Web Forms :: Sitemap Xml Structure - Can Add Levels (sub Catagories) If All Files Are In The Same Folder
May 11, 2010
I have four categories, which I would like to show up in my breadcrumbs:
ex:
Home > Poems TOC > MyPoem
Home > Songs TOC > MySong
can I structure the xml in the Web.sitemap doc, so that even if the files are in the same directory, they will dispaly as above. (the TOC entries are table of content pages, which call the actual content pages)
In above link you clearly describe (How to display directory folder structure). Â
The path only works when the folder insight the project.
When I put folder outside the project it didn't work. What type of changes I need to made to acces the folder outside the poject. & How can I show other details of files which are including in folders Like. Last Modified Created Date, Modified Date etc..
However, now I want to be able to create multiple web.sitemap files, and then programmatically determine which web.sitemap file to use, but I can't seem to find out how to do this. I'm assuming I could either create one custom SiteMapProvider that can perform the logic to determine which web.sitemap file to load, or I have multiple providers, each one with the SiteMapFile property set to a specific *.sitemap file, and then switch providers programmatically before I access SiteMap.RootNode.
on my current contract, they're telling me that they want to store and upload files outside the website structure - same drive, but a different path (like C:Files)
They also want a page inside the website to list them - that part I can do - I use System.IO to list all the files in that folder, and put an HTML hyperlink to each one of them.
However, when you click on the files, they don't open.
The boss tells me this can be done by somehow making this outside folder a share and using impersonation - but I don't get it.
I am working with Asp.net MVC 2 Framework. My project have 20 modules. In each module wise i want to group the controllers and views. Controller are grouped in folder for each module. but the views are not grouped for each module.Instead of it creating each folder for each controller.x: Countrycontroller ,StateController,CityController these controller under Admin Module.Views are created in Country Countryindex.aspx State Stateindex.aspx City Cityindex.aspx of that i need in the following structure . Admin Countryindex.aspx Stateindex.aspx Cityindex.aspx
I'm not sure that what I need to do is possible.I'm using the SQL SiteMap Provider as the source for my main navigation menu. When a user hits my site, they are asked to enter their location (town name). This preference setting is being stored using the Profile Provider. The page then reloads to showwww.mysite.com/liverpool in the address bar, for example. The information shown on this page is relevant to where they are. I'm using URL rewriting to map this to a page that is passed a parameter (eg. viewZone.aspx?ZoneID=234). I now need to insert the town name into some of the URLs generated from the sitemap. For example:www.mysite.com/cars-for-salewould becomewww.mysite.com/liverpool/cars-for-saleSome URLs would need to remain unchanged such as www.mysite.com/shop.Do you know if this is possible? If needed I could put a placeholder inside the URL in the database - **townName**/cars-for-sale and then run some kind of replacement procedure at run-time, but I don't know where in the execution process I could do that.
I want to modify the way the Views are organised in my project to allow for a custom way of handling Globalization
I want to have an extra route param containing the country code and to pass this down to the view engine so that the correct view is displayed.
My mapRoute rule in Global.asax is set up like this...
[Code]....
So I want to just have 1 controller called main and then have my view folders organised like this..../Views/Main/en/Index.cshtml/Views/Main/fr/Index.cshtml I have tried creating a custom view engine but i don't know how to access the countrycode route value because none of the examples show how to do this.
I'm looking much more closely at the idea of universal conventions over configuration for my projects (versus 'home-rolled' conventions, or grabbing from a variety of conventions). However, I'm not seeing much, if anything, about the preferred location of ASHX files in, for example, ASP.NET MVC projects (as well as Web forms projects).
Is there a recommended directory structure for these? Perhaps there's a published specification with a much larger directory structure accounted for?My personal convention has been to place these within a top-level Handlers directory, but I honestly haven't personally seen any other projects that really do this.I suppose, depending upon what it does (for example, generating an image), that one could argue this might go into the Content directory, but it seems this directory is generally used for static files.(Aside: One could argue that ASHX files are not needed in MVC projects, but based on questions posted here, it appears ASHX files still have their place in MVC projects.)EDIT: Ignore MVC projects, since I'm suggesting that as one example. How about Web Forms, then?
I want to write a sitemap.xml to the root folder of my website automatically every month. Ofcourse I havent given the IIS_IUSRS group full permissions on the root folder of my website or on sitemap.xml
But what permissions should I give to which usergroup on which folder/file in order to have my ASP.NET application update the sitemap.xml from within the asp.net web application?
I have a folder with png images that are not shared or public (the folder is outside my application folder). Now I want my users to be able to view thoose images only if they are logged in (different users, different images). All images have a name that correspond to the users id. My idea is to stream thoose images into the asp:Image control, is that possible? How do I do that? Other (better) solutions?
Following the first site, it had worked but when I´ve moved the pages and files to other folders and set the web.config file on this folder, now it won´t work at all!!!
The file is an *.swf object. I did put the asapi.dll to map the extension on the website root, I´ve put the
[Code]....
on the web.config new folder and on the web.config website´s root.
It won´t work!!! I can access the file directly!!! on the web.config of the folder that contains the file, there is a <deny users="*" /> line.
i want to create catagories with unlimitted subcatagories. I am using asp.net 2.0, sql server 2000. How to do this & how to display those with treeview
We are getting this error message when we try to click the link in the menu to go to Report Server:
Source Error: Line 31: <siteMapNode title="Reports" description="Reports"> Line 32: Line 33: <siteMapNode url="https://ffxsqldgc01.ffx.co.fairfax.va.us/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2fDPZ&ViewMode=List" title="View Reports" description="Click here to view the reports" /> Line 34: </siteMapNode> Line 35:
I tried to add after the &, as it was suggested on one of the forum but it did not work. Any other ideas.
i want to copy the entire folder along with its contents from the client machine to the server where the application is deployed. i am using asp.net 3.5.
I have a simple user control which needs to output a list of images in a particular folder. I'm passing a property containing the folder path into the method so the same method can be used with different folders on other occasions.
What I have is almost working, but there seems to be a problem with the format of the file paths. Here's the usercontrol:
[Code]....
This loops through the files absolutely fine, but they don't render because the 'src' attribute is a local file path as opposed to a web-safe file path or a relative path. It renders like this:
<img src="C:UsersMeDocumentsMy Web Sitesmysiteiconsflagsad.png" /><img src="C:UsersMeDocumentsMy Web Sitesmysiteiconsflagsae.png" /><img src="C:UsersMeDocumentsMy Web Sitesmysiteiconsflagsaf.png" />
how to update my code so that it looks for files in the folder relatively, or uses correct absolute paths for the website to render the images correctly?
I need to process files xml files which are present in Transfiles folder and then need to move that files to processed folder. Here is my code.I am getting issue asÂ
