I try to pass Package variable to my UserControl: <uc:Template ID="Template" runat="server" Package="<%=TemplateParams.SimpleSearch %>" /> but with no luck - in UC it gives me <%=TemplateParams.SimpleSearch %> string instead of SimpleSearch parameter from TemplateParams class.
im creating site with usercontrols. I have repeater, inside it is another repeater with usercontrol. My problem is passing BindedValue to usercontrol.Bindings works fine and binds the value i need but it cannot pass the value to usercontrol. When i type it manually it works, when i bind it, it passes null (!).I've tried get,set, functions (ondatabound, onload, oninit), accessing control from code with no luck. Ive read and tried to do all the google solutions but with no luck. (even with creating usercontrol inheritance)
I have been trying to install VS 2008 profesional in my computer, I am getting this error "Package Visual Web Developer HTML source editor package has failed to loas properly GUID = BFCC0C3C-6F87-4285-A6C8-BB1606180OD Please contact package vendor for assistance, application restart is recomended , due to possible environment corruption.
I'm looking for any and all information on how to execute an SSIS package from my asp.net web site. I have written the call and when I run the application from (Localhost) it works, but when I run it from the server it does not.
Here is my code to call and execute the package:
[Code]....
Again this works from my local machine running from localhost, but not from our live server. I have turned on impersination to see if that worked and still getting the same result. The file is written successfully to the server without issue, but I'm just lost.
I have the problem that when i´m adding my usercontrol to my default page the events do not fire. I already know that I had to add the usercontrol as soon as possible to the lifecycle, but I can´t because I know the number of buttons after clicking on my default button.
code:
my default.aspx.cs page protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { addPruefstation aP = (addPruefstation)this.LoadControl("addPruefstation.ascx"); aP.ID = "ucPruefstation"; Session["ucPruefstation"] = aP; } base.OnInit(e); } protected void bApply_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e) { int anz; Int32.TryParse(((TextBox)tablePruefstand.FindControl("tbPruefstandstationen")).Text, out anz); //here i´m getting the number of buttons Session["anzStation"]=anz; addPruefstation aP = (addPruefstation)Session["ucPruefstation"]; aP.anz = anz; Session["ucPruefstation"] = aP; phPruefstation.Controls.Add(aP); } my usercontrol.acsx.cs: public int anz; protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { for (int i = 0; i < anz; i++) { tcButton=new TableCell(); trPruefstation = new TableRow(); tcEmpty = new TableCell(); tcLabel = new TableCell(); tcTextbox = new TableCell(); tcLabel.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("Anzahl Leaks")); tcTextbox.Controls.Add(new TextBox() { ID = "Leak" + i, Text = "0", AutoPostBack = false }); ImageButton imgButton = new ImageButton() { ID = "" + i, ImageUrl = "~/Img/1rightarrow-256.png", Height=15}; imgButton.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(imgButton_Click); tcButton.Controls.Add(imgButton); trPruefstation.Cells.Add(tcEmpty); trPruefstation.Cells.Add(tcLabel); trPruefstation.Cells.Add(tcTextbox); trPruefstation.Cells.Add(tcButton); tablePruefstation.Rows.Add(trPruefstation); } base.OnInit(e); } void imgButton_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e) //this event never be fired { throw new NotImplementedException(); }
I have a UserControl (lets say Foo.ascx) that has a Type public property with the name Bar. I am looking for a way that when i declare this usercontrol in the source view of the markup part to pass a type. for example
how can it be done? Before anyone asks, the reason is that i have many other properties in this usercontrol that i pass in this manner and i want to avoid using the CodeBehind just to pass the Type
I need to read a Property/variable from outside the webpart usercontrol to determine a course of action. This is not the same as using the Property Editor.
I have numerous usercontrol webparts all accessing the database.
When minimised, I don't want the webpart to hit the database.
So, I need to either : detect within the usercontrol webpart itself that its chromstate is minimised and therefore not access the database (and)or from the Webpartmanager loop through webparts, determine those that are minimised and set a variable / property within the webpart to inform it not to access the database on postback.
