View 1 RepliesMy website use master page as template. All my other pages spread in different level folder. Master page will get images (which use related path - related to master page) from style sheet file which located in App_themds's sub folder. When application run,The page will lost all images if the content page did not located in the same level as Master page.
View 3 RepliesI have a master page that has a text box at the top with a couple of words in it. Below that I have a horizontal menu and below that there is the content place holder.I wish to set a default background color on the master page so that each other web page that uses this master page will inherit this background color.How do you do set a background color on the master page?I can't seem to select the background to set a default background color because the controls I have placed already.
View 4 RepliesI need to be able to programmatically determine the doctype of the current page (.aspx), whether its set directly within the page itself, or via a master page.The reason is so I can output correctly formatted html from custom controls or components based on whether the doctype is plain html, xhtml, xml
View 2 RepliesA client of mine uses SharePoint to manage its websites, and recently asked me to build a small website for them using ASP.NET, which they would then implement via SharePoint.My skills with ASP.NET are intermediate, and I have no experience at all with SharePoint.I created a master page for the site, as well as the individual pages, but the client is telling me that they also need a page layout template in order to view and manage the site via SharePoint.
View 1 RepliesI am looking for a master page template that I can use for my site. provide me the code or link from which I can download master page.
View 4 RepliesI have a small part of my page existing on the master page. this small portion is embeded within an update panel that I postback using asynchronus postback. The problem is that; my default.aspx page which uses the master page gets affected (i.e I lost the text in the textboxes) on the asynchronus postback although the update panel doesn't include these textboxes. Is there a solution to ensure that postback only affects this part of the page?
View 5 RepliesI need a way to change the ActiveViewIndex of a multiview control based on some query results. Right now I test to see if I have rows returned from my linq query. If so, set a certain view active. If no rows are returned, I would like to set a different view active. I would like to do this on Page_Load if possible.
Right now I get the fatal "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on page load with it bombing at line 12. My count is given a value at runtime so that is not the issue. Can anybody tell me why this is and how to get around it. Code is attached.
I also tried this both the pre render and Page_Init event but both yielded the same behavior with the Object reference not set to an instance of an object error. I can do this just fine in an onclick event for a button, but now I need a way to run a test and set the default view when the page loads. Seecode below
protected
void Page_Load(object sender,
EventArgs e)
{
eCrystalPSGDBDataContext psgDB =
new
eCrystalPSGDBDataContext();
int count = (from st
in psgDB.studyTbls
where st.patientid_i ==
Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString["PatientId"]) && st.studystatusid_i
== 1 select st).Count();if (count == 0)else
if (count == 0)
{
StudyInfoMultiView.ActiveViewIndex = 1;
}
else
{
StudyInfoMultiView.ActiveViewIndex = 2;
}
}
I would like to programmatically access a div in a style sheet for my master page and change its height value depending on the content page loaded.
Can this be done using Javascript in the Master page or in the code behind for the respective page? What I would like is something such as this if possible
When this content page loads, change the height value of this div in the css file
I don't want to use separate Master pages as this seems to defeat the whole purpose of the Master page
I have Master page with search option. when user hit enter then onclick event of the button should get fire.I cant user Default button option in master page form.Because by using that i got the following The DefaultButton of 'form1' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl.is there any other way to implement this default button option
View 1 RepliesI have a "Master Page 1" and "Master Page 2".The "Master page 1" I have the main menu.How does this view show in "Master Page 2".Should I copy all the code from the "Master Page 1", "Master page 2"?If you create a "Master page 1" and choose the option "Select Master Page" and choose "Master page 2", it works.But then we have a problem if I create a default.aspx and select "Select Master Page" and "Master page 2"In default.aspx writes: Error master page.
View 3 RepliesFirst i had taken Default.aspx Page .after that i added master page to my project.Now i want to include this master page into default.aspx page I was mention master page attribute in Page directive of defult.aspx.
Now problem is i am not able to Get the attribute of <asp:contentplaceholder>.
I've got a custom menu in the master page, that hides items according to different conditions (nothing to do with roles and perms). Is in the MasterPage.master file where i'm trying to hide them, e.g.:
[Code]....
The function isNormalMode() is defined in the code behind file MasterPage.master.cs, and everything is working properly in the page Default.aspx, but in the rest of the pages it doesn't execute the function at any time, so the item always remain visible.
Very often i write code like:
<img class="hasMenu" src="<%= (Model.Image==null)?Url.Content("~/Content/NoImage.jpg"):Model.Image.standard %>"
alt="Main image" />
Is there any predefined function which could beauty this code? Something like: ValueOrDefault(Model.Image.standard,Url.Content("~/Content/NoImage.jpg"))
how do I create programaticaly an HTM page (for exaample 5.htm)

I'm currently in the process of creating a webshop. This webshop supports theming, but I also want customers to choose a lay-out. I can create multiple masterpages and create a handler to dynamically set the correct master page. But some components, like the shopping cart, are controls which have to be present in the master page and are also used in the aspx pages. The shopping cart control for instance, has an Update method which is called whenever the user adds a product to their cart. So the question is: can I somehow create a default masterpage which has all the components on it, but still be able to create multiple lay-outs. And how should I reference that master page from the aspx pages? I also thought of creating an Interface class which defines the masterpage and it's public components, but I don't know if I can reference an interface from aspx pages.
View 8 RepliesThis is my scenario. I have a couple of content place holders on a Master page which by default are empty.Two of the content place holders are laid out side by side. I'll call one MainContent and the other SidebarContent. What I'd like to see happen is if a child page has content in the SidebarContent, the width of the MainContent should be adjusted accordingly.Is there a way to determine at runtime from the Master page if the calling child page has populated the SidebarContent?How do I go about this, if possible?
View 1 Repliesi have two master pages, when the user logins it should set first master page as default master page . If other login it should set second master page .
View 2 Repliesin my web application i have a master page and i want to implement defaultbutton for a login page when user press enter (my application has Master page) how can i place default button.
View 4 RepliesI have the following placeholder in my main master page. I would like to not have to duplicate my news content in several content pages, so I choose to simply not provide this content in them, and the master page should provide its default.
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="SideBarContent" runat="server">
<asp:GridView ID="newsGrid" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" Width="100%">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
</asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
When I try the following code, I get an error because newsGrid is null. I assume I'm doing this at the wrong place in the page lifecycle, but I don't know where the right place is.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Page.Header.DataBind();
if (!IsPostBack)
{
newsGrid.DataSource = _newsService.ListActive();
newsGrid.DataBind();
}
}
I'm starting with ASP.NET MVC (1.0). I have a problem to resolve. I have developed a web applicaton (an application of articles like e-commerce) with a head (logo and menu). I have defined the head (logo and menu) in the Master page (site.master). Now, I must display the number of articles in the head in a field (like the number of articles in the virtual basket in the e-commerce). I can read the number of articles in the data base (in the controller), but i can't integrate it in the master page.
View 1 RepliesI looked through and through and found no clean solution for this. A colleague of mine did find a pretty dirty solution but I don't see why the solutions in the links reference below does not work when I place it in a master page. I have a master page that basically has a textbox and a linkbutton, when I hit the enter key, the default button for the child page gets called instead.
