What Email Service Provider Can Connect A .net Mail Client

Jan 25, 2011

Every month I have to email out links to demo music tracks that I make. I have like 30 labels and it takes me ages to write out an email to each one. I dont want to purchase my own domain name yet so is there a free email provider that I can sign up to that will allow me to use .net library to automatically send out messages?

Email - How To Send Mail From Google / Yahoo Or Other Mail Domains?

Mar 3, 2011

I have a "Contact Us" page where in users will give in their email id and a query and on submitting the form, web admin would receive that email.

If I configure their email id to "from" MailAddress and send the mail, it will fail to do so if the ID is from popular mail domains like gmail or hotmail but would work with other unpopular or non existent domains like me@abcxyzmail.om without any credentials provided!

It worked with gmail after I configured SMTP and network credentials properly. The aim is to let the admin of my website who receives the email be able to hit the reply button in his mail client and see the "to" field populated with the "from" field filled in "contact us" page. Is there any proper way to do this or a tip or trick to accomplish it.

Custom Provider Password Reset Client?

May 4, 2010

I'm looking for guidence on writing a custom password reset UI, but it must fit the Provider 'Pattern', or degrade silently to built-in defaults. E.g. my Reset Control must collect extra information, and perform differently to the standard Password Recovery Control. It must close as possible use the standard MembershipProvider interface for standard functions, and only use an extended interface for the non-standard stuff.I'd like some reading on issues such as, what must I ask the Membership Provider for, and what must I do myself. What must I tell the provider (service?) about what I do?

VS 2010 Conditional Membership Provider From Email Address?

Feb 28, 2012

I inherited a project whereby a website is utilizing the Membership Provider to allow for new account signups. This site utilizes different domains which point to the same root. In code, different pages are displayed based on which domain was used to connect to the site.

The Membership Provider sends an email confirmation to the end user upon account signup, based on (I'm guessing) some hard coded config value for that contains the From email address. Is there anyway to conditionally specify this From email address at run time? Or is it only possible to use a hard coded config value for this email address?

Connect To WCF Web Service

Jan 24, 2011

I'm new to WCF web services never done anything with them before and I'm being asked to create a page to connect to a WCF web service I have no idea where to start and I've searched the internet with no success. Does anybody have an example of an asp.net page connecting to a WCF web service? I've set up the WCF web service on my server but do not have a clue on how to actually connect or query it to get my XML data back.

The WCF web service is set up as it's own URL and only has 2 files within the root one being the web.config. I somehow need to query this URL and get some XML data back from it.
