I have a 2 usercontrol on a aspx page. 1 control is having search creteria and search button and 2nd usercontrol is having gridview.
How do I bind gridview when user enter creteria and click on search button.
I have create one user control of personal details, and write the geting data from database method and Load the entities in respective field,then how to bind user control in gridview and how to accecc Id of user control in aspx page.

In the first control, I am adding a link button, and trying to attach a click event on the same. But the event is not fired.
Actually the main goal is, when the link is clicked, based on which one is clicked, I need to show second control (the values on the new controls are based on the first controls link button that is clicked).
If I use javascript, I will need to use ActiveX or is there any other way to instantiate the second control using javascript

In the same page i have a gridview which is binded by database (RecipeTable) to show the list of recipes available.
My problem is how should i bind gridview with the navigation bar selection.

Only difficulty im facing is how to bind different images in "ImageUrl" for every row of Gridview.Note: Images are not saved in DB.
This is driving me nutty... I have a gridview on a page. On the same page is a web user control with several public properties. Using the gridview's selectedindexchanging event, I try to set the user control property, but it's always null. Like this:

I don't think I understand fully how ASP.NET does inheritance of controls.I have a user control, ucBase, which has an asp.net label in the ascx file. Code behind references the label and it works fine during run time if the control is not a parent for another user parent.
If I have another user control, ucChild, inheriting from ucBase, the label in ucBase's code is always null. ucChild has no controls in its ascx fileThe server controls (like the label) needs to be declared in the ascx file and not created programmatically.What needs to be done for ucBase to see its own controls when it's a parent user control?
I would like to use the gridview paging feature and have built a gridview with a user control. The data source has lots of columns, so to make it easier I want to return a LIST<MyObject> and just pass <Myobject> into the user control rather than all the data elements. Not sure how I access the object of the data source to bind to the control. Assume it would be during ondatarowbound.
Also, my guess is there is a better way to do this than gridview. I'd take either solution that allows me to have easy paging and pass the complete object into the user control

the page is running but when i click edit image button the dropdwn shows but no data in dropdown binded it is empty.
My gridview is inside update panel.

My problem is I am setting the datasource from parent page.But if I set disable to certain columns of gridview the event of the controls inside those disabled column template gets fired. Like I have a checkbox in one column, if disable that column from parent page while data binding the check_checked event is being fired. here my code- user control aspx

View 1 RepliesI have created an asp.net usercontrol that should list users in a number of applications. For that purpose, the control renders a repeater (foreach application) which in turn renders a gridview (with users for that application).
The control renders fine, except the fact that columns in the gridview are not sortable. Nothing happens (no postback) when clicking the headers. Apparently, no JavaScript is rendered to perform the postback when clicking the header.

Physicians_certif1 is the user control. It seems the user control is loading before the SelectedIndexChanged event has a chance to set it's property.
