is it possible to be able to change the WebSecurity login page ? in the _start.cshtml for exemple ? because sometimes you need to put the login page in another folder or change the name of that page ( if i speak french , i aint gona call my page login). I know i can to a Response.Redirect but it forces me to create fake login pages for nothing.
Is there a way to translate things which are sitting in Microsoft.Web.Helpers.dll? For example: to upload file tghe FileUploadHelper gets called and user is presented with two edit boxes plus 'Browse...' and 'Upload' buttons and 'Add more files' label - all this I'd like to translate as it looks really weird if I mix the languages on website.
I'm wondering if it is possible to include Microsoft.Data.Entity.CTP.dll reference to WebMatrix site and if the Compact edition of the database would support it? I'd kinda love use something like
code-first development in my WebMatrix project. I think is even easier than writing SQL-s into the code...
I know that System.Web.WebPages.WebPage has a read-only Model property of type dynamic.
By default this property is null when accessed in a Razor cshtml page. My question is if I want an Mvc-style approach (without using full-fledged Mvc3) how would I set Model to something before the page renders?
Just in general, where can I find the code to take a look at and learn from them? Or at least look at the functions available to me as I do get the feeling that the insufficient documentation at the moment reveals all.
I'm trying to follow a tutorials on how to use helpers to use video, audio, Twitter, etc. And for that I need Microsoft.Web.Helpers. But when I try to add it via NUPACK, the whole application crushes. Even when I remove the package, the application never recovers. Below is the error I'm getting.
[Code]....
Where can I get Microsoft.Web.Helpers so that I can just add it manually to my project.
I'm new here. Noticed that most posts are related to WebMatrix as a tool, not WebMatrix-WebPages programming. Also WebPages does not require WebMatrix at all. Perhaps there's another forum for WebPages, otherwise I would suggest to split this forum into two. WebMatrix | WebPages,
when I try to change the Behavior component's id in $create() I receive an exception when running the web page with the component control on it:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: The id property can't be set on this object.
how then to change the Behavior's id? I know it is impossible to change the id of a Sys.UI.Control component, but the web control I created has a Behavior client side API.
I have two Main Tabs and in a TabContainer.I have 5 Second Level Tab Panels under Main Tabs. Two MainTabs work as mode: find and work:The default is Find Mode with First Tab visible.the user selects some field and the result is displayed in the same Panel in a GridView. When the user views the result it is displayed in the second TabPanel of the Second Level Tab which is then set to visible while other 3 tabs are still invisible.I want to go back to the Find mode and have it in the orignal state.Same thing with the Main Tabs: When I am in work mode: the other 3 tabs are visible and the previous two Tabs are invisible. When I want to go back to Find Mode. I want to retain the what the user had selected in the 2nd level Tabs before moving to the Work panel.
I have created a site with webmatrix. When I try to run it, it says it cannot because it needs admin right to make the connection to port.I tried to run Webmatrix with admin right it doesn't change anything.
Created a site using the StarterSite template in WebMatrix and am trying to change the default login page url from Account/Login.cshtml to /Signin.cshtml. I've tried setting the loginUrl under the authentication section in web.config to no avail
Scenario: If you create a table with a column of type nvarchar, populate it with some content and try to modify it using the WebMatrix editor, from nvarchar to ntext, it does not display any error message or warning that this is not possible. It silently saves and reverts the change, back to nvarchar. Wasted some hours on this issue as I thought my column was ntext, but in fact was still nvarchar.
Expected behavior: It should change to ntext, or if SQL CE doesn't support that, it should notify the user that no change was applied.
I've tried setting the <pages pageBaseType="DynamicWebPage" /> value in web.config, but when I response.write out the page type, I'm still getting Microsoft.WebPages.WebPage.
I'm simply trying to sub-class WebPage and add some additional functionality such as a dynamic PageData dictionary similar to Phil Haack's dynamic ViewData dictionary.
What i need to do is to make one of the cells change colour depending on the result. So say if the What column showed 1, 2 or 3 or would show in the table red green or amber.
so I've set up the table as described.. (seems to be some directions missing with regards to, is identity? and is Primary Key? and what those values are and should be set to for name, description, and price durring table setup) So, ive tried to set the table up as directed and then go on to click DATA which allows me to fill in the table. I can fill in the table all the way accross but when i reach the end of the first row it says:
INVALID DATA your change could not be committed to the database. after you click OK you can fix the invalid entry or press to cancel your changes.
I've found a Webmatrix help article that says MS Webmatrix "publishes the (SQL Server or MySQL) database by creating scripts that run in a database that has been created for you by your hosting provider." That is wonderful, except I can't get it to work when I'm trying to publish a MySQL database (backing wordpress) through FTP (my hosting provider does not support 'web deploy'). Again, no problem, since it is already documented that " FTP protocols cannot be used to publish MySQL database. " But this does not excuse Webmatrix from generating MySQL database install scripts for me. During the publishing step, no database install script is generated - at least that I can tell - and there is no manual option to create a database export / backup / install script.
In short, as Webmatrix goes, I'm dead in the water trying to get my database uploaded to my hosting provider. Does anyone know the trick to force Webmatrix to create the MySQL database install scripts on my local box? Once created, I can take-over the upload and install process.
I'm having a problem with Microsoft Report Viewer reports in local mode...
A little background info:
I have a flat data file which I load into memory (split into fields in a dataset) and need displayed in a report. The data structure of this file is hierarchical with about 4 levels: File, Batch, Entry, and AdditionalInfo. The amount and names of the fields in the Entry records change depending on a field in their parent's Batch record (lets call this field BatchType). So while I'm reading Batches i need to look at this BatchType field to know how to read/display the child Entries.
Problem:
Since my Entry sections in my report will be different depending on the BatchType field in the Batch record, I researched a bit and found out that the only way to do this was to do subreports. I figured I'd have to have a different subreport for each Entry type. However, I've been unable to find a way to change the ReportName parameter in the subreport object during runtime. I dont even know if it's possible to change a subreport's ReportName on the fly.
