Web Forms :: When Click On A Linkbutton Than The One Selected, It Doesn't Highlight The Selected Linkbutton

May 25, 2010

I'm new to asp.net and I have quite an annoying issue. I have a masterpage and a number of linkbuttons to navigate through the aspx pages.

My problem is that when I click on a linkbutton than the one selected, it doesn't highlight the selected linkbutton, because postback has been initialized. Instead it highlights the linkbutton that I have specified in the Page_Load event.

I've tried to specify:

Forms Data Controls :: Use LinkButton Inside Gridview To Delete Selected Username

Mar 25, 2011

I have a "UserDetail" table in my "JobPost.mdf". I have a "Gridview1" showing the column from "UserDetail" table,which has a primary key "UserName". This "UserName" is originally saved using Membership class function. Now I add a "Delete" linkbutton to the GridView1. This "Delete" is not autogenerate button,I dragged inside the column itemtemplate from ToolBox. The GridView1's columns now become "Delete_LinkButton"+"UserName"(within the UserDetail table)+"City"(within the UserDetail table)+"IsAdmin"(within the UserDetail table)

What I need is that by clicking this "delete_linkButton",it will ONLY delete the entire User Entity on the same row (link by the corresponding "UserName") from the "UserDetail" table,as well as delete all information from the AspNetDB.mdf (User,Membership,UserInRole,etc). I would like to fireup a user confirm,but not mandatory. At least I am trying to make it functional in the correct way.

[Code]....

When I click "delete" on the first row, I need all the record about "ken" inside the "UserDetail" table to be removed. Meanwhile, all the record about "ken" in the AspNetDB.mdf will be gone, including UserinRole table. I am new to asp.net, so I don't know how to pass the commandargument of the "Delete_LinkButton" to the code-behind file LinkButton1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e), because I need one extra parameter "UserName". My partial code is listed below:

Dynamically Added Linkbutton Click Doesn't Fire (init Only) - Updatepanel And Triggers

Feb 21, 2011

When the user selects an "account" we dynamically create a linkbutton with the selected dates. However, the linkbutton onclick handler doesn't fire when the button is clicked.

Dim linkBtn As New LinkButton
linkBtn.Text = "blah"
AddHandler linkBtn.Click, AddressOf linkButtonHandler
linkBtn.ID = panelDatesRencontre.Controls.OfType(Of LinkButton).Count
panelDatesRencontre.Controls.Add(linkBtn)
ScriptManager1.RegisterAsyncPostBackControl(linkBtn)
Dim Trigger1 As New AsyncPostBackTrigger
Trigger1.ControlID = linkBtn.ID
Trigger1.EventName = "Click"
UpdatePanel2.Triggers.Add(Trigger1)

Answer: i make that in page_load, it seems to work

LinkButton's OnClick Does Not Fire In IE8 / Why Can't IE8 Accept Anything Within LinkButton

Oct 20, 2010

The following works just fine in Chrome.

<asp:LinkButton runat="server" ID="lbEdit" OnClick="lbEdit_Click">
<button type="button" class="edit">
Edit
</button>
</asp:LinkButton>

And here is the CSS for button and its subclass.

[code]...

As you can see, nothing special; just colors and beautiful things.

I click on the blue Edit button and it fires the OnClick postback just fine.... in Chrome! But if I do the same in IE8, it just does nothing; doesn't even detect a click.

I removed the tag and kept just the word "Edit", and it works just fine in IE8 as a simple underlined link; the postback fires.

So, Why can't IE8 accept anything within LinkButton?

Web Forms :: Disabling LinkButton Using JavaScript After Click - No Postback?

Dec 7, 2010

I want to allow users to click only once on button. In fact, the button is a user control:

[Code]....

That button control gives us access to OnClientClick property of lbButton. This button is used on other user control:

[Code]....

As you can see - i disable button on client-side and then return true (to do a postback). That's for only sample purposes. This code will disable my button but there will be no postback. If leave only "return true;" inside onclientclick script then i'll have my postback. The conclusion is - i can't do a postback if i disable button. The question is what's the reason of such behaviour and can i do any trick to over overcome this issue. I figured out i can hide button and still perform postback. But why it can't be disabled? There was already a thread on similar topic : [URL] but answers weren't satysfying. User Participant gave his solution there but i'm not fully understand his idea. Could someone explain to me why it can't be done my way and if it can be done by any other method?

Web Forms :: How To Highlight Selected Node In Treeview Using Javascript

Jun 30, 2010

Im using an asp.net treeview control and i managed to get code from these forums so that when i select a node no postback is done but i can access the selected node in my C# code behind pages by using javascript.

It works fine i can get the selected node by saying:

TreeNode t = TreeView1.SelectedNode;

and then displaying it to a label on an on click event of a button:

Label1.Text = t.Text;

But what i really need is to either display the node selected to a label (or textbox) or when a node is selected it needs to be highlighted so that the end user knows the option chosen is selected.

AJAX :: LinkButton Working But ImageButton Doesn't

Nov 18, 2010

I have a UserControl with a ModalPopupExtender that shows a Panel with a GridView. I use this UserControl inside an UpdatePanel.The issue is that I'm using a LinkButton in a TemplateField of the grid that sends a Command and it is working well. If I replace the LinkButton with an ImageButton, the AJAX call raises an error 500 (and I don't know how to debug it). As I understand, the ImageButton will send the same CommandName to the same OnRowCommand handler as the Linkbutton.

Gridview Buttonfield Works LinkButton Doesn't?

Apr 7, 2010

This is the grid

<asp:GridView ID="annonceView" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="Id" DataSourceID="dataSourceAnnoncer">
<Columns>
<asp:BoundField DataField="Productname" HeaderText="Productname" />
<asp:buttonfield buttontype="Link" commandname="Delete" text="Delete"/>
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Administration">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lnkBtnDelete" runat="server" Text="Delete" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="Delete" OnClientClick="return confirm('Delete?')" />
/ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
<asp:LinqDataSource ID="dataSourceAnnoncer" runat="server" ContextTypeName="Namespcae.TheContext"
EnableDelete="True" TableName="Annoncer">
</asp:LinqDataSource>

Clicking the buttonfield deletes the record just fine. Clicking the LinkButton doesn't work. I get a postback and the grid is shown as empty and no record is deleted. Seems like an empty databinding. I have tried to create a custom OnClick, OnCommand event for the LinkButton, but neither are fired. The OnRowCommand isn't fired either.

I don't manually DataBind in the codebehind.
