my project is on online multiplex ticket booking system, In my system when a user selects a movie it will show timings of the show and according to selected time on which screen movie is available is shown. So i just want to know when user selects all the details as i mentioned, according to that seats available should be shown and when user books seats that user has to type in textbox ,available seats should be deducted. how to perform all calculation from database and coding for the same.

how this is achievable, not so much in the "build the whole project" as to how the reservation website gets quotes for all the flights from all the flight companies. I assume that in the website's code you have to use a webservice which will quote say website A, and get its ticket prices.

Having a lot of problems getting to grips with the Kentico CMS, but I'm finally getting somewhere close. I'm using a normal portal engine and running Kentico 5.5 RC2 on a local installation. I currently have an events page which uses a repeater to display all of the events that are available on the system currently. I want to use a calendar to be able to filter the events in that repeater. How would I go about this?

I want to create a small helpdesk ticket control system at work, that would allow users to enter a help request ticket; these tickets would then be assigned to a technician to work on, and the technician would mark it as "FINISHED" after the job is done. The requesting user would then be able to confirm and "CLOSE" the ticket, so that a Help Desk supervisor can keep track of response times and other stats based on the ticket details. Nothing too complicated, using .NET and SQL Server.
I am not sure if I should develop this as a Web application or a Windows application. This application would be used in the plant floor, so it would have to be easily available in the LAN. But we currently host a list of Windows applications via Citrix, so deployment would not really be an issue here. I don't really have experience creating winapps from scratch (though I've modified quite a few), but it feels like a web application would not look as "solid". What advice can readers provide that could guide me into deciding the better architecture for this purpose?

I have tried using asp.net createuserwizard and login control.But i m not able to customized them according to my liking.so i created my own user registration webform and login control with the records getting stored in sql database.I dont know whether its a correct way of using asp.net..but its working.Now I am creating a online attendace system which lets user to enter username, logged in and logged out time of each day in thedatabase .The problem is that my user logins in the morning and closes the website and again logins in the evening and exitsthe website.So how to perform this task since i am using a same login form to enter both login time and logout time?Is this possible?my table has colums id,username,logintime,logout timeThe thing is I am using a login from created earlier to enter the username,logindateandtime,logoutdateandtime fields in the databasein which logintime and logouttime gets values from system.

I have an online flight reservation system that users can reserve flight ticket,my problem is in concurrency,i have a 'remaincapacity' field in my flight table(keep flight properties) and when a user want to get a ticket i first check this field an if the value is greater than number of ticket that user requested i subtract 'remaincapacity' and after that i allow user to reserve that ,how do in control concurrency?

I would like to create a module that is similar to the inventory system but not with a whole lot of bells and whistles. Basically, I have a jumper business and would like create a database to hold the items (jumper, pop-corn machine, etc.). I would like to have a calendar that when a user click on a date that he/she like to book my item only the available items display and not the one that is already booked. Pretty much to prevent the same item to get book by two different people on the same date. I also would like to create a form on the order page to have the booking information to go into the database.

I have to adjust the existing travel booking form on www.lastminutejoy.de for all the 6 subpages which can be seen in the footer area (royal atlantis, aspendos beach...)
On a certain subpage, e.g. .../aspendosbeach.aspx, the visitor should be able tosearch ONLY everything related to aspendos beach. The style should be like this one: www.delphinpalace.de (on the left)
There you can see that you can search for "flight + hotel" (Flug + Hotel) and "hotel only" (Nur Hotel).
As a result of the search, visitors should see the same style like the one you see on those subpages of lastminutejoy.de.
As you don't have to code from scratch but just have to do some adjustments for all 6 hotels this shouldnt take too long.

I am developing a simple online DBMS to browse my database online.... the main concern for me is to clear everything from the PC when the user disconnect so no body can go and click (Back) on the browser and see the pages if the user forgot to close it.. what I have done so far is :

I want to create a Online Exam site in ASP.NET .In that i want to display Test based on the Date and time and the user can take the test at the time set my the Teacher.
For Example:
Teacher want to take C Test for the Mid Semester Test and the test is schedule on 1 May 2010,then the test should appear on the test page on the 1st may only and the user should be able to take the test on the set time.
The problem is that if i use System time then user can change the system time and can take the test schedule in future.
So i want to know how can implement this thing.I have given many online test but dont know how they work out the time and date logic.

As the title states, how can i stop two users from booking the same appointment time.
Example, two users logging, on there screen they can both see that a 1pm appointment is available. They both try to book themselves into that appointment time.
How can i stop this from happening and ensure only one user can book it, then refresh the screen to show the next available booking time to the other user.

The constructors for manually creating FormsAuthenticationTicket objects force us to set an "expiration" value, and this value overrides the "timeout" setting in web.config in my tags, which is not what I want, because now the user doesn't timeout. The "session" just expires at the given time.I need to manually create my ticket for UserData reasons, and it is just the way I decided to build my app. I guess I could spend a whole lot of time and redo the way my app. authorizes, and store the "userdata" elsewhere... but this seems extremely tedious for something so small..Is there anyway to manually create an Auth Ticket and still maintain timeout settings?! And by timeout, I mean resetting the timer on user activity. Not a fixed timeout!

I am not using web farms. I do not think the app pool is recycling , i compared the Process ID in several events and it is equal . My machine key is not AutoGenerate .

Reason: The ticket supplied has expired.I think this happens when people timeout instead of logout.First of all , this is not an error, it's Type: InformationI don't want this information, how do I stop ASP.NET from logging it?My application is not web-farmed, and uses a static machine key.

we recently upgrated our project from 1.1 to 2.0. since then we are seeing "Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired" in Event Viewer. this keeps coming 1-2 times for every minute. this is the full message. this also made the response time increased it seems.

I am developing a asp.net application using SQLServer 2008 and I have a page "Default.aspx" in which i have userID and Password textboxes and a SUBMIT button. Here is the script I am using to authenticate.

Well now i want to know that by using FormAuthenticationTicket how can I check on other pages if user is authenticated user cause in the URL if i just change the page like "Main.aspx" and hit it takes me there which should not happen and redirected to Login page.
How should i check on every page on page load event if user is authenticated or not and if not then redirected to Login.aspx.
