly.However, I have a page in my application that pulls the links from the database so that the user can click on those links. For links which include spaces (like the one I just used as an example) it replaces the space with %20 ... This messes up my link and it doesn't work. How can I fix this?-I number records that are saved into my database in a specific way. I have an ID for each record which is a two digit number. For number that are low (1-9) I would like it to display as 01, 02, 03, etc. But if I save it in that form into the database, it goes from 01 to 1.How can I fix this? Users need to see it as 01, 02, etc...

On UI Ajax calendar control is used to allow the user Expiry Date as shown below. As this is one of the controls in search, when the Search button is pressed using SQL statement (copied below) data is retrieved from ExpiryDate column of the table. The table creator declared the column type as string and the dates are saved as single digits(Example: 2/2/10 sometimes and sometime as double digits (Example: 02/02/10) I like to know the best practice in retrieving both type of strings from database table. I would like to create a database where users can search for multiple fields. For example: if the record is personal details info like name, address, phone number and email id i would like to generate link for this automatically with the fields using stored procedure.. Is that possible.? If so can anybody provide me with the line of code or guideline on how to do that?

I am having problem redirecting error when error is http 500 or http 403 locally running this site there is no problem it gets redirected to my errorpage.aspx. But when deployed at server, it does not get .tried putting try and catch in page_load and in global.asax and I have set Application_Error to redirect to that page and also set <customErrors defaultRedirect to that page also

The thinking behind the question is that my image current reads it's data from a custom httphandler that gets the image from the database. I want to be able to use a file upload control to "post" a replacement file back to a "write" handler, updating the database. Then I can refresh my image using javascript to the original "read" handler. Is this possible?
I currently have a standard postback model upload process which puts the image into the database and a custom handler to read it back. What I want to know, is can you create a custom http handler to perform the upload so I could asynchronously call the upload handler then refresh the image src to pull it back from the database. At the moment I am using the IFrame approach to make it appear asynchronous, I just want to know the best practice really

Background:
We are using the Facebook API and receive back URLs for profile image thumbnails. Unfortunately the protocol is restricted to just HTTP and it doesn't support HTTPS. The page on our site that hosts the thumbnails is always delivered via HTTPS, and if we use HTTP for the thumbnails the user will receive security warnings from their browser.
Solution:
Build an HTTP Handler that "passes through" the image from the Facebook URL, but allow the handler to be called via HTTPS. Before I started coding I thought I could something like this:
Response.OutputStream = WebRequest.Create(FacebookUrlForThumbnail)
but I ended up having to save the image to an object in memory than write the image to the Response.OutputStream using the image save function.

This seems inefficient but I can't find a way of using the HTTP Handler as I orginally intended. Is there way of accomplishing the goal without creating the image memory and just "passing through" the call?

I have a server page generating a PDF file on the fly. I am currently submitting it to the client with a binarywrite. I would like to submit it formatted with the following "Adobe" options:
pagemode=thumbs
view=Fit
Is there any way to do this with a BinaryWrite? Or any way to do this in Javascript?

I've created an application (created with VS 2008) to access my oracle database(10g). I have Abyss Web Server. Once I got the server setup, I tested using a simple html page and it worked. I then tried to use my application. It did not work. At first I assumed it had to do with oracle. I ruled out that assumption when I created another page with a linkbutton and a hyperlink. These show up but I can't click on them. At one if I viewed it in IE, it would just show the source code for the page; for firefox, a download dialog came up. Does this have something to do with the application or server?

I am having text formatting problem with Outlook 2007 since it is taking different rendering engine i.e word 2007. In our application, we are sending mails to different clients who have Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007. We have used CSS in our application for formatting.
1. Since I have created Tables and given width in Percentage to every <TD> but while rendering in outlook 2007, every table taking different widths depending on the no. of the columns. Due to this reason, formatting is getting distored. Outlook 2003 shows proper output.
2. In our aspx page, I have created DIV tag with Style attributes having Property as Display:none. But in Outlook 2007, DIV tag is visible. Due to this, unwanted Warning messages also getting displayed in the outlook 2007.
