I have a web app where the user can create dynamic textboxes at run time. When the user clicks SUBMIT, the form sends data to the database and I want remove the dynamic controls.
The controls are created in the following code:
Table tb = new Table();
tb.ID = "tbl";
for (i = 0; i < myCount; i += 1)
{
TableRow tr = new TableRow();
TextBox txtEmplName = new TextBox();
TextBox txtEmplEmail = new TextBox();
TextBox txtEmplPhone = new TextBox();
TextBox txtEmplPosition = new TextBox();
TextBox txtEmplOfficeID = new TextBox();
txtEmplName.ID = "txtEmplName" + i.ToString();
txtEmplEmail.ID = "txtEmplEmail" + i.ToString();
txtEmplPhone.ID = "txtEmplPhone" + i.ToString();
txtEmplPosition.ID = "txtEmplPosition" + i.ToString();
txtEmplOfficeID.ID = "txtEmplOfficeID" + i.ToString();
tr.Cells.Add(tc);
tb.Rows.Add(tr);
}
Panel1.Controls.Add(tb);
The Remove section of the code is:
Table t = (Table)Page.FindControl("Panel1").FindControl("tbl");
foreach (TableRow tr in t.Rows)
{
for (i = 1; i < myCount; i += 1)
{
string txtEmplName = "txtEmplName" + i;
tr.Controls.Remove(t.FindControl(txtEmplName));
string txtEmplEmail = "txtEmplEmail" + i;
tr.Controls.Remove(t.FindControl(txtEmplEmail));
string txtEmplPhone = "txtEmplPhone" + i;
tr.Controls.Remove(t.FindControl(txtEmplPhone));
string txtEmplPosition = "txtEmplPosition" + i;
tr.Controls.Remove(t.FindControl(txtEmplPosition));
string txtEmplOfficeID = "txtEmplOfficeID" + i;
tr.Controls.Remove(t.FindControl(txtEmplOfficeID));
}
}
I have a gridview with has lots of fields. There are buttons which have CommandArgument set and which are being accessed in the RowCommand of the GridView.I am also adding a separator row with the following code.
[Code]....
After adding this separator row. I am not able to get the CommandArgument. All the values which I am declaring in the Aspx with "Eval" are Null when I access them in RowCommand. If I remove the separator row it is working fine. [Code].... [Code]....
I have a web app with a table of statistics on our salesmen's customers, and each row has a sparkline graph showing the general trend of the sales data for the last 12 months. Each page shows a particular salesman's customer list, and some of them can have an enormous number of customers = an enormous number of rows = an enormous number of sparklines (e.g. one in particular has 125 and takes 15 seconds to load).
For this reason, jQuery sparklines could not be used - they completely pinned the CPU of a user accessing a page with a lot of sparklines with IE.
So I moved on to using the Google Chart API, which worked much better, except for two issues: 1) it's on a secure site, and the Google Chart API URL is only served over HTTP (solved by using a small wrapper script to download the graph dynamically and re-serve it from our secure server); and 2) on a page with 125 sparklines, it was still very slow due to the number of requests (even when the 0-9 server prefixes are used to maximize the # of available connections).
So my next step beyond this was to try to make each of the "download/grab/re-serve image" method calls asynchronous - and it worked!
...but only on my dev box running in debug mode.
When I pushed it up to the live site, it was faster, but it left some of the images unloaded, which is of course unacceptable.
So here is what I was hoping some SO hotshot would know:
1) Why are my asynchronous method calls working while debugging, but not working on the live site?
2) Is there any easier way to get a large number of sparklines of some sort to load quickly on a secure server without making me want to tear my hair out?
2a.) Does anyone have any experience using the ASP.NET Chart Library? Is this something I should investigate?
2b.) A co-worker suggested I make my own sparkline routine using a 1x1 CSS background image and varying the height. The problems are a) it is completely un-extensible in case we want to make changes; b) it seems hacky as hell (leaves about a bajillion DIVs per sparkline in the markup); and c) I have no idea if it will be fast enough when there are 100-200 of them on one page - what are your thoughts on the feasibility of the 1x1 sprite approach?
Most of the examples of removing duplicates I saw have a list of one item only but in my case I have 3 items per record and I need to loop through each record, find the duplicate years, remove them and then return the distinct list of years along with the other data.
I have a long string containing the ,<p> </p> and <br>. I want to clean my string from all these tags and spaces. How it can be done with String.Replace() method. I am doing separately right now, it is working but is there a way to do it at once, without replace() method.
