hi iam using asp.net with c#in my form there is file upload control to browse and get the image and there is dropdownlist control from which i have to select the items ,on selecting the items from dropdownlist onselectedindex changed event ,the file upload control is becomming empty how to handle this situation

I have a Drodownlist , hich is being filled with data from tables at Page Load with the check that Postback is false. Now I want to insert the selected value of dropdownlist to the table, but after pressing the Submit button, its numeric value is getting lost and is substituted with a "" (blank). How do i persist its value.

i am loading xml file from url and storing data into my database.i am binding that data with my dropdownlist bt the problem is wheneverr i select any option from ddl...by defaulst it takes the always takes first selected index...i.e value at the zeroth index value.....i really don't know what exactly the problem either the problem is with dropdown or the way i am loading xml file and binding it to dropdown.....below is my cs code.

I am unable to get the selected value of the DropDownList. When the user selects a value and clicks OK, the value that was loaded as the default selected value with an index of 0 is available in code behind, not the newly selected value. See the attached code for the dropdownlist in the Modal Popup form.

I have a gridview that receives data based on selection from a primary dropdownlist object. Works.
Within the gridview, there is a dropdownlist whose selected index is based on the query from the primary dropdownlist. Works.
Problem.
How do I force the used to change whatever value that the dropdownlist contains after they make their initial selection from the primary dropdownlist; except the default value of "make a selection".
Gridview, contains a checkbox which drives whether a selected row is inserted into the data base. The databind in done using an ObjectDataSource on the presentation page, not in the code behind.
I bind dropdownlist in my page

Here when i click on button it insert all data into table but it didn't insert my selected item from dropdownlist it insert select city that i define in page_load

The scenario is i have a dropdown list bearing a collection of items (say ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE) with the default value selected as 'ONE'. Now, when the client changes the index (say the client selects 'TWO'), a confirmation box is prompted asking 'Are you sure want to change the index?' with the buttons YES & NO. Now, the problem is, if YES button is clicked then its working fine as the index is changed. But when NO button is clicked in the confirmation box, I do not want the index to be changed to 'TWO' and it should be holding the previously selected value which was 'ONE'. How can I do this? For which event should I write the code, as I cant think of writing the code for the IndexChanged event because here the index change has already occured and since there is no 'IndexChanging' event in ASP.NET, where shall i write the code

I am selecting the file in the file uploader and when i press the button,the page gets postbacked and the selected files in the file uploader gets removed. I need to remain the selected file in the file uploader even thought the button clicked.
View 1 RepliesThe grid view row command does not execute on my production environment. This is a intermittant issue. I am not able to reproduct the exact steps but it does occur too often.
I have a load balanced environment with 2 identical servers in the farm. The servers are running on IIS 7.5
The other scenario in which I observe this is when the session times out. In that case the grid view events are lost. But this scenario is not a priority for me. I need to resolve the first scenario.
Any help on this or some useful links on "Understanding the session" or "understanding the complete event firing and execution" is welcome.
