One of our WebScrapping project asks for a parameter of type AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser() so when I gone to create an object of AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser()
AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser oBrowser = new AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser();
it has thrown System.Threading.ThreadStateException: ActiveX control '8856f961-340a-11d0-a96b-00c04fd705a2' cannot be instantiated because the current thread is not in a single-threaded apartment. It is working fine when using with Windows app.
For some unknown reason I suddenly am unable to create an object variable for a Linq Data Class. If I create a new project and try the process again with the same database everything works as advertized.The code I am using is Dim db As New RoggDataContext which gives me an error on the object variable "db": Overload resolution failed because no accessibility 'NEW' accepts this number of arguments.I have looked inside every file in the Web Project like the web config to check the connection string, gobal, and designer.vb looking for any errors whit no JOY. I also tried to create a new form and code behind with a button and received the same error.This is mind blowing because as I already stated, I can create a new Web Site and the problem goes away.
I have a website written in C# that was running fine on one server. We moved it to another server and have a couple issues. I am mainly a VB.NET coder but can do a few things in C#. This is not a project - it is a website and can open it in VS2008 no problem. This is an admin site for the whole website where the user can add customer comments, etc. When logging in, it works fine. I can go to one of the admin pages after logging in and works. If I go to two other different pages, I get this error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

It turns out this is in the main.master page and it is used by the other pages that load fine. The ApplicationTitle variable is set right in the web.config file and like I said, it shows on the other pages.
My question is why would this code work fine for some pages and not two others? All of these admin pages are under a folder called Admin and the web.config file is in the root folder of the website. Its almost like these two pages cannot see the web.config file in the root folder? Why would that be if thats the case?
I'm trying to automate system login by using webbrowser control and do some processing after i have login-ed.
Normally, after login into the web, it will pop up a new windows. But then, i faced a problem,if automate login with WebBrowser control, the pop-ed up new window will ask me to login again. So i have searched for the solution, MSDN suggest to use axWebBrowser and ppdisp in order to keep track of the session.
Now the problem is, i have no idea how to control the axWebBrowser1 to get the HTML ID and set attribute towards the elements in the axWebBrowser page.
I can set value to the element using webBrowser control, as below:
but i cant set it like this with axWebBrowser control... is that anyway that i can use webBrowser control and also maintain the session without using axWebBrowser control?
I have a webservice, it has few webmethods. when i create a client proxy and invoke the methods to check its response, i am getting this error. Can someone tell me what things can i check to know the cause of this? The error is not saying much hence blocked on this.
I used Object Test Bench to test my classes in VS 2008 professional edition . Right click on Class name and then selected create instance ,then its Constructor, there comes a dialog box, that just gives a message and a TextBox field is present there, i filled that field with any name and clicked OK.Then error message comes that "Create Instance Failed" and its error code is "0x80004005" . What's this ? How to instantiate object of my classes ?
I have a form in a page and a panel inside the form.The panel gets loaded with dynamic controls like radio button and text boxes.
User is allowed to choose any radio option and enter any value in the textbox beside it and then goes for submit button to move to next stage.
Problem Descritopn:
I load the controls in the panel based on the index of a combo control on the same form.it is done in selectedIndexChanged - This is working fine.
When i go for the submit button and ask for the textbox control, it says "object reference not set to instance of object", denoting that instance is not available. Moreover the panel control list gets empty automatically.

Whenever I create a new folder in my website (VS008) and add an item (Class) it can't be seen by the other pages, even though new class is public. Only if I add the class to the app_code folder or create a bin folder for it then it could be shared from these folders however I want to create my own custom named folders for organization and keep my classes there.
I am just planning to create a blog type of web application. But i am not understanding how do i rewrite url's? say suppose site is xyz.com then when some user registers with name of T then he can visit blog at T.xyz.com? As you can see the url's will keep on changing dynamically.
I don't want to keep creating sub domains for each new user joined on the site. How can i achieve this?

Trying to explain this clearly. I have a dropdown listbox where user can select multiple names. These names are then selected/inserted into db table in a loop. Table is displayed in an editable gridview. I have a main sqldatasource1 on my aspx page with select/insert/update permissions, but because select command doesnt work with parameters of multiple values (or does it?), i resorted to using an alternative sql datasource in the codebehind in order to run the select query on the multiple values chosen from the dropdownlist to see if they were in my table.I now get this error when I go to select multiple names from the dropdown list

i want to create a datetime object in the way dd/mm/yyyy but the defualt behaviour of datetime object is mm/dd/yyyy. I want this because my user enters date in dd/mm/yyyy format and i want to apply different additions and subtrations on this format. I know how to display dates in different formats.
I have a button on a page with a Repeater and an ObjectDataSource. To give credit where credit is due, the Repeater's paging functionality is courtesy of ScottGu. (However, I'm using ASP.NET 4.0 and SQL Server 2008, as opposed to ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.)
Anyway, in the button's click event, I need to access the Text property of a Label that's inside the Repeater because it's used as an input parameter in a stored procedure. I'm getting a NullReferenceException when trying to access the Label's Text property. I have researched this error and have tried a few different solutions (involving FindControl and the Repeater's ItemDataBound event), but I haven't been able to get it to work. The code is below.
