Feb 10, 2010I have a list with 2 sorts of items. Items that have actual values (1,2,3,4 etc) and items that are like group headings so all their values are set to 0. If someone decides to select a group heading - which has a value of 0, is it possible to redirect them to my 'Select an item' item which has a value of ""?
If worse comes to worse, I can just reconstruct the entire list, although if possible I'd like to avoid it.

Jul 4, 2010I am trying to get a drop down and a form view to work together. I've never used form views before. I also am using the entity framework to do everything. This is also my first time with it.
I want to be able to have a drop down, that is populate from the same data source as the form view. So far that works fine.
I then want to be able to change the drop down item, and it change the form view item that is displayed. I cannot figure out how to make this work.

Here when i click on button it insert all data into table but it didn't insert my selected item from dropdownlist it insert select city that i define in page_load

Why Did Web App Stop Showing AM In Times
Apr 25, 2010I haven't made any code or configuration changes (that I know of) to my ASP.NET web application and this morning it suddenly stopped showing the AM in my displayed times. PM still shows up, just not AM. It's hosted on Windows Server 2003. I figured somehow the OS regional settings might have been changed somehow, but that doesn't appear to be the case. How could this have happened?
I was able to change the OS time format to hh:mm:ss tt and then back to h:mm:ss tt and it seems to have fixed my app. I'm going to assume that the hosting company made some kind of change unless somebody has a better idea

Feb 6, 2011i used a jQuery plugin who try to call three or four method because some of them not implemented in some browser. code is working fine for me and it's work in all browser.when i try to debug the application in visual studio and internet explorer then i found the same errror everytime Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method i see the same error every time. are it is not really so weird that they give me error every time even i put refresh and see error first then see the page in IE. i am trying to disable the script debugging for other and IE in IE but after that they never forget to give me error.well i am not want to go in the depth of this but someone tell if i can stop showing this window in my visual studio 2010.

What I plan on doing is comparing the string like if United States(db value) == United States (dropdown value) then go ahead and select United States in the drop down. When I do this I am getting the right value selected but it is making all the values the same for all records.

What im trying to do is make a dynamic SQL query, something like this:

You are gonna have to select those arguments from 3 drop down lists, but i wanna have a default value on the top of the drop down list options and send a "*" as value if this option its selected, so the filter doesn't consider that value

But when the page opens the drop down lists always show the item that is at the top of the list. Not the actual item that is in the database.
So say the name John should be there in one and a car names honda. But instead it shows alex and acura. These are just examples. But it alwasy starts with the item at the top

Jul 7, 2010I have a project that queries a set of times from a database and uses these entries to populate a dropdownlist. Once the page is loaded, the user can select one of the items in the DropDownList. When the "Save" button is clicked, the Selected item value is returned to the [HttpPost] version of the controller action. This item is then stored into session. If the system returns to the page containing the dropdown, I want the saved Value to be selected in the DropDownList. What actually happens is that the DropDownList is always set to be the first item in the list.

Jun 22, 2010I've got a drop down list that I want to populate with items from a SQL Server database, which I did successfully, but I can't figure out how to write an if statement that will clear the drop down list based on a selected index and repopulate it with data from another table. The drop down list is inside an update panel that auto posts back.
Basically I want to allow the user to choose an item, but rather than populate another drop down list control, i just want to repopulate the current one with new data.I'm guessing that if I want to get data from more than one table the code below isn't going to work for me. Could I get the data from all the tables at once and store each table data in its own variable until I need to use it? (Each table will have under 10 items, in 5 tables.)
