I just learned how to set the backgroundcolor for form1 using C# and now I am trying to adapt that example to the table as well.But when having this code below where I have named the table to ID="table1", I cant find that control in the .css code file.

I'm doing a tutorial for error logging. It seems to be pretty basic. Everything works the way it should but I get an error I did not expect in my error log. The error says file not found for favicon.ico. From what I've read this is a file for the icon that would appear in the address bar, to the left of the url. I don't understand why I'm getting this error. I have no code that does this or references this file. It happens when I run the app in chrome and in firefox. Does the browser automatically look for this file to display to the left of the url? Is it automatically looking for this file as part of it's normal routine when loading a page?
View 3 RepliesI come from a VB environment. I'm looking at 2 different file extensions. If one doesn't exist look at the next. I was hoping to use the try/catch function. I can get it to find the first extension but not the second. Here is my the try/catch part of code:

The error dialog that pops up shows Connection Error in the title and a yellow exclamation point with File Not Found! I thought the FileNotFoundException would work(?).

View 3 RepliesI am trying to get the drop down list to only include table1 entries where table3.int1 is the current selection in another drop down list (table2.id). Example:
Table1: id, string1, int
Table2: id, string1, string2, dec
Table3: id, int1 (ref table2.id), int2 (ref table1.id)
Both drop down lists are inside of a FormView object for a asp.net page. My current select command(s) are having the DropDownList for Table1 display all Table3 entries, instead of just the ones Tied to Table2 id from the other DropDownList.

if i browse for a text file and displays it in the text box and trying to save it as the name provided above i am getting the error as Directory Not Found Exception.
I have a problem with my chart image not refreshing and I narrowed it down to the fact that there's an unrelated image that according to MS VS2005 IDE, that the image file is not found... BUT..when I run/debug it... it displays properly.The image is right in the root of the aspx directory so it is not in any folder.<img src="right-thumb.png"> // this works but ide shows error and causes chart to have update problemi get an error in the IDE file is not found. however, if I display a FULL PATH, the problem goes away. WHY? i don't want to display the whole path because i don't want public users to see the server file location.

I have an asp.net website in VS2008.In the app_code folder I have class files.It all works fine no problem on my PC so there is no issue on my PC.I uploaded the whole website to my host and I get a file not found due to the code behind using a class fileI take away the class file refernce from the code behind and it works.
View 6 RepliesI am using table adapter in a dataset type (.xsd) file mapping to database. But I found after I created a new stored procedure in database and use table adapter mapping to the new stored procedure, I got method not found error like

My problem is that I have an ASPX page which contains an ASP:Table. The rows for the table is added dynamically on Page_Load. One column in the table contains TextBoxes, BUT when I type something on a TextBox and cause a postback, I am unable to find the value just entered. And above that the table is not displayed after the postback.Can anyone help me please? I want to keep the table viewstate with the modified textbox values, so that when i post back to server, I can intercept these new values.

(if you can't see the error. "MissingMethodException was caught" "Method not found: 'MyTableDataTable MyNamespace.get_SSCase().")
I've tried the wizard and also click and drag the table from solution explorer to the xsd file. The other tables work, just this one table won't work. What should I check?
I'm working on a custom menu system in asp.net that populates a horizontal menu on the fly based on which menu item is selected from the website's main menu.This 2nd menu is populated from a custom XML file in the website's root directory.(See http://loganyoung.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/asp-net-horizontal-submenu-from-xml/ for details).At the time I'd written that post, it did work, but my development environment has changed and now I'm getting an error saying that the XML file can't be found.
View 2 RepliesOK, I was having some deployment issues on IIS 5.1, but at one point (right before the machine died) I was able to serve the files. I'm not certain what is lacking in my current case, but now I'm trying to deploy on IIS 6, and cannot get anything but "404 not found" errors. It's driving me nuts.
Just to be sure the site is working, because it isn't in the web root (virtual directory), I dumped a Web Forms website in there, and it worked just fine. I've tried setting up a wildcard in IIS by going to the properties of the site, and in the area under the file extension mappings, I clicked Insert to create a wildcard, assigning it to the aspnet_isapi.dll file. No dice. And yes, I remembered to uncheck the "Verify file exists" checkbox. Since this is IIS 6, I also made sure I had the Default.aspx page, with the code:

So all should be good. But it's not. I've combed over at least 6 websites and related links on getting MVC 2 to work on IIS 6, but nothing has worked so far. I cannot purchase the url rewritier mentioned in Steve Sanderson's blog, nor can I use the free version, since my application isn't the only web site running on this server. I can't use extensions for the pages, either. This is a crude hack I really don't want to deploy in a production application.