Most likely the later, I think. In my page I have a GridView, DatailsView, and the ODS. None of my commands work. For the Udate command I get a an error "ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not find a non-generic method 'UpdateVirtual' that has parameters: name, notes, active, original_ident." For the Delete command I get "ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not find a non-generic method 'DeleteVirtual' that has parameters: ident, original_ident." Yet the Insert command in the DetailsView works fine. Originally I've copied a file that performs virtually identical task, the only difference is a different database and the Select command. I had the Delete command working for for while but that one too broke. Can someone point out what I'm doing wring?
I have a generic list which contains a class called Parameter. Parameter contains 2 integers, ParamType and ParamValue. A generic list is built containing a small number of values List<Parameter> myList I have created a function which passes in 2 parameters. These are passed individually but are used to create a new Parameter within the function. The Parameter is tested against myList, and if it is found removed. In order to do this I have used the remove function, the syntax being:
I'm using some JS to show some divs.The divs' content is set up in a MultiView control in the server. Depending on certain parameters, I trigger some postbacks to make the server select the appropriate view. The problem is that everything works if I keep the alert(1); below, but stops working if I remove it.
Here is the code. I have a button which its OnClick() calls ShowEditor(), with an element and a type. ShowEditor() makes the editor's div visible after raising a postback to let the server select the correct view in the MultiView based on the type. This works fine. The editor loads and there is a div inside (vwText_Text1) which I'd like to assign an OnClick event to. This only works if the alert() is present.
I am trying to create an ASP.NET MVC application, using Spring.NET to inject dependencies. The application has three tiers: Controller, Service, and Data. I have defined the objects in the file "~Resourcesobjects.xml". My first object, UserAccountController, requires the injection of two Service-tier classes: UserAccountService and DepartmentService. So, the definition in objects.xml looks like this:
I am building a web application in asp.Net 4.0 and entity framework. I am trying to retrieve a list of products based on a collection of id's. I first gather all the id's in a collection and then pass it to the linq query. I am trying to get a functionality similar to the IN clause in SQL. The problem seems to be with the Contains() method in the Linq to entities query. Here is my Linq code:
[Code]....
I got the above Linq to entities method from here: [URL]
Imports System.Runtime.CompilerServices Namespace Extensions Public Module IntegerExtensions <Extension()> Public Function ToCommaDeliminatedNumber(ByVal int As Integer) As String Dim _input As String = int.ToString Select Case int Case Is > 99999 : Return _input.Remove(_input.Length - 3) & "k" Case Is > 9999 : Return Math.Round(Double.Parse(int / 1000), 1).ToString & "k" Case Is > 999 : Return String.Format("{0:N0}", int) Case Else : Return _input End Select End Function End Module End Namespace
And in one of my classes I'm using user.Reputation.ToCommaDeliminatedNumber I am importing the Extensions Namespace into the Class, but the error I'm getting is...'ToCommaDeliminatedNumber' is not a member of 'Integer?'. I do have other Extension Methods for Strings and Dates that work exactly as expected... I'm just at a loss on this one.
I'm very new to MVC so this is a simple issue, just can't seem to find any information on why it's happening so turning to the forums. Edit works, delete sort of works (that's another issue in itself), and details works, but create causes an issue. I've debugged the form being passed in and it's always null with default values. It's almost identical code to my edit so I'm not sure why edit works and create won't. I'd show code for the view but since it's working for edit I'm currently ruling that out as the problem. "Colleges" in this populates a dropdown in the view. Here's the code:
I have a modal pop up that I'm trying to hide after an insert has been performed. This is usually very easily accomplished by calling the hide() method. I have a close button in the same modal pop up that does this correctly. I can't seem to get this to work with another button or item inserted event of the data source or the data control though.
I'm trying to call an action method in an MVC application using jQuery. Basically what I want is to take the value of a couple of input fields and call the action method by clicking a button, passing the values of the input fields as parameters. But I only get the value of the "number" parameter, not the "year" parameter.
function selectWeek() { $('#selectWeekButton').click(function (event) { var number = $("#selectWeekId").val(); [code]...
I checked the url with an alert, as you can see, and it seems to contain both values fine. But when I check the value of the year parameter in the action method it is null.Here are the input fields:
public ActionResult Edit(string number, string year) //etc...
I know that this looks like a strange thing to do instead of just binding fields, but the reason is that these input fields and their values is not the main purpose of this View. They're just there to select another week in this timesheet application. And besides, I'm going to replace the input fields with a jQuery calendar eventually, so I will still have to do something like this.
