Web Forms :: Validations Using Onblur And Button Click Event Of The Textbox?
Feb 7, 2011I have a web form where i have a key field "Account #" and ive put some live validations sort of function which validates the input text against values in database and instantly displays result if the account # is valid or invalid and ive put this on "onblur" event of the textbox.
The problem i am facing is that i have a "SAVE" button also and when user inputs account number the onblur fires and validates the input then user presses tab key fill other details and change his mind and go back to account # and type some invalid values and without pressing tab clicks on SAVE button with the mouse ..darn in this case it doesnt fire ONBLUR instead if fires SAVE event...how to overcome this problem and execute onblur first in any case.

Feb 19, 2010I have four text boxes with start date,end, trialstartdate, trial end date. On pageload I retrieve the information from database into data table and display it on the page. It displays multiple rows. Whenever the dates(in any row) change, on TextChangedEvent I store the updated information into the datatable. After the user clicks submit I update all the information back to the database. This works fine until I change some value in the textbox and then immediately click submit button. As soon as I clicked the submit button it fires textchanged event but ignores the button click event. I have to click on submit button again to fire the button click. It works fine if i change value in the textbox and then click else where on the page and then click submit button.

Within it, I have a repeater, inside of ITEMTEMPLATE I put one TextBox for product quantities and one Button, for update the quantity inserted on that textbox.
When the customer clicks over the Button, it fires a function that gets the content of the TextBox and do an update on my Database.
It works perfetly when it is done with the mouse click. But I need to fires the update function WHITHOUT the manually click event. When the customer just put the mouse out of the TextBox (onblur event), I want to fires that function.

if i click on edit imagebutton, i need to add textboxes dynamically in all the columns of that row except first 2 column. And if i click on Update imagebutton i need to retrieve the textbox values.we can add template field column for textboxes also, but why i am sticking to this method is.. the number of columns changes depending on the selecteditem from the dropdownlist. Eg: If i select india from dropdownlist the number of columns in the gridview would be 4 and if i select UK from dropdownlist the number of columns would be 9 likewise.
C# - LinkButtons Created Dynamically In A Repeater Don't Fire ItemCommand Event
Jun 2, 2010I've got a repeater that's used to display the output of a dynamic report that takes criteria from webcontrols on the page. Within the repeater's ItemDataBound method I'm adding controls (Linkbuttons for sorting by column values) dynamically to the header of the repeater based on values selected in a checkbox list and at this point setting the CommandArgument and CommandName properties of the linkbuttons.
The issue is that when the linkbuttons are clicked they don't fire the ItemCommand event although they are clearly being correctly created and added to the header (there is some additional code to set the cssClass, text etc. and this works as expected.) The first column header in the repeater is set in the markup and the itemcommand event fires correctly on this one only. When the other column headers are clicked the repeater rebinds as programmed, but the columns are not dynamically re-generated.

I have a page with a couple of RequiredFieldValidators, each in its own ValidationGroup. One of the RequiredFieldValidator controls is inside a Datalist and the submit button triggers the relevant DataList_ItemCommand. It works just dandy until I add the ValidationGroup to the button, at which point clicking on the button no longer fires the DataList_ItemCommand event. Here is the HTML

Note that the ValidationGroup name is there, and it is unique. No other ValidationGroups exist with that name. As it stands, this code does NOT fire the DataList_ItemCommand event, so no update occurs. However if I remove the ValidationGroup declaration from the Button control, the event fires properly.

How To Click Event For Multiline Textbox

I can use either a html control or a an asp.net control but what I want to do is somehow recognize which line is being clicked - preferably server-side so that it works without javascript but a jquery solution would be fine as well. After the line is clicked I need to take the text from said line, and return an output after a xml lookup.

C# - Button Click Event Won't Return Value To Textbox?
Oct 26, 2010I have two buttons on my web form. When clicking on the first button, the event does not fire. Here's what I've placed in the click event handler:

May 20, 2010I have textboxes being generated by a repeater that use OnTextChanged with autopostback enabled so that I can know when when the values change. This all works perfect.The problem starts when I try to click on any buttons on the page. The loss of focus triggers the event for the OnTextChanged; however, the event for my buttons never get fired. I checked this in the debugger and while debugging if I put a break-point in the page_load it will call both; however, without the break-point it still only calls the OnTextChanged event.I found this post on JavaScript. If my problem is also JavaScript related, why does the clicking of the button fire in debug mode?

Jan 7, 2011I've been searching a little bit to try and find the answer to this problem. As of right now another person I work with has designed a wizard step with an upload button in part of it. After the person clicks the browse button and selects their file a validation statement comes up saying, "Please click 'upload and continue' or clear the field" and then is supposed to disable the continue button until this is done. He started by adding a RegularExpressionValidator and found it did not solve his problem.
Now that he's out today we're working on trying to solve this and my first though is to actually use a custom validator instead and have it call a function in the back-code for validation which checks to see if the "Upload" click-event has happened. Is there an easy way of verifying whether or not a click-event has occurred. Basically my conditional is shown in the pseudo-code below...
