C# - How To Get Page Content Using Javascript Or JQuery
May 29, 2010
I will have a widget on a remote page. In the widget I want javascript or jquery to get all the article content from the webpage and send it back to my website. I only need just the article content and not all the other information on the webpage. I would like the script to send the remote webpage url, page content, title text, and h1 text. I would not like to receive any html tags. Is this possible to do?
The script I am making is like google adsense.
Also, Ill be using c# as my backend server
will something like this work?

I have seen few website where their home page is too big and when user scroll down to read the content the of the page then few area of that page load dynamically. how they design their page. as example the site is http://blog.rainbird.me/ where you can see the effect. please give me idea to achieve it via jquery & ajax.
I have a some data which is displayed in div body now i want to import that div content in excel format so how can i do this using javascript/jquery or even c#
I have implemented a lot fo JQuery features into my ASP.Net web application. I am using JQuery, JQueryUI, JQuery Validation and a couple of other plugins. They are all coexisting and working fine. This one page in my app has the JQueryUI tabs, Modal progress pop-up working just fine. This page also has a couple of JQuery AJAX calls to my server side events. That all works fine!
I just added a Jquery date picker to one of the text boxes on the first tab on my data entry form and nothing happens or is displayed when you click on the date textbox. I am going to post the HTML markup for the page and my JQuery code. Please let me know if you see anything glaring? HTML
I have a nested master page. A parent master page, a child master page and a content page whose master page is the child master page. I have a reference to jQuery in the parent master page in the head section.<script type="text/javascript" src='<%#ResolveUrl("~/includes/jquery-1.4.2.min.js") %>' ></script> & Page.Header.DataBind(); in the OnLoad event.
I am using jQuery in all the pages including the master pages. However I am getting "Error: $().ready is not a function" in the content page. If I include jQuery reference in the content page it works. Question: If the reference to jQuery is in the master page head section, why aren't the content pages able to use jQuery? When I do view source, the script tag with jQuery is there and it works. The master pages and content page are merged during rendering and sent to the browser as a single html page so I am not sure when master pages are used, jQuery references break.
UPDATE:
When I changed '$.ready(function()' to 'jQuery(document).ready(function($)' it worked! I am not loading any other javascript libraries and I am not using MS Ajax.
"JQueryPage.aspx" is just a page that contain DIV called 'resultsDIV' that contain the data that i want to return the above code return data variable that contain "JQueryPage.aspx" html and i want to get DIV content from it .
i have 2 questions:
1- how can i extract DIV content from data object 2- is this way is th best to get that data ?
I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery What can I do about this? I don't have the 'root' operator in a plain 'script' tag.
I want to call a javascript method during page load. I am using application.master of the sharepoint server 2007 as the master page . In the content page i want to call a custom method named OnLoadFun() during loading the content page. I have written the function inside script tag in the PlaceHolderAdditionalPageHead id section of the content page.
[Code]....
How do i call the OnLoadFun method so the i is being called onload time. i tried putting window.onload=OnLoadFun surrounded by script tag within the PlaceHolderMain content section.
I have a javascript function on my Master page, how do I access it with a dropdownlist of a content page. Not from codebehind, I can do that, but from the control itself such as the onSelectedIndexChanged event.
I have a control in a content page that I want to find the width and left attributes of the style. I am trying to find this from Javascript code that exists on the Master Page. How do I do that?
I am developing a webapplication with maser page. there i have a lebel, control. i need to update its value from the content page, and only by the javadscript.
i am doing:
[code]....
The second question is, how could i initialize(to NULL) my master page value from the content page .
All my app are master-content design. Questions: Where to load jquery? In master page or content page? There is no head tag in content page, if loading jquery in content page, how to load it?
In my ASP.Net 2008 app I've got a page that uses a Master Page and I want to use jquery/javascript but I can't even get this simple code to work. the page loads and controls display but no alert.
I have a master page in asp.net and a content page with some basic asp.net controls like textbox, buttons, treeview.i have a jquery script in the content page and reference set to the jquery file..The script changes the text property of a button on the keydown event set for the textbox...the script works fine if i copy and paste it in a normal page...the script only ran once when i worte it for the first time the next day when i tried to run the script it was not working..i m facing this problem for running the script in content page and i a m not aware of how to write jquery script for the content page.
I would to know how can it be achieved by loading page content into a specific DIV without entirely refreshing a page. I mean if I click on linkbutton or a normal link on my menu bar like Contact us, the conact us content is loaded into the DIV and the same if another link is clicked on the menu Bar.
I have a form in my content page for which I am doing some client side validations via Javascript. The Javascript behaves as expected if I place the JS code directly in the content page. But if I place the JS code in it's own file and try accessing that from the content/master page (through the script tag's src attribute), I get a run time error when the validation function in JS being called.
To be specific, I get the below error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Objected expected/required at this line document.getElementById('<%=txtemailId.ClientID %>').value
txtemailId is in the content page.
Javascript code is placed in validation.js and accessed via master page.
The reason I guess is that when .net is parsing the files, it is unable to substitute txtemailId.ClientID with the client side value that would be generated later on. So, how should one go about it?
I have java script code to set some of the properties of ajax controls.
the code is working OK If I put it in asp.net page but when I use content page and post the code in part of the code will not work which is changing the value of ajax control properties.
My page has textbox, checkbox, MaskedEditExtender and MaskedEditValidator. when the user check the box the mask property and some other properties should change.
I have created a great stand-alone web form in asp.net utilizing many jQuery features and CSS. It works fine. When I re-create it as a web content form as part of a MasterPage, my jQuery and javascript is completely ignored.
I am referencing the pertinent jQuery and CSS in my of the MasterPage. I have a content placeholder at the bottom of the masterpage called "ScriptContent". In my content page, this is where I plug in the various jQuery methods and javascript.
When I view the page source everything is there. However, it's all being ignored so to speak. What am I doing wrong?
I have this problem in loading contents of the site where there's a certain time that those elements that supposed to be hidden are shown for a while before the page is completely loaded.
Everything below the dropdown is supposed to be hidden and they show atleast a second that is very noticeable, that I still have the time to have a screen shot. Below is when the content is completely loaded.
Everything inside the content is inside an UpdatePanel, and I am using a jqTransform to transform the form elements. I know that jqTransform is called after all elements is loaded, but I just don't understand why it is showing the hidden elements before the page is completely loaded.
Is there any work around this one that I will only show directly the completely loaded page instead of showing the hidden elements before hiding them?
FYI: Elements hidden will be shown according to the value selected on the dropdown. If the element is hidden before the jqTransform is called, once I show them back, it is unusable or cut off.
i m using master and content page and i have created Usercontrol for Left menu of jquery but my menu working fine in html markup but not in content page
