Web Forms :: Process An Identical 80 Control Form From 5 Different Pages?

I have a project that uses the same form on 5 different dynamic pages. The form will be in an updatepanel (I have no problems with that). My question is how can I populate the form with data and process the data on a centralized class? This form has about 80 controls on it.
I work in VB.
I've given up on trying to programatically generating/injecting the updatepanel/table into the contentplaceholder. (I got it to work but I could not read ANY of the fields even using nested FindControls). So now I've backed up to 5 instances of the form in easy to use UpdatePanels. But I cannot justify writing 5 identical form processor code blocks in 5 different classes.

RequiredFieldValidator does not allow me to cancel the process of filling form.

but if i want to cancel the process of form filling it does not allow me.

I'm looking for detailed technical information on the compilation process for aspx pages and vs2008.Recently I have been learning about controlbuilders and pageparserfilters. I have downloaded some code to clean out extra white spaces in my html in order to make the pages smaller. The code works great, but I don't understand WHY it works. I need to learn more about the page compilation process.

Is a server side script necessary to send a form to email? For example, suppose I want to submit this form. Is it only possible with php asp.net etc. or it can be done with javascript only?

I have an html form that looks like this:

Now lets assume that "myPage.aspx" returns "Done" if success or returns "Error" if fails.I want to display an alert showing the result.How do i handle the myPage.aspx response?

I have a web form used for importing data from a CSV file. It contains a result panel and a result label, which either show a success message or an error message after the import process. Let me say here I know the page should not be doing the import, but this is legacy code and the client expects only small changes.
My problem is that the result message (label) retains it's previous content and visibility during the next import process, because clearing it during Page_Load or at the beginning of the import method only has effect when the import method is complete and thus the postback is complete.
At the moment, the only solution I can see is to move the import code into a separate class (as it should be), call the import method asynchronously, clear the result message, and thne set then result message when the complete or error callback from the import process is called.

I have a basic Web site project in VB.NET (Visual Studio 2013 Express for Web), and was wondering if it would be possible to use PHP as the code to process the Web site's email contact form. That is, PHP would be part of a myContactForm.aspx Web page and, if so, are Windows servers acceptable to PHP? Do Windows servers and PHP like one another?
For some reason I have in my mind the idea that ASP/ASP.NET = Windows servers, while PHP = Unix servers.

We have two websites which only difference is in the design (different images, styles, layouts..etc) but the web structure of files and cs code is the same so we want to simplify its maintenance...
The actual structure would be:
DefaultA.aspx
DefaultA.aspx.cs
DefaultB.aspx
DefaultB.aspx.cs
LoginA.aspx
LoginA.aspx.cs
LoginB.aspx
LoginB.aspx.cs
One idea would be changing the design differences at runtime depending of the origin website, but we dont like much this because performance, abstraction in designing them and url confusion...
Another one is sharing the cs (both aspx inheriting and using the same cs) file but we never have done or seen it done in any website before so we wonder if its a good approach...

I have a db table MemberOccasion with two columns: memberID and occasionID where I keep members votes for occasions. A member can vote for several occasions. Every time a vote is inserted I need to check how many members have voted (and compare against the number of registered member in another table, but I do the comparison outside of this query). My question is this: Is it possible to do adjust the query below to accomplish this?
This is how I count all memberID in MemberOccasion:

I've developed a popup email .aspx used on our intranet based web app that is auto generated with .pdf's attached. I'm developing with VS 2008 ASP.Net 3.5 C# and System.Net.Mail.MailMessage. I can create and send the email with no issues. The problem is with any attempt to open or delete the attachments I get the above error. The .pdf's a copied with the following code:

My code is that I want to create a log file and log it upon a new user browsing the site. However, what i did was I put in a 6 second delay and then used another browser to access the page. And it threw an Exception saying it is being used by another process which is true. So how come I set it so that, if IT is being used by another process, WAIT and retry every 500 milliseconds until it becomes free/available?

