Web Forms :: Reset Not Working?

I have a form XXX.aspx where user would enter data and click Submit. On submit, all the data would be saved in my database and the user is redirected to a second page(which would open in a new window).I am trying to reset the form before the user is redirected to second page. But all the fields are populated as it is when the new window opens up.My reset works if Response.Redirect is commented. But the XXX.aspx (with fields reset) is also opened in a new window. The first window has the form still populated. How do I reset the controls in my first window.Please help me on this. I am towards end of my project and have got stuck on this.

i am using this code to reset all my textboxes and Dropdowmlists after the button is clicked:

i have tested this code and it works great separately .. the only difference is on my project i have DIV, tables, TABs and ContentPlaceHolder. not sure if this can make this code not working.. i am not getting any error..but nothing is happening.

I have two usercontrols.In one I am either typing a program name or selecting from a existing list and putting it in session. Then in the other usercontrol I am checking whether the session values exists or not and then setting the selected value of another dropdown according to the program name selected in the first one. My code for setting the value in the second one is as

FillProgramList(select) is the function filling the second DD. Now this code works perfectly in my local system but does not work on the live server where it is deployed. I feel that an extra postback is happening there which is resetting the dropdown value in the second dropdown.If so what do I need to do for preventing that. I could be wrong.In that case I would like to know your opinion and how to solve it. Since I cannot debug on the live server I do not know as to what exactly is happening. Is there a way to find out exactly the problem without debugging on the live server.

I have an xml file stored in local folder which has login credentials.
Now in Login page..There's a Forget Password button. So when user clicks forget password he gets redirected to Resetpassword.aspx page. Here I have to reset the password based on username, email and security question. May I know how to reset the password from xml file. I am a new to xml.

I'm assuming this behavior is due to the postback. I've written a little test page to demonstrate this problem.

There are three textboxes here, you must enter more than 2 characters for a textbox to validate. When the page loads tab into the first box and type 'abc'. Then tab into the second box and the page will validate. However, when it postbacks you'll be reset into the first textbox again. How can I accomplish a more smooth transition from one control to the next?
I have a form with about 20 textboxes on it, all of which have a customvalidator on them, and it would be much easier if the page were navigable solely by the keyboard without having to lick each textbox every time.Code is available if needed.

I have a situation where i want to postback and redirect the user to the diffterent page wherever the user selects something from dropdown list. If the user presses the back button the in the browser the dropdownlist should be in the default state. i have already tried this code

My desire is to make my normal HTML Reset button into an asp control which I can control in my seperate Code-file.I thought that giving him the attribute runat="server" would be enough, though I was mistaken.The reason why I want to have full control at him is because I have a dropdownlist that depends on another, using ajax, and when I hit the reset button, the dependent list stuck with its previous values and can't be changed again, only when I hit the reset button.

I have an application where the user scrolls down through a grid and clicks a SELECT button to populate some textboxes based on the content of the grid. On the return from the postback the selected row is out of sight because the grid comes back reset to the top within the scroll window.
Is it possible to have the postback return with the highlighted selected row visible rather than forcing the user to scroll back down to find the selection?

I have problem when resetting the radio button.
3 radio buttons with search option and a reset button.
When clicking reset buttion , I will select the first radion button and reset the system. But the functionality is working based on the first radio button, but its not checked. It is checked in the previous state. check in the below website.

Click on "Add stuff" , Then search widgets , here you can see the section what i said before. click on the search , you can see the list of widgets and select the "My widgets" and click search , you can see "No widgets found"... now when you click the reset button you can see the list of widgets which are related to the first "All Widgets" radio button,but the radio button is still in the previous state even though i set Allwidgets.checked = true; May i know why its not working?

We are using Ultramain(DB: Oracle 10g and Language: Progress) as a MRO application for aircraft health check. Ultramain has more than 3000 users and using this application around the world. Users are forgetting the password frequently and we are getting the mail minimum 10 password reset from the user. I have planned to create a website for reset the password themselves if user valid. Only one button in the website called "RESET". If user click the reset button, it should check the user have already access using the table called "USER". If users have access, it should check the user authentication. If users does have access, the message appears "You do not have an access". If authentication success,update thepassword from the table "RESETPWD" to application table "USER".

I have a web form with some labels, textboxes, buttons and a gridview. The gridview has AllowPaging ="true". Girdview displays record numbers (hyperlinked), When I click on a record number in the grid view it populates textbox1. Then I hit the 'Search button to auto populate the form the that record data from the database.
My problem is when I am on say 5th page on my grid view and click a record number to go in textbox1, and then click on the search button to auto populate the form, the gridview goes back to page 1.
How do I make the search button not reset/refresh the gridview?

I have a created a form using a user control. One of the dropdownlists in the form is populated after the user makes a specific selection from another dropdownlist...i.e. a dependent dropdown list. This is triggered using the SelectedIndexChanged event handler on the controllling dropdownlist.
The dependent dropdownlist gets populated correctly, but when I choose one of the options and go to submit the form, the dependent dropdown list is reset and doesn't maintain the selection that was made.
The controlling dropdown list ID is "level". The dependent dropdown list ID is "EnrollmentSize".
The "EnrollmentSize" DDL only losses the option that was selected. The DDL is sitll populated with all the correct values. It only losses the option that was selected and goes back to the first option...i.e. "Select..."
The viewstate on the page is enabled and all the other form values are maintained. It is only happening with the EnrollmentSize ddl.
I've set breakpoints and tried debugging and I do see that the EnrollmentSize.SelectedValue is an empty string, but I don't see why or where that is happening in the button click event
I thought it had something to do with EnableViewState,but that is set to true and has no bearing. Everytime I try to submit the form, the "EnrollmentSize" DDL is reset and doesn't maintain the option that is selected.

I have a panel that users are filling blanks in it.
In this process, several post back will be fired and controls like labels, dropdownlists will change their values, nested panels will change their visible.
Now I wish to know how I can reset these changes when user submit the form.
Like

As a clarification, I still need to use some of the value in the btnSubmit_Click and display some submit info based on these values. So I *cannot* use Response.Redirect().

I have webform that is used to search for records and displays them...the form contains a dropdownlist, a textbox, a button, and a gridview...user select an entry from the dropdown, type in a matching value and then click on the button to add the entry into the gridview. All of these seem to be working just fine...however, the issue am having is this...after working with the first entry and users search for the second record, the gridview still maintains the entries from the first search. How do i go about resetting the gridview each time there is a new search? Here is what my code looks like.

I'm looking at asp:webpart to implement some personalization on a startpage for a insurance web app.(no Sharepoint) I have read some and made some tests but I have at least one thing that I don't understand.
In some cases I wanted to reset all users personalizations to the page default settings. So to speak, I will do it in an authoritarian way.
How can I do this? Database manipulation? Which table in the database? Or is there another way?
