1. after user click on one of the buttons another ones doesn't response
2. I need to execute some code after user received file (delete copy of it from the server)
I suppose I need to open another window and call SaveFile dialog from it. But how can exactly do this? I've found example code of opening window or starting SaveFile dialog but not two of them together and I can't figure out how to put them together...
I've just installed VS 2010 RC and IIS7 with .NET framework 4.0 on a Windows 7 laptop (and I'm very new to this).
I'm trying to use Response.WriteFile to add a menu to an .aspx page, and it works but it also adds two square/unknown characters before the inserted text. Also, when I view the source of the displayed webpage in IE8, the source gets up to the point of the two squares, then shows an opening angle bracket (<) and then stops, although the rest of the webpage displays fine.
It doesn't matter whether the included file has any text in it or not, or whether it is an .html or .aspx file.
Response.Write doesn't have the problem.
(In FF and Opera, the inserted text is displayed as html code with a space (opera) or unknown character (FF) between each normal character. I'm not worried about those browsers as I'm developing soley for IE8)
Is is possible to write to the http response stream from a dynamically created bitmap using the Response.Write/WriteFile without saving the image to the hard drive?
I have a button that calls a click event to download a picture. In my click event I have some code to change my display as the Save dialog pops up. The issue I am having is that when the dialog comes up it stops the previous line of code from executing. How can I check to see that my code has executed before calling the function?
which shows a prompt to download the file and the prompt by default has "Open", "Save" and "Cancel" buttons with "Cancel" selected by default.Is it possible for me to hide the "Open" button and force users to eitehr save or cancel?
I'm moving applications from IIS6 to IIS7.5 (win 7 an win server 2008 r2), when 2 applications (with identity impersonate) try to get a file with response.writefile only from a UNC path i'll get "access denied". In IIS6 and Visual Studio Developer Web Server, same code works. I can save file with FilePath.SaveAs and get name and length with FileInfo, but not download. After 2 days of nightmares I have tried to change
Response.WriteFile(filePath)
to
Response.BinaryWrite(File.ReadAllBytes(filePath))
and now work. My question is: can I have a microsoft developer to sacrificate for my avenge?)
I have an query when user select any option it should redirect and open new tab in same browser, actually it worked fine in firefox and IE but in chrome it opens a new window. Below is the code.
I know this has been asked many times and have saw the posts that it cant be done and there are alternative solutions.
The caveat is that after clicking on the button this will load a new page with the target URL but I would want the current web form to remain as it is. That is essentailly two web forms side by side?
i am posting some data from my application to an external website i.e for a credit card payment
so i am using a response.write object.how to display the reposnse.write in a new window
this is my code
Dim sb As New StringBuilder() sb.AppendFormat("runat=server") sb.Append("<html>") sb.AppendFormat("<body onload='document.forms[""form""].submit()'>") sb.AppendFormat("<form name='form' action='{0}' method='post'>", postbackUrl)
I create a window dialog by calling window.showModalDialog;
In that dialog I want to execute a Response.TransmitFile like the code below. The code works fine from a non dialog window. However it just hangs if I call it from the modal dialog page. No error messages. I just doesn't do anything. Is there something else I need to do to get this to function in a dialog window?
string thePath = "c:\temp\New Text Document.txt"; Response.Clear(); Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + "New Text Document.txt"); Response.TransmitFile(thePath); Response.End();
rl711 You have to use target attribute in form tag: <form runat=server target=_blank> // new window or <form runat=server target=_top> // above all frames or <form runat=server target=_parent> //parent frame or <form runat=server target=someframe> // a frame by name
This can only work if the Server.Transfer is invoked from within the form such as a button click.
If your Server.Transfer method is in the Page_load event (which isn't a form event), how do you set a target window to Server.Transfer?
I have a button that when clicked on it will open a pdf file in the current window. Can someone help me modify my code to open in a new window? Here's what I have so far that works when the button is clicked:
First, I've taken the time to review this question which seems to be the most similar, however, the solution that seems to have been selected will not work in my scenario.Not to mention I worry about some of the comments claiming it to be brittle or an inadequate solution.
[URL]
-We have an XML document which basically contains all of the information for a Side menu.
-We have numerous URLS which are stored in a constants class.
-One of the elements in a string of XML (well call it label) is used to determine if the menu item is created as a LinkButton or a Label.
-Links use a custom user control that is used standard for all links across the application (why suggestion on similar thread doesn't work - I don't want all links to open in a new window - just one)
-One of the elements in a string of XML (well call it function) is used in a Switch statement to generate our links using Response Redirect.
It may look something like this.
[Code]....
Given this scenario, I'm trying to find the best way to quickly open a New Window, when a specific case in this switch statement is met. Can it be done with Response Redirect (this seems to be arguable - people say no it can't, yet other people say they have made it work)? If not, what alternative can work here?
My problem is that the above alert box does not appear. The download.ashx sets up the following response (which will be saved as a csv file), which works fine.
If I replace the download.ashx with a normal aspx page, then the alert appears. So my question would be: is it possible to know programatically when the dowload.ashx returned with a response?(using FF3)
Webpage A: look & feel alignments are in the central of the screen. It has a submit button. The last code in the submit command() is this message subject:
where url = another webpage B.The outcome is fine. Webpage B is populated properly. However, Webpage A postback as aligment to the left, it is no longer the center. I could not find a way to debug the issue.
I need to to export a file to the user. It takes 1-2 min to generate the file so I'd like to have the page go into a kind-of modal mode with a layover on the page and a 'Working' spinner showing. The problem is I can't make the modal stuff go away after Save File dialog is closed.
How can I remove the layover after the dialog is done?
