i have made a BaseUserControl.ascx and a ChildUserControl.ascxfile. both have its own code behind file.So what i want, i wanted to inharit ChildUserControl.ascx fileto BaseUserControl.ascx. so whatever in my BaseUserControl.ascx fileshould be visible into the ChildUserControl.ascx,means if i have kept a TextBox in BaseUserControl.ascx should be visibleinto the ChildUserControl.ascx desing view. and it should be accessible into the ChildUserControl.ascx code behind file.

i am using two tables for salary components like bonus,hra,ta,da.one is salary lookup table for viewing which components are chosen and according to this salary table is created dynamically.i want to view data fields of salary table in gridview and update thier value.

I have to build a few ascx partial views in my MVC applications to encapsulate re-usable functionalities as well as archive SOR and SOC. However, I encountered challenge how to encapsulate the business logic that drives MVC ascx views.In webforms, the code behind of an ASCX control can handle a button click event and browser still shows the same page with only one postback. How can I archive the same thing in MVC? When ~/Address/Edit/2 includes an ascx partial view with a button on it that calls another MVC action - let's say ~/ShareController/CommonAction - what is the best way for the CmmonAction to return to the very same view that includes the ascx file?Perhaps I am missing a common pattern in MVC web development?
View 5 RepliesI'm having trouble setting up a custom NEW User Screen. Here is my situation, I have a Request for Access Screen that uses the CreateNewUser Wizard Control. I want to leave the Question and Answer for this, however I also want a custom NEW User Setup which I build myself to allow the system administrators to setup users, but for this setup I don't want the administrators to have to pick the question and answer for the NEW user, so I would like to bypass this for this setup. However, my Membership.CreateUser keeps asking for it. How can I accomplish this? I've included a copy of my current web.config file. You will notice a AspNetAdminMemberhip which I use to allow the System Administrators to reset passwords.

I am having difficulties how to construct my question, but if I have to put it simply the situation is that I have categories of products. I have an aspx with a repeater on the left that lists the categories. And I want the products to be listed on the right. Category number is variable so I made an ascx with a DataList in it. When I try to do foreach category, ascx = new ascx(); then the DataList within this ascx control is null.
ps: what I want to do is to preload all the products (thre is not much) and hide the divs and fadein fadeout them using jQuery when a category div is clicked.

I am using query string to pass values from page 1(log in page) to page 2 and then page 3. I have an .ascx file also, so how can I import the user name from Page1(login.aspx) to menu.ascx file. So that when I click the menu Home the value of the variable remains at the website. I am not aware of session handling thats why I am using this method to pass the valus among the various pages in website.

I have HTML page of few tables created by ASP.NET and when I do the "Page Setup" option before printing the paper size is already selected as "Letter" and I want that option to be in "A4". I changed the size of the table but its not working. Is there any page setup information I can put in HTML so that "Page Setup" option can take it from there.

In another part of the page I have a simple dropdown to select a note and view it. When you push view it loads the text which was entered in via the editor control.
