Web Forms :: Getting Fired Along With RaiseCallbackEvent Which Is Creating Undesireable Results?
Jan 20, 2010
In my web application, i am using a RaiseCallbackEvent which gets fired on form change(to give AutoSave functionality).The problem is, if i have Requied field for 2 or more fields, on firing an event, required filed validation is asked & on entering values, RaiseCallbackEvent fires as there is form change.In this case the last postback event is also getting fired along with RaiseCallbackEvent which is creating undesireable results. Is there any way to stop this? ...

I have a server side control RaiseCallbackEvent implemented. I want to intercept raisecallbackevent after it finished executing RaiseCallbackEvent method in the serverside and want to execute other code in the .aspx template.
1) Is there any pagelife cycle event that fires after RaiseCallbackEvent?
2) Is there any way to fire jquery function after RaiseCallbackEvent from client side?

I have tried various techniques that some seemed to have outlined and so far none of them have worked. I have a situation where the Page_Load() needs to build a set of <input id=<dynamic name'>> that are build dynamically inside a <ul>. The form gets created fine but when I click the button and look at the results returned to the server I cannot seem to find the input values. Is there a defined way of accomplishing this?

I have around 5 SQL queries that are returning datasets to my VB.NET application, the queries could be any number not just 5. I have a listview already on the page and all the queries will return the same exact data types (just different numbers). How can I create a listview in the code behind for each one? Or what would be my other options to load up all the results

Well I'm not familiar with SP's yet, and I can't find a single example of what I want to do. basically I want to retrieve the town & county where the customers id are equal (note there will only ever be 1 result)
I can't figure out how to address the results to be stored within the output variables.

A breakpoint is set on FillForm() and this method is called two times but I can't explain myself why this happens. I have client side javascript code, when the form is being send, the onsubmit method is also called twice... Where do I have to search?! Is it a (known) bug? Think I could get it to work with this Thread: [URL] But why is the event fired within the onblur-event when it's fired anyway??

i was debugging a test page when i noticed that its init and load event handlers are being called twice.
i found out by search that this may arise due to some html tags which im not using in my page,
also some line:
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load,Me.Load
may cause this problem.
i use c# in the code behind aspx, if such line is the problem, in which file should i look for?

In asp.net web form the button click event is not getting fired, the following code is the cause for this issue.
function Showsearch()
{
document.writeln("<form id='s'>");
document.writeln("</form>");
}
explaination for the cause of this issue. Source code..
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm2.aspx.cs" Inherits="Samples.WebForm2" %>

Why is it that the aspx.net system fires all the TextChanged event (for a slider) to a value of 0, when you did not originally set any values?
What I notice happening is, if you do not declare a Slider1.Text = "0" value initially, then when the page_load fires, the control protected void Slider1_TextChanged is fired automatically.

I have this:
<asp:TextBox ID="tbxCustomer" runat="server" Font-Size="X-Small" Width="257px"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:CustomValidator ID="tbxCustomer_RequiredFieldValidator" runat="server" ClientValidationFunction="CheckRequiredField" ControlToValidate="tbxCustomer" EnableClientScript="true" ValidateEmptyText="true" />
So I want my javascript function fired even with empty text, but it doesn't. Is there a workaround or should just use jQuery to do this?

I am building my first user control and am facing the following issue: my host page calls the user control:
protected
void DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender,
EventArgs e)
{
TextBoxRegExValidator1.DataTypeId = DropDownList1.SelectedValue;
}
I pass a string value (1,2,3,etc) via public method called "DataTypeId". The problem is that all the events in the control are fired first so dataTypeId is always null:

I am sure there are many ways to achieve my goal but since I am a beginner I dont know what they are. All I am trying to do is to have a user control TextBox which will work with a Listbox in a host page. The listbox will pass the data(1 - String; 2 - Xml) and so on. Then I change the regular expression in the user control and return that to the form. If there is an easier way to do that or a sample control out there which achieves the same goal.
