Using the client API,I'd like to be able to do this:

Without the valueChanged event handler firing,is there another way in the API to do this?Again this is all client-side JavaScript.
I have an Asp.net GridView (populate with a data binding).One of my columns is a ButtonField (obviously with his own CommandName).The *GridView_RowCommand* works perfectly, but if i add a *GridView_RowDataBound* (in which I simply add a javascript confirm) the *GridView_RowCommand* event is not fired in the PostBack.

In the following procedure a_end_date may or may not be null.
If the input string is null, I tried to set a_end_date to null.
It is giving error.
The same result if I try to set it to dbNull.

This works as expected: Client wo request a specific localisation get it, everybody else is happily looking at the en-GB settings
Requirement:I have 2 tabs in the 2 tab i have a text box in that i have to select date today or before for that i am using ajax calendar control.
Problem: If i select a date below 11 in the calendar control it is not throwing error but if i select a date from 11 and above it is throwing a error.

I'm trying to create a report (rdl) againt SP list.
I have a Date parameter, just 1.
When a user is selecting a date. It checks against my queried date, a day before and a day after. It works fine.
When a user is NOT selecting the date. I want the my queried date between a MINIMUM date and a MAXIMUM date. Since I couldn't find the Min & Max date in SSRS report filtering, I trying to hard code the date.
I tried DateValue(...with variety of different format...), as well as CDate(...with variety of different format...).
None of them is working. What exactly is the format SSRS accepting?
As for my CDate(Fields!ows_Date.Value)'s result, it is displaying as "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss", I also tried that format, and still, not working.

I would like to set a default date, not the current date ( say 31/11/2011) for the calender control. What date format should I be using for the datetime variable so the calender control accepts the date. i have an administrators page that gets a list of the users that are members of my site and i want to display their profile each time i clikc on the user name.
In order to do so, i use the following code:

This way, the last activity date is updated and the IsUserLogedOn property is set to true, without the user actually enter the application (since it is a calculated value that depends on the last activity date). As a result, each time i click a user name to view his profile, the user seems to be loged in.
I would like to generate an excel sheet aout of a table in asp. The exporting works fine using an in-house developed framework to export the table. The problem that I'm having is that dates are just written in columns as strings and not initialized with the proper cell format. Is there any way to format the date without any 3rd party software by just setting the value of a cell with a string??

I m working with VS-2005 without ajax functionality(With out Update Panel). I have a gridview which has a two colmn inside first column there is image. Whether I add the handler during itemdatabound or I add the handler within the repeater itself, it doesn't seem to matter...the event itself doesn't fire. The AutoPostback itself seems to fire, but the event itself doesn't.
I'm running VS 2008 and .NET 3.5 SP1.
I want to implement hit tracking in an HttpModule in my ASP.NET app. Pretty simple, I thought. However, the BeginRequest event of my HttpModule is firing twice for each page hit. The site is very simple right now...no security, just a bit of database work. Should log one row per page hit. Why is this event firing twice?
Moreover, IHttpModule.BeginRequest actually fires a different number of times for the first page hit when running for the first time (from a closed web browser)...3 times when I'm hitting the DB to provide dynamic data for the page, and only 1 time for pages where the DB isn't hit. It fires 2 times for every page hit after the first one, regardless of whether or not I'm touching the DB.
It's interesting to note that Application_BeginRequest (in Global.asax) is always firing only once.

Actually I want a date time picker which date dd/mm/yyyy format date. With validation for start and end date. Also for manual entry it should take only no. and for date rest like / or, will be auto formatted.means user should not be able to enter it.

I have develop a web application. I have put my web application in my server and user can access from any location.
My server regional and setting is English (US). Now my problem is
1) When user access to my system and his pc setting is English (UK), it will prompt and error
and after i debug i suspect it is because of Datetime conflict (dd/MM/yyyy and MM/dd/yyyy)
2) I cannot fix or limit my user to setting his/her pc regional setting to UK
So what can i do in my web application solve this issue?
(Can i write any code in my client side (.aspx) to convert or do standardization to US)

View 4 RepliesI'm working with ASP.Net web services and am having a problem with a long-running process that takes about 5 minutes to complete, and it's timing out. To fix this, I was able to set the executionTimeout on the server's web.config to 10 minutes, and then set the .Timeout property on the Web Service object to approximately 9 minutes. Now, I'm worried that this may possibly cause some other web service calls to sit there for 10 minutes before they time out rather than the previous 90-100 seconds. I know the default on the client side is 100 seconds, but wasn't sure if updating the server's timeout setting would affect this.
Bottom line is - Is it safe to update the server's timeout setting to a long amount like 10 minutes, and rely on the default timeout on the client, or could this end up causing some problems?
I have a window that has 3 dropdownlist controls and a textbox with a Calendar Extender associated to it.
I have the following on my pageload event so when the Page loads the current Date is put in the date textbox:

I can change the date fine but when I select a value from one of the other dropdownlist controls it puts the date back to today's date...The only place I am setting the Date to the current date is in the pageload event...
how can I get it to keep the date to what I change it to after I select a new value from one of the dropdown lists?
I am filtering dataview using my Date Column but the result is not proper because the Field value also stores time, so I want to convert this Date Field to only Date during Filter. How can I achieve this? Here is my code. And the actual value I am getting in the Dataset Field "CreationDate" is a DateTime field which is like
