I've created an application (created with VS 2008) to access my oracle database(10g). I have Abyss Web Server. Once I got the server setup, I tested using a simple html page and it worked. I then tried to use my application. It did not work. At first I assumed it had to do with oracle. I ruled out that assumption when I created another page with a linkbutton and a hyperlink. These show up but I can't click on them. At one if I viewed it in IE, it would just show the source code for the page; for firefox, a download dialog came up. Does this have something to do with the application or server?
Example site: [UL] In the left hand part of the page(refine result pane), how can I produce links/list like that? What control is used in that?? I know it has to use the data queried on the first page.
On any page that uses this masterpage, whether it is in a subfolder or directly at root level with the masterpage, these links don't work in any browser I have except for IE (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari). By that, I mean:
1. When I mouse over them, the cursor doesn't change to a hand.
2. When I click, nothing happens visually.
3. When I click, nothing happens in code. i.e., I set a breakpoint on the click events for the buttons, and they don't get hit.
In IE, everything works as it should.
In addition, I have subnavigation on some of my child pages, implemented the same way, and it works for all browsers.

To get to an individual post, I utilize routing, using this URL format: tp://localhost:55074/WebSite3/2010/9/15/this-is-a-test-post~4. i parse the URL to get the year/month/date of the post, as well as the post title.This works fine.The problem occurs when I go to an individual post.All the links are broken.For example, I have a link at the top that takes you back to default.aspx (in the html, I have the link set up like this: <a href="default.aspx">Home</a>), except that now the link takes me here: http://localhost:55074/WebSite3/2010/9/15/default.aspx.Obviously, there are no 2010, 9, or 15 subdirectories, and default.aspx is in the root directory.Also, when I load an individual post, Request.Url.AbsolutePath returns this: /WebSite3/2010/9/15/this-is-a-test-post~4.

I am creating navigation dropdown links on my masterpage. I've already created functional menu links with .jpeg images. What I want is when I hover over a particular menu link a drop-down of additional links is available. Do I need to use some type of javascript for this or can asp provide this functionality?
I have downloaded the page and I'd like to place all links into the array of strings. I'm not sure how to make the regex work. I can't uncomment the thing either because it balks at the quotes. The idea is to place each link found on the page into list. How would I handle relative links if the link found is ../ or ./? For just ./ that could be changed to / but otherwise you have to map the thing to get a full url. Also each url put into the list has to be the local domain and not an external domain.
I want to use the asp:Calendar control to link to another page that displays relative data based on which day is selected. While I know how to create a datalink for a passed date variable, is it possible to set-up the calendar so that ONLY those days that actually have data associated with the date clickable?
So basically, I want a calendar that has active links for only dates that can be pulled from a datasource. Possible?

I add two more pages test1.aspx and test2.aspx. Now I want:
- These two links are children of "About Us".
- When I click test1.apx or test2.aspx the "About Us" title will be highlighted.

I have a HTML file which I want to load, say in a Label control. This HTML file have a series of unordered list, which acts as a vertical menu links for the various sections of the file.Now, I have no idea whether these links, inside the HTML file, will work if I load it on Label control. Is there any other way of doing this ? I want those links to work when the file gets loaded.
I have a web page that loads in user-defined text from a database field into a label. This text may or may not contain HTML links (standard <a href> tags). I need a way to enumerate through the links and enable/disable certain links based on whether or not the person viewing the page is logged in or not (via a session variable).The html tags include a runat=server attribute and the text is standard formatted HTML. Since the text is being loaded into a label straight from the database, the links aren't loaded into the controls collection for the form - so, I'm not able to reference the links that way.

I need to disable the edit command link if a record has links to other records within the tables.
I have a table that has worktype and that is captured when certain records are entered. So if a record exists with that value, then i want to disable the "Edit" link for that record within my gridview.
I want to provide them access to add more worktypes, but if they want to edit a worktype, i need to make sure its not used anywhere in the other tables, before they can edit it. For now atleast, because i will need to allow full editing and deletion functions for this table. how to do this or maybe suggestions on other things i can do to give them full functionality?