So what's the easiest way to do this, and why isn't it working as it is?
i working in asp.net mvc project and deployed in the windows 2003 with iis 6.server.But it post method in jquery is not working after hosting. it given all path of the script is correct with Url.Content. The same Project hosted working in xp with iis5.1 it working fine.Give me any solution to run post of the jquery in the hosting server windows 2003.
I have an ObjectDataSource that I want to perform updates using a business entity i.e. Type="Object"). Since the values for the entity are within a user control, I have stored a reference to the control in Session and in the updating event, set the new instance to the value of the entity from the user contol property (which also pulls values from the form viaother properties of the control):
Protected Sub MasterDataSource_Updating(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ObjectDataSourceMethodEventArgs) Handles MasterDataSource.Updating Dim entity As New Login() Dim accountControl As AccountInfo = TryCast(Session("AccountCtrl"), AccountInfo) entity = accountControl.Entity e.InputParameters.Add("entity", entity) End Sub
My question is, how can I get the update method to pass this entity to the update method in my BLL class? It seems the Update method requires an ID or reference to the original object to use in determining whether any changes have taken place, but I don't really want to do this. In other words, I just want to use the Update event on my ObjectDataSource to pass my entity to the method ("Update") I set as a property and then let this business method handle the update of the data. Shown below, is the BLL update method I want to call:
Public Overloads Function Update(ByVal entity As Login) If entity Is Nothing Then Throw New ArgumentNullException("entity") End If MyBase.Update("UpdateLogin", entity.Username, entity.Password, entity.FirstName, entity.LastName, entity.Role, entity.Region, _ entity.Email, entity.Title, entity.TierID, entity.Street, entity.City, entity.State, entity.Zip, entity.Mobile, entity.Phone, entity.Fax) End Function
When I try to call this as it stands now, I get an error: ObjectDataSource 'MasterDataSource' could not find a non-generic method 'Update' that has parameters: ID, entity. Previously, I'd set up a long list of parameters of basic data types (string, int, boolean), but this is rather cumbersome and I was hoping to use an entity for this (FYI, I also got the same type of error when I tried this approach, but with the ID as the last parameter in the list). Perhaps what I'm doing here is atypical to how the ODS is normally used?? Has anyone done something like this successfully?
I have a DetailsView control about a store products.
When I hit the "Edit" button of the DetailsView control, I want to bind a DropDownList to list products categories and select the current product category in it.
I used the method "ModeChanged" to select the current product category like this:
[Code]....
the FindControl method DOES NOT find the "ddlCategory" (returns null) although it's present in the EditTemplateField.
I'm thinking to use "DropDownList's PreRender" event for doing the purpose I aim, but I want to know what is wrong!
I am creating an Asp.net web site which will support dynamic data. When I am creating a dynamic web site from Scratch (from template in VS) all is working fine. But when I am trying to add dynamic entity (.edmx) file and running the application I am getting following error
"The method 'Skip' is only supported for sorted input in LINQ to Entities. The method 'OrderBy' must be called before the method 'Skip'. "
I am using VS 2008 SP1. My also have included CSS Friendly adapter [URL] in my project ( I mentioned this because my GridView Empty data template is not showing when using GridView's CCS Friendly adapter). I have a GridView and a DetailsView. When a record in GridView is selected its details information is shown in the Details View. Type of Data source I am using is ObjectDataSource. My Insert and Update methods works perfectly. It is only the Delete method that is passing null values to the underlying object delete method. My source codes for both the UI, BLL, DAL is shown below
I have a master page/content page going on in this situation. The page has two page methods that work, and they feed info to a pair of autocomplete extenders. The script manager on the Master Page has 'EnablePageMethods' set to true. The content page has a ScriptManagerProxy. The strange thing is that I have used this pattern on four other pages within the project.
<System.Web.Services.WebMethod()> _ Public Shared Function testing(ByVal uid As String, ByVal issn As String, ByVal journalName As String) As String Return "true" End Function
Here is the javaScript code:
function AddJournal(uid, issn, journalName) { alert("uid: " + uid + " issn: " + issn + " name: " + journalName); PageMethods.testing(uid, issn, journalName, function(res) { if (res !== "true") { alert(res); } else { alert("The journal " + name + ", issn as " + issn + " was successfully entered."); } return; }, function(res) { alert("The journal database could not be accessed " + res.get_message() + " Status Code: " + res.get_statusCode() + " Exception Type: " + res.get_exceptionType() + " Please try again."); }); }
The fail function is executed, and the status code is 0 (zero), and the exception type is an empty string. I can change the function with no parameters, and I get same error. I can the leave the parameters at three on the VB side, and change the parameters to two on the client side; then I do not get the error message, but none the other alerts are executed.
