View 2 RepliesI looked up the threads about this. But I couldn't do it...
this is my method in aspx.page:
public void MesajlariGetir()
{
DataSet ds = new DataSet();
SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection();
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("msjlarigetir", con);
[Code]....
i have a Web-method in my c# file and i need to sumit values to three textboxes.need to include my textboxes in to web method and assign values to that.

How can access html control from webmethod
View 1 RepliesI am to access a method on my master page. I have an error label which I want to update based on error messages I get from my site.
public string ErrorText
{
get { return this.infoLabel.Text; }
set { this.infoLabel.Text = value; }
}
How can I access this from my user control or classes that I set up?
How can I get all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName().
Below is my JQuery code:
[Code]....
The above code isn't displaying hint text when the textbox retreives focus.
I think there is something wrong with this getElementsByTagName("asp:TextBox"); , I have also tried getElementsByTagName("TextBox"); , getElementsByTagName(":textbox"); and getElementsByTagName("input"); .
But no one of them gets the textboxes array.
Can anyone tell what will be the correct syntax for getting all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName()?
I am using a user control that I created (just a .cs file not an .ascx file), that does some magic and depending on a value generated by the control, I need it to do something on the parent page that is 'hosting' the control. It needs to call a method under certain circumstances (method is on the parent control).the control is placed on the parent page like so:
<customtag:MyControl ID="something" runat="server" />
I'm dynamically creating buttons etc on the control itself but when a button is clicked, let's say for example that there's a text box on the control and if the value of the textbox is "bob" it needs to call a method on the page that's housing the control...how can I accomplish this?
I have on dropdown that show hide user control. In the user control i have Ok and Cancel button.
When the dropdown change i want to apply ValidationGroup on the Ok button that is inside UserControl.
I have created a web user control I want to change the iframe' src value when the user click on the link but the problem is that I dont have access to iframe inside the page from web user control I think there is a way because my control is in the page they have some relation perhaps I like to find something like this :
[code]...
I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs.
As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup. The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
I thought I had found a solution by using...
ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Me.GetType, UniqueID + "_Dialog_Div", containerDiv, False)
... which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered."
How are you supposed to add controls to the pages control collection from inside a user control?
Does anyone know how I would go about calling a method found in the master page code behind from a user control's code? The user control is on the master page. The method I want to call is public.
I can easily call a method found in the pages code behind using:
Page.GetType().InvokeMember("TheMethodsName", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, this.Page, null);
or I can call a method found on the master page from my aspx page code behind using:
((MasterPage_MasterPage)Page.Master).TheMethodsName();
But I am stuck because I can't find the MasterPage in my user control code behind.
I have an aspx page which has an usercontrol say UC1 for selecting query paramters.
UserControl uc1 in turn opens another user control (UC2) as a modal popup.
1. On OK click, I am setting the values of another usercontrol (uc1) from the control uc2 by invoking a page method(doAccept). It appears to call the method and values seems to be set. But the problem the usercontrol/page does not display the new value or in otherwords it is not refreshed.
If the above is not possible is there any other way to refresh the parent page.
[Code]....
I have a custom control created to autofill the box as typed in. Its working great. But if I put the control inside an Update Panel, it works for the full postback but if partial postback happens (because of the update panel), it does not work.
View 7 RepliesI have this code:
TabSecciones.Tabs.Clear(); //the panel container
TabPanel nuevoTab =
new
TabPanel();
encabezadoSeccion encabezadoSec =
new
encabezadoSeccion();
//A user control, a couple of labels and a table
nuevoTab.Controls.Add(encabezadoSec);
TabSecciones.Tabs.Add(nuevoTab);
For some strange reason, the user control is "outside" of the panels, thus visible no matter what panel is selected... if I programatically insert another control (ie: a texbox) inside another panel, it works fine...

I'm using a custom AJAX based validation control to check user name availability from database. It's working alright in my development machine but in production server we are using Windows Authentication to authenticate by domain.The control is inherited from base validator and checks for user name availability from database perfectly but on form submission at Page.IsValid check it gives the following error.
remote server returned an error 401 unauthorized
Both the form and webmethod are in the same page/file. I even tried creating webmethod in a separate standalone webservice but error still there.
Autocompleteextender not working inside an user control tried all ways. i have a custom function.. inside the cs file itself like the following :-
[Code]....
I did something like this and it worked properly when it was in aspx but when i changed all this to ascx and when i added the user control in aspx the autocomplete is not working. say enablecontext = false; i have even tried that.. its not even reaching till that function. moreover i need contextkey to validate different autocomplete controls inside my page.
I have an ajax tabcontainer on a master page that has a user control inside one of its tabs.The user control is just a gridview that gets a list populated from a DB table.The strange thing is that the gridview is displaying in VS, but when I build the site the tab is empty; no error message just nothing.Below is the code for the tab in my master page:
<ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager
ID="ToolkitScriptManager1"
runat="server">
[code]...
I have a really odd behavior here: I created a little popup dialog in jQuery UI, and in my test HTML page, it works flawlessly. When I click on the button, the popup comes up, covers the background, and remains on screen until I click on one of the two buttons (OK or Cancel) provided.
So now I wanted to add this into my ASP.NET 3.5 app. I wanted to add it to a GridView inside a user controls (ASCX), which is on a page (ASPX) contained inside a master page.The jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.1 scripts are referenced on the master page:
<body>
<form id="XXXXXX" runat="server">
<Ajax:ScriptManager ID="masterScriptManager" runat="server" ScriptMode="Auto"> [code].....
Update: OK, one problem is solved - it appears that for whatever reason, the default MS Ajax stuff is adding some kind of an "observer" to my popup dialog and closes it right away after it shows up
So I changed the OnClientClick="showDialog();" to OnClientClick="showDialog(); return false;" and how that doesn't happen anymore - the dialog box pops up and stays there until I click on either of the two buttons (OK and Cancel).
For an Umbraco project, I am trying to make a simple Ajax call.. I can't use PageMethods because I need to make the call from inside a UserControl.. I tried to do it via web service call like this:
Web service method:
[System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService]
public class MapService : System.Web.Services.WebService
{
[WebMethod]
[Code]...
The problem is, "MapService.GetCities" method doesn't get invoked..
What might be the problem here?
Alternatively, what is there any better way to make these kind of Ajax calls in a User Control?
I have an application in which inside my aspx page i have an user control which gets loaded at runtime.Inside this user control I have collapsible panel extender from ajax toolkit for which i have inserted scriptmanager tag at the starting of user control.At run time I am getting an error only one instance of script manager can be added...though I have not added script manager in my aspx apge..