Something like...(pseudoCode)
for (int i = 0 ; i < webpartmanager1.webparts.count ; i++ ) webpart wp = (webpart)webpartmanager1.webpart[i]; if (wp != null) if (wp.ChromeState == PartChromeState.Minimized) { // set a known variable in this particular webpart so it can determine whether to refresh its datagrid or gridview or whatever } }
OR Can a usercontrol webpart determine its own ChromeState ????
What are the available ways to pass a parameter to a UserControl ?I know the session option but actually I don't prefer it because it'll retain when any exception is occurred. I mean I prefer something like the QueryString (rely on the call or request).Note: My UserControl will be shown throught a modal popup using JQuery.
i need to bind the menu dynamically,i put the menu in the UserControl and i pass to it QueryString["menuid"]or example if i put in hyperlink [URL]bind all the submenus based on the menuid=1 i got the error when i did this HierarchicalDataBoundControl only accepts data sources that implement IHierarchicalDataSource or IHierarchicalEnumerable.Description:An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: HierarchicalDataBoundControl only accepts data sources that implement IHierarchicalDataSource or IHierarchicalEnumerable.Source Error:
I tried both, loading the usercontrol when needed and I also tried adding it directly into the aspx.
Nothing worked. With the second one (what's meant to be the easiest option) I tried with delegates and events (but can't access de usercontrol event from page) and tried with properties (I can access properties but they're always empty)
Senario: Masterpage with a UserControl and a child ASPX page
In the past when using this senario I've used an Interface as a way to pass a value from the UserControl (embedded in a master page) to the masterpage code behind then consume that value in the child aspx page.
My question is now that asp.net 4 have arrived is this still a good way to achieve this or is there another or perhaps better way to do it? I've read somewhere that perhaps "delegates" is perhaps another route to take.
I have two files in my project. One is user control (popup) customerpicker.ascx and one is default.aspx page. In customerpicker I have dynamically generated gridview and 'select' column with SelectButton.
What I want is this: When I click on 'select' on random row in gridview, then I like to display value from selected row immediately (like ajax) to aspx.page. How it is possible?
I have designed a asp.net page which create graphs. I have written a class file (which contain a function to render the graph,a function for entering data named insertdata(string[] s,double[] d)) in App_code folder. I pass the value into the insertdata during page load_event. I saw a feature of googlechart.when you pass the value in url address bar it will create a graph according to that passed value. how can i pass the value into the insertdata() function through url address?
I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.
I don't know if this is even possible, but here goes: I have an ASP.NET page that contains an IFrame that calls an HTML page. Is it possible to pass a variable from the ASP.NET page to the HTML within the IFrame? More specifically, I'd like for the ASP.NET page to fill in one of the fields on the form within the HTML page.
for(var i=0; i<<%=Model.Mydatalist.Count%>;i++) { //then I need to pass i to Mydatalist like Model.Mydatalist[i] } //var myJSdata="<%Model.Mydatalist["&i&"]%>";
is not working.. as system see i (i's value) as a string, and will throw exception: cannot convert string to int.
I guess I'm missing something here, but I can't find a way to pass a simple variable from my code behind file to the .aspx page. In code behind I have:
Dim test As String = "test" and in my aspx page I try: <%=test %> that gives me the following error: Error 2 'test' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level
Using Vb.net I created a html table with a hyperlink column to another ASPX.Net page. The page I am linking to has a text box that accepts a customer number and a button (NEXT) to link to another ASPX.Net page. When I link to the first page, the customer number is not in the textbox. Also, I do not know how to execute the NEXT button so it links to the final page.
public ActionResult Details(String UserName) { using (var db = new MatchGamingEntities()) { var Users = from m in db.Users join m2 in db.MyProfiles on m.UserId equals m2.UserId where m.UserName == UserName select new UserViewModel { UserName = m.UserName, LastActivityDate = m.LastActivityDate, Address = m2.Address, City = m2.City, State = m2.State, Zip = m2.Zip }; return View(Users.SingleOrDefault()); } }
I type in the url Profiles/Details/hello, but it does not work, if I do Profiles/Details?UserName=hello then it works. I have another ActionResult just like this except taking in an int id as parameter and it works fine with the first url format.
