I'm trying to write code that responds to a button click event that will make an asp.net drop down box reveal its list. Hence, this will eliminate the need of the user to actually click on the drop down list. Can someone write out the code for this in c#.

On the items in my listview, I have a button to allow for editing. The strange thing is, that the button only changes to editmode on the second click of the button, and then it doesn't load the data from the item. I have tried to debug this issue, and it does cause a postback on the first click, but nothing happens. Then on the second click, it fires a postback again and changes to the edittemplate, but without any data.
I databind my listview on

May be this question sounds silly, but I want to add an event for the Dropdownlist web control (using VB.Net) to implement Click event. I have a Dropdownlist control with some items. As soon as user selected an item, it should display some records based on the selection. Currently I am having a Submit button and user has to hit on that button to see the records. I want to remove the Submit button and wants to see the records as soon as the user choose the item in the dropdownlist
Dropdownlist is coming with default event "SelectedIndexChanged" and it is not helping me to achive what I want

I have a listview control that collects address among other things. I have a dropdown list for the country that defaults to "United States". For the state/region, I have another dropdown list populated with the states, and a textbox. I want either the state drop down list or the text box to be visible and enables at a time. The default is to have the dropdown list displayed. If the user changes the country, the state dropdown list should only be displayed if the user selects "United States" again. If any other country is selected, the text box should be displayed instead

Functionality works fine when entering a value in the textbox, tabbing out of the textbox and clicking on the save button. But issue comes up when entering a value in the textbox and directly clicking on the save button without tabbing out of the text box. In the second scenario, only textchanged event fires and save click event dosen't fire. What I was expecting was after exection of textchanged event, save click event should also fire. But this is not happening.

View 1 RepliesI have one Button (Refresh Button), One ComboBox (containing DEV and UAT as its items) and a GridView on my asp page.
I am filling up my Grid with values from database on the ComboBox's 'TextChanged' event and Buttons's 'Click' event.
First time when page is loaded, there is no information in the grid, but when i choose DEV/UAT from the ComboBox 'TextChanged' event is fired, the grid is filled with the relevant data. That is what i want.
When i click the Refresh Button to refresh the data again, first comboBox's 'TextChanged' event and then 'btn_Click' event is fired.
I want then when a button id pressed only 'Click' event to be fired and not the ComboBox's 'TextChanged' event.
I have a GridView control that contians, among other things, a DropDownList. In this particular case, the DropDownList is in the EmptyDataTemplate, but I suspect I will run into a similar situation when I'm in Data Rows as well.I'm trying to handle the OnSelectedIndexChanged event for the DropDownList and in the .aspx file I have used the declarative syntax to assign the handler OnSelectedIndexChanged="ddlStoreList_SelectedIndexChanged") and have created the handler code to deal with this.

The problem that I'm running into is that the event is not being handled. In other words, when I put a breakpoint in the handler, I find that it is not getting hit when I change the selection of the DropDownList.

my dropdown list contains 3 items google,yahoo,hotmail.
It the user selects google msgbox should be raised saying "You hae selected google". Thats it. I m not getting how to do that. I tried on selectedchangeindex event but nothing happened.
I have a button which has a click event but its not firing on the first click. I suspect its something to do with that i am in dropdown box control so when i click the Button the event for the dropdown box occurs (textChanged) but it forgets about the click event
Of course if i click it a second time it works.
Or if i click somewhere else first so that the event TextChange occurs and then click the Button the first time it executes..
Is this normal and what are more workarounds if any?
basically the TextChange event must fire but the button click event must fire as well.
All the events i am talking about are ASP.NET events.
