I have two web sites. The first (website A) is a plain html website but I also have the ability to write php code. The second (website B) is an asp.net website. I would like the website B to be called only from website A. I don't want someone to call website B just by writting its url. how I can accomplish this task?

When I try to "Add a Web Reference" the editor does not show the webservice methods from the generated namespace. I'm trying to pass information set in a celphone applications Form and pass it to an ASP.Net web page.
The idea is that the parameters will be passed through GET and my app will save it to a database.

I have created a C++ dll. It works fine and does the job. I have created methods in asp.net that call the methods in C++ dll. DLL path is absolute. It works fine too. I then published the website onto a folder and hosted the website on IIS. I get an error message Exception Details: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'FilesCreator.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
View 1 RepliesI have a system set up to lock certain content in a database table so only one user can edit that content at a time. Easy enough and that part is working fine. But now I'm at a road block of how to send a request to "unlock" the content. I have the stored procedure to unlock the content, but how/where would I call it when the user just closes their browser?
View 6 RepliesXP Pro,aspnet 2, IIS, Oracle I have a primary webpage that displays a tab and some summary data. The tab uses an iframe and the summary data is loaded by an async WebMethod call back to C#. The iframe page takes a short while to load depending on how much data is in there (sometimes upto 20 seconds?). The WebMethod call, or at least the content of it, is very fast. BUT, the WebMethod call won't return until basically the iframe has finished loading.
I've verified through Fiddler that the browser is initiating both requests at basically the same time. It's initiating the iframe call first followed immediately by the WebMethod call within the same second. My understanding is that browsers are limited to only two calls at once.
If I set a breakpoint at the end of my WebMethod call (even commenting out ALL it's guts so it just returns an empty string), that breakpoint won't fire until the aspnet page serving up the iframe has finished. Using threads window, I see both calls at the server. I just don't understand why the server won't actually run the Webmethod call until the first call has finished. I've searched the code looking Monitor.Enter, lock, etc to make sure nobody has inserted any other type of blocking code and I can't find anything. I've basically emptied out the WebMethod call and it just returns a string, but no matter what I do, it just won't return as fast as it can. If I comment out the iframe, then the WebMethod call returns within 2 seconds. With the iframe, it "looks" like the the webmethod call won't return until the iframe has finished.
1) Does aspnet only process one request per aspnet session id? Is it FIFO? I figured the webserver would just process requests and return each request as fast as it can.
2) What else can I do to get that summary data to return faster (but not actually loading and putting the data into the very first primary page) ?

How to call Synchronous service call for combo boxes? As I know Synchronous calls do not create a good user experience because the application is hung waiting for the Web service call to return. Then it is my requirement.
View 1 RepliesI have an ActiveX object which extends some functions. I have a web page that loads the ActiveX object and calls its methods in Javascript. The ActiveX object has two method; the problem is that Javascript can successfully call one of them but fails to call the other; citing Object doesn't support this property or method which is nonsense because I made a VB6.0 application that successfully calls this other method, so the two functions are indeed extended correctly and performing their job. And yes, the Internet Explorer security zones are all set and everything, as I wrote above the javascript code can call one method but refuses to call the other.

I have one mobile website using ASP.NET with c# language. The problem which i have rise you that, I have two websites with same domain name, they are Desktop websites and mobile website
1. Desktop websites ->www.****.com -> this is i have used to view full websites in IE,FIREFOX,CHROME,etc...
2.mobile website ->www.****.com -> this is i have used to display mobile website using any mobile devices like iphone, stc, nokia, samsung, etc...
In my mobile website have one button which is for "view full website" . If i click on that from mobile the link which i want to show full website with the same mobile device what devices i have using.
My client gave me this web solution, in it various projects, and the problematic project (for me) is the Web Site.
I've copied the code to test web server (2008) and installed VS 2008 so I could step through the code on the server due to some weirdness.
Anyhow, when I open the solution locally on my personal computer, it runs on Cassini [URL] because I'm not on a server OS. However, when I run the app on the web server, when I hit F5, it runs oh [URL].
When I'm running the code on the server, how do I point the web site to use Cassini?
