is fine for development, but not so good for deploying on IIS. I found a forum post that mentioned you could drop the path altogether, which dumps the temp file(s) directly in the root of my project
I am seeing temp files created in my wesite directory. The files are attributed to a page that I load from a txt file for more info. I beleive when I user clicks on the more info link and I read the textfile into the page it creates the temp file named somthing like this moreinfo.aspx~RF1630b1e.TMP does anyone know a way to clean these up other than a manual task? below is the code I use to read in the txt file
<script language="vb" runat="server"> Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim strURLNAme As String Dim MyFileName As String strURLNAme = Request.QueryString("AdultInfo") ' Response.Write(strURLNAme) If strURLNAme = "adult" Then MyFileName = "AdultMoreInfo.txt" ElseIf strURLNAme = "kids" Then MyFileName = "KidsMoreInfo.txt" End If 'Open a file for reading Dim FILENAME As String = Server.MapPath(MyFileName) 'read the file Dim objStreamReader As StreamReader objStreamReader = File.OpenText(FILENAME) 'read the entire file into a string Dim contents As String = objStreamReader.ReadToEnd() Me.lblNicerOutput.Attributes.CssStyle.Add("text-align", "Left") 'We may wish to replace carraige returns with <br>s lblNicerOutput.Text = contents '.Replace(vbCrLf, "<br>") objStreamReader.Close() End Sub </script>

Intially I was getting No http handler was found for request type 'GET' error which I solved it by referring no http handler But now I am getting the above error The details of the error are Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

I am using MS Chart Control in my Web App,after some time I got the issue "The temp directory in chart handler configuration is not accessible" in Live App,even though my web.Config file is containing every thing related to charts like...
<add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=file;timeout=20;" /> under <appSettings> <add path="ChartImg.axd" verb="GET,HEAD,POST" type="System.Web.UI.DataVisualization.Charting.ChartHttpHandler, System.Web.DataVisualization, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" validate="false" /> under <httpHandlers>

here is my code:
Protected Sub btnUpdate_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles btnUpdate.Click 'Updating User Pic fuUserPic.PostedFile.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("~ImagesUserPic" & UserID & ".jpg")) Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache) FormsAuthentication.SignOut() FormsAuthentication.RedirectToLoginPage("msg=Please login again") End Sub
what can I do to delete temp internet files to display picture after updating?
I have static content like html, css javascript stored in DB. when a user requests for these i create a temp file in virtual directory and return the url. My web app is hosted on a IIS server. On some systems on creation of a file my IIS Application pool crashes and restarts. If i disable file-monitoring though the problem is resolved, but i dont have this luxury when i am deplying at the client end. Is there any way by which i can avoid app pool crash during file creation? If not is there any way by which i can serve static content like html, css, images, xml and js without creating temp files. I would need a generalized way of handling all these data types.
I have an issue in using dot net chart control. In chart last column is not completely shown which give bad appearance and on right side of chart it looks like TickMark are enabled. I set MajorTickMark of AxisY2 disabled but still tick marks on right side.
I am using MS Chart control (3.5), and have a requirement where I need to display 2 pie charts. The datapoints for the pie charts is set programatically. My doubts are as follows:
1. Can I display both the pie charts in a single chart control and area, or do I have to use two controls? (Currently I am using two controls)
2. How can I maintain the same size for both the pie charts? This is my main concern, since the pie sizes keep changing, depending on the number of datapoints. I tried using custom properties like "MinimumRelativePieSize", but it's not working.
i'm trying to create a stacked bar chart on a vb web form using vs2010.My data source returns:
Error in Functionality Awaiting on Supplier
1IMT IssuesmActive6
IMT Issues,Awaiting on Supplier
2,IMT Issues,Awaiting on User 4
IMT Issues Closed 120
Login / Password Active
But I can't get this into a stacked chart. I know I must have to do quite a bit of work declaring what the series are and soforth, or having a different dataset but can't find any documentation on it.A link to some documentation or an example of a stacked chart from an sql datasource would be much appreciated.
I started using the awesome chart controls with my asp.net apps recently and so far they've been nothing short of breath taking. Right now I have a weird problem, on the first load of my page, the chart control appears correctly and the tooltip is correct, however, when I update it with new data, the chart displays correctly, but the tooltips are for the previous set of data.
I hope this makes sense. The first time I load the chart, the pie chart segments and tooltips are correct, after a partial postback (to get the new data), the pie chart segments are correct but the tooltips are for the previous data set.
Basically once the tooltips are set the first time, they can't be updated after that without a full page postback.
Here's how I set the tooltip:
[Code]....
Anyone else noticed this behaviour and have a work around?
Currently my only workaround is to check for a partial postback and not render the tooltip, which I'd rather not do as the tooltip display actual statistical data as opposed to the pie itself (which uses percentages).
im trying to create simple pie chart using the MS Chart controls. When my pie chart gets rendered in the browser i get padding around the pie chart that i cant get rid of. i would like the pie chart to sit up against the edge of the image with no padding or margin. in my code below the padding is highlighted in blue. i.e Chart1.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Blue;
<script type="text/C#" runat="server"> protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Set the chart type Chart1.Series["Series1"].ChartType = SeriesChartType.Pie; //add points Chart1.Series["Series1"].Points.AddY(12); Chart1.Series["Series1"].Points.AddY(45); Chart1.Series["Series1"].Points.AddY(67); //set back color of chart object Chart1.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Blue; //set back color of chart area Chart1.ChartAreas["ChartArea1"].BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Green; } </script> <asp:Chart ID="Chart1" runat="server"> <Series> <asp:Series Name="Series1" ChartType="Pie"> </asp:Series> </Series> <ChartAreas> <asp:ChartArea Name="ChartArea1"> </asp:ChartArea> </ChartAreas> </asp:Chart>

I am having a requirement, where I need to have a pie-chart, i need text around pie-chart , the text should be a hyperlink. Ex: we have 3 three fields A,B,C. A's ratio is 30%, B's ratio is 40%, c's ratio is 30% So pie chart gets divided into 3 parts, outside the graph , we should get the label A(in A's area only), when we point on , tool tip should say "A's ratio is 30 %'. I am working in .Net 3.5, VS 2008, using MS chart control(added explicitly by executing MSChart.exe.
I work now in a huge project that we build all interface as Web User Controls .. every time I want to view & test one i should add it in web page and then view .. I think in a way to develop a visual studio extension that show "View in Temp Web Page" when I make right click on a user control to allow me view user control in a generated temp web page without needing to add it in a test page each time i want to test but i don't know is there any way to achieve that ... Is it possible to develop such a thing ?
I'm using Microsoft Chart control in my ASP 3.5 application and since it's local it works well. After uploading it to my remote host, I received an error message regarding unauthorized access to somewhere on the server. So I changed the Image StorageMode to UseImageLocation. Now it works well, except that by each page browse, it produces a couple of images which I cannot get rid of. I found a deleteAfterServicing property set in the ChartImageHandler key defined in web.config and I set it to true, but it didn't help. What could I do to delete the temporary files and avoid bloating?
