C# - Format The Body Of The Outlook Appointment Item
Mar 15, 2011
I am trying to create an outlook appointment from an ASP.NET web site version 2.0. I am making use of the interface Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook to create the appointment. But my exact requirement is to display the body (description) of the appointment in HTML format (which includes images, links etc) instead of plain text. The only methodI can see in the appointmentItem is 'body'. This method only writes the plain text not the formatted HTML body. So is there any alternate approach to format the description (body) of an appointment?
I have a web page, that has lists of documents for a user to look at. I have the page working to allow a user to view any of the documents when they click the link. The only thing that wont work is a document that is .msg format for Outlook emails. I did some research and found that in order to get Outlook to open the document when opening a .msg document, you have to add the MIMEType application/vnd.ms-outlook to the list of MIMETypes that IIS will accept. I gave this a shot but still couldn't get it working.
Then what I tried was to output the MIMEType associated with a .msg when I was Saving the document so I could see what it was using. When I did this I got "application/octet-steam" So then I set the .msg extention to use octet stream. This allowed the document to be open, but used Notepad which then had really messed up formatting because of the email headers etc.
Does anyone know how I might get outlook to open up and show the email when a user clicks to view that document as opposed to Notepad?
My requirement when user selects a particular mail and clicks the menu item it will display the particular mail details (To, cc, bcc, subject, Body, attachments...) in custom form.
how to add a html format in mail body message. here's my code:
MailMessage msg = new MailMessage("mail@[URL]", "tomail@[URL]", "Subject", "BODY MESSAGE WITH HTML FORMAT HERE...."); SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient("IPADD"); client.Send(msg); client.Timeout = 500; client.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
When I will click on gridview cell then it should open a pop up aspx page on which appointment details will be asked that I will store in databse. So with javascript how can I do this ?
As the title states, how can i stop two users from booking the same appointment time.
Example, two users logging, on there screen they can both see that a 1pm appointment is available. They both try to book themselves into that appointment time.
How can i stop this from happening and ensure only one user can book it, then refresh the screen to show the next available booking time to the other user.
I am beginner of asp.net and c#Currently i doing appointment website and need suggestions/ ideas. I have create a simple web form with Calender Control as picture below enable users to select date and time. At the calender control, i have set that users can only select tuesday and thursday every month using DayRender. After that i put a DropDownList to display the time.Next step, i want to store the data into database, for example UserA make appointment on Date 21 September 2010, Time 1100 and make it unavailable for other bookings. When UserB makes appointment on same Date and Time, it will display information that the slot is booked/unavailable. To implement this, what approach should i take?
Currently i am learning on create a website with appointment feature. The website i am doing basically a dental appointment web, which show the free slot of dentist on the website and enable patient to book appointment by schedule an appointment based on time and date given. I have the following line to display a piece of data and I want to know how I can format the output.
Text='<%# Eval("DOH") %>'
The data list displays the correct data, but I want to format it. The output I want is just a small date format instead of date and time. I have tried every combination of a format function I can think of, but can't seem to make it work. Am I stuck with the raw format provided by the database? I wouldn't think so, but maybe that is the case.
expected output should be 02/15/2011 instead of 02/15/2011 09:45:

I am currently building 3-tired ASP.NET 3.5 Web application which has workflows built in for manager approvals. Currently there is a dashboard on the homepage of the website where all the pending approvals are displayed in a webpart. I want to build a plugin for MS Outlook so that whenever there is a new request for approval I want that request to show up in MS outlook. Where do I start with this? Do I have to expose my business logic layer through webservices?
