I am Working on an asp.net c# application.
I wish to find the url of the application. For example, my application is NRCME I want to return http://localhost:4833/NRCME/ when running locally. From the server I want to return
http://servername/NRCME/
My application name is MyApp and i added the util.dll as a reference in my MyApp. I have some forms and methods in util.dll (say frmErr.vb). Consider that i'm opening this frmErr.vb form (which is in util.dll) from MyApp so how can i find that i'm opening this form from MyApp in frmErr.vb Load function?
View 3 RepliesI deployed an ASP.NET web application last night and I when I woke up this morning it was very slow and would occasionally just throw a 'Service Unavailable' error.
I checked the Event Viewer and it was filled up with these errors:
An unhandled exception occurred and the process was terminated.
Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException
Message: Unable to find assembly 'MonoTorrent, Version=0.80.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
I'm puzzled as it was working perfectly when I deployed it (MonoTorrent is required to retrieve the number of seeders/leechers for a certain torrent off the tracker - this was working fine), but it's no longer working and whenever code that uses MonoTorrent gets involved, the worker process just crashes.
MonoTorrent.dll is in the /bin/ directory.
UPDATE 6/4/10: I compiled the MonoTorrent source code in with the rest of my web application, but it still crashes whenever it uses MonoTorrent. However, it now says that it is Unable to find assembly 'OpenPeer, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null. Here, OpenPeer is the name of the web application's assembly.
I have two web site sites on IIS 7 (Default, Custom). Both Sites host the same web application.
Some of the web application behavior changes depending under what web site it is running. Is there a way for the web application to find out what is the name of the WebSite under which it is handling the current request.
I installed visual studio team eddtion and i can't find web application projects in it . Is it the wrong version for having web application projects or .. ? I installed it full features and i don't know what could be wrong..

Since the masked edit extender dont support "keep the mask if the control is not empty" funcionality yet (which I can't understand why), I've been having a hard time on trying to do that by using javascript.What have I done?I've wrote a static method in a helper class that looks for every maskededitextender, gets the textbox related to that extender and adds onblur and onfocus events on them as shown below:

The code is not finished yet, so there may be some logic errors, but i just cant test it cuz it keeps telling me that there is an error in the "mask = $find(IDs[0]);" line...It says Object Expected. I've tryied to put the full path of that function (Sys.Application.findComponent) instead of the $find, and it says that he cant find Sys.
I need this javascript cuz the mask is now working flawlessly, except for one little detail: if the user refreshes the website by pressing F5, the not empty and masked fields keep the value but lose the mask, and i need to keep them there, so i thought to set ClearMaskOnLostFocus to false on the masks of those fields to make them appear again.Can anyone tell me why i cant use $find if running through a scriptmanager registration, but i can otherwise? it works fine on the two other javascripts above!

I would like to program an Input Box that comes up when a user clicks 'Find' button. It asks 'Please enter an employee number'. Then it takes the employee number typed into a text box and searches a dataset for that specific employee record.
I know that it should be server side because the client may not have the proper javascript installed or diabled. Therefore, can someone give me some code to put in code behind that can pop up an input box and use the input after, if this can be done?
I am trying to create strogly typed datasets for my project. When I right click on the xsd file that I need to generate a strongly typed dataset for I can't find the 'Advanced' properties as described in the below article (almost half way down)[URL]As I do not see the Advanced properties option I can't find the 'Custom Tool' property/option to set its value to 'MSDatasetGenerator'. Do I have to install some kind of patch on my VS 2005?

guess it's straightforward. On page load, i wanna check the group of which a particular belong to. Say, someADNameeckham belongs to Account. In that case, I only wanna get "Account". But I have no idea how to get the group name of a particular user belong to. It's for LAN web portal so I guess security is not a very big concern here.

Application-B in login screen we are checking user is authenticated or not and it is taking 20 sec

I'm experiencing a to me mysterious error when sending e-mails through a SMTP-server from an ASP.NET web application. I get the famous error "unable to relay for xxx@yyy.zzz". What's mysterious to me is that when I cut and paste the exact same code that sends the e-mail into an usual .NET Windows Forms application, send the e-mail with this application, it all works just fine. This made me think that perhaps the problem is that the ASP.NET application runs as NETWORK SERVICE while the Windows Forms application runs on a domain user account, but it turns out that I have another ASP.NET application sending e-mail through the same SMTP-server running under NETWORK SERVER at the same IIS, and this application does not experience this problem.
I've further tried to send e-mails through the SMTP-server manually by telnet the smtp-server on port 25 and running the SMTP-protocol manually, and it all works fine. The SMTP-server is not configured with any kind of authentication or SSL.
Another mysterious fact is that the ASP.NET application can send e-mails from an adress within the same domain to an e-mail adress within the same domain, but not to any adress outside of the domain. But the Windows Forms application, that uses the exact same code, can send e-mails from any adress to any adress both within AND outside of the domain.
So to summarize:
The ASP.NET application can send
e-mails from addresses within the
domain to adresses within the domain,
but not to addresses outside of the
domain.
A Windows Forms application running
the same code on the same computer
can send e-mails from ANY address to
ANY address.
Another ASP.NET application on the
same IIS running under the same
account (NETWORK SERVICE) can send
e-mails using the same SMTP-server
from ANY adress to ANY adress.
There is no authentication configured
on the SMTP-Server.
Both the ASP.NET application and the
Windows Forms application utilizes
the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient class
to send a
System.Net.Mail.MailMessage.
The code that sends the e-mail massage is:

a. I want to have User A as a common user for both application X and Y.
b. User A can have different roles on X and Y. Eg. Read permission on Y and Write Permission on Y.
