C# - How To Save Image From Another Website Programmatically

How to save image from another website programmatically? Using asp.net c# for example I wouldlike to create request on Google to search something for example beer and from search result save images using asp.net web application
Let's say I am creating a image hosting website. My potential users will be somewhere around 1 Million, and every user potential has 10,000 images, and I need to serve over 1000 images per second.
So, I bought a diskarray, with 10T storage, SAS 15K SCSI drives.
The problem is: What is the best way to save those files on disk? How to organize the folder structure to make sure NTFS can find one file from a billion files under a huge tree folder quickly? I mean, serve 1000 images per second is non trivial issue. My current website is serving over 100 images per second, and I already see the performance problem: NTFS can't find the file fast enough! And of course, my folder structure is not good enough either.
I have written a website and let the user upload their photo. It also resizes the picture to 400 x 400 and crops automatically to the center part of the picture. All of this works good but each file is about 355K each for JPG and PNG file formats. I just tried GIF and it is 49K but the picture is grainy when saved this way. Is there any way I can get the picture to a smaller file size with keeping it at 400 x 400? I really thought PNG would be the way to go and was surprised by it being the same as jpg. I don't want to lower the quality either for JPG files.
Username Role admin1 Admin admin2 Admin user1 User user2 User
as you can see that in second web.config, i gave access to users with "Admin" role and "user1" user. for giving access to "admin" folder, i wrote the following:
this is working fine when i run it from visual studio development server, when i host it in IIS, im getting the following error
Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'F:dotnetsamplesmyprojUIhrf-q_g-yn.tmp' is denied.
I want to display an image, be-able to drag small images on to the large image and then save the new image. Image having a photo as an image and wanting to put number blobs on and each number blob refers to a piece of text almost like labelling photo. I know how to drag and drop images using jquery but not sure how I would save the thing as a new image.
Searching StackOverflow, I found this question on how to Retrieve SMTP settings from Web.Config, but no details on how to update the SMTP back to the web.config file.
I started working on a website using 2010 Express. However, the hosting company that I am using hasn't fully implemented .NET 4.0. I'm wondering if there is a way that I can save my website for compatability with 2008 express. Then I can finish and publis using 2008 Express.
I've to download files from our 38 clients secure websites. They are our data resources. Currently data collection process is manual. Logon to the site, login with username and password, then download files, save to local folder, close window once download is completed. We are trying to automate download process. Plan is to handle login part with code and directly show list of filename to User with check box , so User can select files and click to save.
Rest all will be handled programtically. Once download is complete the status for that file will change to "Saved" or "Download Complete. I'm working on Window 7, VS2008(C# asp.net). Trying to make it work with WebClient class. It'll be great if you can post some source code or guide me to link or post for solution.
I am working on a website, using C# with a SQL backend. I'm using the Varbinary data type to store my images because the Image data type is eventually going away. I got the images into the DB and can pull them back out to display on the website. My question is how can I put the images from the DB into an Image control on the website? The images will be different sizes, so I need to keep them confined in one space on the site. I also need to randomly display the images, one at a time, on the website. The user needs to be able to hit the Next button to see the next image when they are ready. The user will only view the images, not make any changes and send data back to the DB.
Since the image will be confined within the image control, how can I allow the user to click on the image and open in a new window? The image needs to be bigger to allow the user to see more detail. Or would it be easier to allow the user to zoom in on the image within the current window?I am using VWD Express, C# 2010 Express & SQL 2005 Express.
I am working on a localization project, some of the localized text are in graphics, some of the example graphics paths:
/en/images /es/images /fr/images
My web forms use <asp:image> controls and <img> tags (runat = sever) to point to graphics in /en/images. I need to a function to loop through all image control and point them to different paths based on the locale set at runt time. Which event should I override and how do I write it?
All my web pages inherit from a base page, I don't know if that makes differences.
I know how you can set an tag's url attribute programmatically in c#, but it seems when I try to access the image element inside of a tag I cannot access it. The is residing in the <AlternatingItemTemplate>. NOTE: I am only having this issue inside the <AlternatingItemTemplate> Now the ListView tag is also databound.(this is probably why I cannot access, because it isn't guaranteed that it will even exist perhaps). How can I get around this so that I can display my images programmatically or is there a better solution?
Right now, I have all the employees of my company login to an external website using the company id, username and a password. We are trying to integrate it into an intranet portal which should provide seamless access to this website without requiring the user to enter these credentials.
Is there any way of doing this programmatically (.NET C#)? Very similar to screenscraping, Can I simulate the appropriate POST action and then redirect the user to the logged in page?
I have a list of image names stored in a database, along with the id of the property they are associated with. I'd like to be able to display all of the images in a gridview and then allow the user to select the required image.
The problem I'm having is that the gridview is not displaying. I'm pretty sure it's something basic that I've missed, but can't for the life of me see what it is!