I am developing a website with ASP.NET pages that uses an SQL Server database with LINQ to SQL. I am using Visual Studio's Web Developer along with SQL Server 2008 (Developer Edition) database tables on my personal PC to develop this software. When ready, I intend to transfer the compiled web pages to a web hosting service with an SQL server database that is identical to the database on my PC.
I now have a version of my website deployed on a web hosting service at: [URL] and all of my database tables duplicated at the remote SQL server. However, this version of my website does not work with the database yet. I realize that I can have the VS Server Explorer connect to both databases, but I do not know if the web pages on my PC can use both databases interactively.
I am asking how I can develop my website to use the local SQL Server database and then have the deployed pages use the remote SQL Server database with LINQ to SQL. Do I need to create one version that works with the local database and another deployable version that works with the remote database? What should I do?

I'm having major performance issues with my BBCode/Commenting system. It's taking 3 seconds to process the code, with 5 comments and a simple [b] command.
So here's what I am doing (it's done like this because of the way my backend system is designed):
"LoadComments" function is called with referenced to the repeater. "PagingSystem" is initializedBind data to controlData is pulled from the binded control (if bbcode is enabled) Data is put into a dataview
Process text and convert BBcode (update row) BindData I disabled every feature, including the BBCode, and it's still loading slow. This is the ONLY thing I can think of causing the issue. Here is the base code that process bb:

As you can see, it uses my own data management code. Even without using it, I'm still not 100% sure how to modify the contents inside of a repeater. I don't see how modifying them could slow it down so bad..

We have a scenario using asp.net Forms Authentication in a web farm and need to setup identical <machinekey /> sections on each servers .config file.
Is it better to store the <machinekey /> section in machine.config rather then web.config? what's the advantages and disadvantages of each approach concerning security?

I am writing an application, and i have a user form, which will be the same for the users and the administrators. on different pages.
i want to only create the form once, and then be able to put it on two different aspx files.
i tried it with the "control" , but it then gets really complicated trying to access fields on the control from the aspx page to do the calculation, etc.
is there another way to do this? creating a form in one place, be able to add it to any aspx page, and have easy access to it's controls?

In my development environment everything works as I expect. I can access all the pages and as soon as I get to a secured page I check the Request.IsAuthenticated and redirect to the login page if needed. The problems starts when I deploy the project under IIS7. When I access the site I'm being redirected to the login page (as defined in the web.config) although it suppose to be a public page... If I disable the Form Authentication in the admin console Request.IsAuthenticated always return true.So
How can I make IIS behaves like my ASP.NET development server?

I am using forms authentication in IIS7 to password-protect a dev site, but the authentication seems to get by-passed when the site contains only static HTML files + login.aspx + web.config.
When I renamed the files to .aspx, I am prompted with the login form I am not doing anything fancy. I have a very simple login script and it should just redirect to index.html afterward.
To summarize, the entire site is using HTML (for now) and needs to be password protected.

We've had a requirement from a client to move a site that is running on it's own domain to a subfolder of another app.
I've acheived this using ISAPI rewrite proxying.
However, there is one form that does a post back in the site. The generated url for the action from ASP.NET is "/sign-up.aspx?". This sends the postback to the root of the site.
I want to change this to "sign-up.aspx?" (no leading slash). This would be fine if I wasn't using Master pages as I could get a reference to the form and change it's action (this is .NET 3.5 SP1). I've tried to use the following code in my control to get a reference to the form but it doesn't seem to do anything. It finds the form but the action is not set to the value.

If I watch the processes tab in Task Manager on the web server I see "cmd.exe" under the context of 'administrator' but it just hangs. For test purposes c:SendV80s.bat: copy c: oot.ini c:zzz.txt
If I logon onto the webserver's console and execute SendV80s.bat it works and exits without issue. But when I execute the same batch file via the Submit button it gets stuck executing in Task Manager/Process. I believe this has something to do with the fact that cmd is not running in a full environment/desktop context. I just noticed this on the actual console of the webserver (not in my RDP console but console 0 instead)
A pop-up box stating: CMD.exe Application error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application. And when I click on the OK button my ASPX page's WaitForExit is satisfied and the continues processing normally.
