View 3 RepliesI'm using the Autocomplete extender, it works great however I need to be able to display multiple columns from my stored procedure as have in the example below. The user enters a location #, I need it to display the location number and the address formatted, but when the user selects the correct location, I ONLY want the location number to populate my textbox:
1234
Address
City, State Zip
I've had a real hard time trying to figure out how to do this,. Here's my stored procedure and CS code.

Here's my CS:

I need to develop funcionality where the autocomplete extender takes a value from textbox1 (which contains zipcode4) and a value to autocomplete on textbox2 (which will contain zipcode3) and displays a list of zipcode3.
View 2 RepliesI have Check Box list in Asp.Net, contains week days like as (Monday to Sunday)
I want to store the checked values as 1, non checked values as 0, as Binary format.
Say for example: 0000011 (Monday ,Tuesday selected)
[code]
I have hooked up a textbox to an autocomplete extender control and it seems to work fine with me restricting what is displayed as the user types via a web method in the code behind. I am using the CreateAutoCompleteItem key value pairs method. I have also created an OnClientItemSelected event which can update the value of a hidden field.The problem I have is when the user might want to retrieve a record and I want the textbox to display the correct value when the page loads. If possible making my textbox have key value pairs, etc.

View 6 RepliesI'm creating just simple autocomplete sample.
taking one textbox adding autocomplete extender as
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager2" runat="server">
<Services>
<asp:ServiceReference Path="WebService.asmx" />
</Services>
</asp:ScriptManager>
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" EnableTheming="True" ></asp:TextBox>
<cc1:AutoCompleteExtender ID="AutoCompleteExtender1" runat="server" MinimumPrefixLength="1" ServiceMethod="GetCountryInfo" ServicePath="WebService.asmx" TargetControlID="TextBox1">
</cc1:AutoCompleteExtender>
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" onclick="Button1_Click" />
Also creating web services as "WebService.asmx" & code inside this file is that
<%@ WebService Language="C#" CodeBehind="~/App_Code/WebService.cs" %>

then in Webservice.cs file i write code as
public class WebService : System.Web.Services.WebService {
MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlCommand cmd = new MySqlCommand();
MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection con = new MySqlConnection();
//MySqlDataAdapter da = new MySqlDataAdapter();
MySqlDataReader dr;
public WebService () {
//Uncomment the following line if using designed components
//InitializeComponent();
}
[WebMethod]
public string[] GetCountryInfo(string prefixText)
{
int count = 10;
string sql = "Select * from tbl_patientmaster Where P_NAME like '" + @prefixText + "%'";
con.ConnectionString = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["HMSDBConnectionString"].ToString();
con.Open();
MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlDataAdapter da = new MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlDataAdapter(sql, con);
da.SelectCommand.Parameters.Add("@prefixText", MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlDbType.VarChar, 50).Value = prefixText + "%";
System.Data.DataTable dt = new System.Data.DataTable();
da.Fill(dt);
string[] items = new string[dt.Rows.Count];
int i = 0;
foreach (System.Data.DataRow dr in dt.Rows)
{
items.SetValue(dr["P_NAME"].ToString(), i);
i++;
}
return items;
}
this code is not working
I'm using jQuery AutoComplete Plugin in ASP.Net as outlined in the article below, so that as a user types in a .Net textbox they get a list of options to choose them. This works fine, but what I need to do now is call a server side function when the user has finished typing or has choosen a value, rather than the user having to submit the value by pressing a button.

I'm having a bit of trouble with my CheckBoxList control in ASP.NET - it seems to not store the values that I have checked (?)This is the test-code I have at the moment:
for (int i = 0; i < cbMemberTypes.Items.Count; i++)
{
if (cbMemberTypes.Items[i].Selected)
{
// do stuff
}
}
I have tried to output the amount of checked items, but it is always returning 0. I'm rather lost here, because in my other usercontrol, it works perfectly!
I have a strange problem with some float values that I pass to an Insert Query.
Example : If I pass in float value "1.4", the value stored in the Database is "1.399999976158141". The DataColumn is of type float.
I pass the float values as parameters to the query using "AddwithValue".
I am working on a Tag system for a news page designed in ASP.NET. For the system I require a TagExists method to check for tags within the database. The stored procedure I have written is below.
[Code]....
I have tried switching the procedure to return 0 if the tag exists and 1 if it does not and it still returns 0 despite the exact same testing conditions. I have also returned the actual select query and it has complained of the Tag "news" (my test item) not being an int on execution showing the select itself is definitely properly formed.
how to return list of values(single column values) from stored procedures in sqlserver 2005?
View 4 RepliesI have the following stored procedure
[Code]....
MOVE_MOD is defined as a float.
Yet within Dataclasses.designer.cs the function gets added as:
[Code]....
Naturally this is causing some issues as my C# code needs to handle decimal values. If I try to manually change the designer code to use floats, I get the following error
'System.Single' is not a valid return type for a mapped stored procedure method.
i made stored procedure like that
select AssetCode ,Description
,EquipmentID from [FATMS].[fnMaintenanceHeaderRead](@ContextUser,@ContextClient,@ContextLang,@ContextApp,@ContextOrg,'1',@fnXmlParamMaintenanceHeader)

IN
( @Status)
when i put three values for parameter (@status) not work but one value work
how to put three values please to parameter @status when excecute that stored procedure
EXEC @return_value = [FATMS].[spMaintenanceReport]
@ContextUser = N'4806',
@ContextClient = 1,
@ContextLang = N'en-US',
@ContextApp = N'FATMS',
@ContextOrg = 23,
@ActionCode = N'1',
@MaintenanceHeaderId='',
@SearchText='',
@EntryType='0',

View 5 RepliesWhile using an insert query for a certain table, can I used a select statement to know whether there's an already existing value in the stored procedure using a return value where insert occurs? Or do I need to separate a procedure?
