I have HTML page of few tables created by ASP.NET and when I do the "Page Setup" option before printing the paper size is already selected as "Letter" and I want that option to be in "A4". I changed the size of the table but its not working. Is there any page setup information I can put in HTML so that "Page Setup" option can take it from there.

View 2 RepliesI'm having trouble setting up a custom NEW User Screen. Here is my situation, I have a Request for Access Screen that uses the CreateNewUser Wizard Control. I want to leave the Question and Answer for this, however I also want a custom NEW User Setup which I build myself to allow the system administrators to setup users, but for this setup I don't want the administrators to have to pick the question and answer for the NEW user, so I would like to bypass this for this setup. However, my Membership.CreateUser keeps asking for it. How can I accomplish this? I've included a copy of my current web.config file. You will notice a AspNetAdminMemberhip which I use to allow the System Administrators to reset passwords.

what I want to do is, upon clicking a button on test.html, I want the getitem.aspx page to open in a new dialog and allow entry on a text box. After clicking the OK button on getitem.aspx, this dialog should close and the entry should be passed back to the html page.The issue is that the getitem.aspx has several buttons that trigger postback - but I only want the item from the text box to be sent back to test.html upon clicking of the OK button and not any other buttons.

Basically what I am trying to do is pass some sensetive information to an ActionResult through the click of a HTML ActionLink.
The information I need passing through is, the ProductID and the User IP Address.
So just to clarify:
1) User clicks { I like Product } link (HTML ActionLink)
2) That sends the Product ID and the IP Address of the user to the ActionResult in the Controller.

I have different sessions thruout the application process, but this one session is only set at the beginning of the process and once i kill it on the last page, any attempt to hit Back or trying to access any page directly without first starting, i need to force them to the beginning, what am i missing or doing wrong?
sessID is set on page 1 and is available until you get to the last page. Where i added the Session.Abandon(); Now if i get to the last page and hit back before the refresh occurs, im able to go back, but the page comes up with null reference for other sessions that are obvisously cleared / killed with the abandon. So i should have to check for each session should i? I mean if the abandon killed them all, then checking for the main session should be enough right?

View 9 RepliesI've been looking for the best method to add "Tab Views" to my .ASPX web pages. I read about one method on the internet and actually remembered the other possible method from a control in the default VS2010 toolkit.
I like the <asp:MultiView> control because its so easy to use. The only thing is that it requires the page to be posted back. The second method would use CSS + JavaScript to essentially emulate tabbed views in the same webpage by changing the styles of <div> elements based upon the users tab selection, making the selected tab appear visible and the other tabs appear invisible.
I like the ease of implementation of the <asp:MultiView> but I dislike the fact that it requires the page to be posted back and resent. Also, I haven't even tried this myself yet but Im assuming there is a way to setup the page to make it look like you can select different tabs with a MultiView. Can anyone confirm this?
I like the CSS+JavaScript method of "Tab Views" because no page postback is required but it is a little more work to code. No big deal really though once its done.

Now while doing postback m getting this error The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

I have a page for a client that currently is setup to display a gridview for each subcategory. They recently added a new subcategory and they were wondering why it wasnt showing up on the page. Well the way i have it setup, i have to create the gridview adn datasource for the new subcategory.
Is there a way to setup the page to display a gridview view for each subcategory so if they decide to add another, i dont have to update the page with a new gridview adn configure it? I would like to be able to update what i have and provide a more flexible setup for them.
keeping i mind that each gridview would contain different result sets, is this possible? if so, what controls would i use?
I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.
Creating a membership and user login in VS 2005 - [URL] Settings are windows 7, 64 bit operating system, sql server 2005, sql 2008 and vs 2008 also installed. Page displayed with login previously, but issue was with server instance not correct, which was preventing the created user from logging in, I discovered the database was not even installed in server 2005, new asp.net program was created with new correct instance. Now page will display with http 500 error, unchecked show friendly http error messages, then pages displays blank!. Also there was an issue with the creation of iis application, recreated application in iis 7.5. This process should be simple, but I cant see my detailed errors if the page is blank! and I have enabled the errors in iis and internet explorer 8.
