C# - Create A Message Queue To Store Fault Messages In Visual Studio 2010
Nov 22, 2010
While i was writing a piece of code in C# using ASP.NET i needed to create a message queue to store fault messages. However, I couldn't find the System.Messaging namespace in the namespace library in Visual Studio 2010. Does anyone know how can I use message queuing now?
installing visual studio 2010 pro RC in windows Xp SP3 and getting a message prompt : invalid windows installer package contact vendorlog file says

I downloaded a trial version of Visual Studio 2010, created a new c# Solution and then wanted to add an ASP.NET Web Site. I am Folllowing an example in a book: ASP.NET 3.5 Enterprise Application Development with Visual Studio 2008.In the book they write that a template for createing an c# ASP.NET Web Site would be found, but whereever I search for o template in VisualStudio I cant find that for c#, I could find it for VisualBasic but that is not wath I want!
I tried to install Visual Studio Prof 2010 trail version in my system, but i got an error saying 'Please remove/uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' to proceed installation. i uninstalled my previous VS2008 software from system and i could not find anything like 'Remove/Uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' software in my Add/Remove Programs.
I created a web application using visual studio 2010 / MVC2 / MSSQL 2008 and it runs fine in my laptop. However when I run the application in the hosting provider it shows the error message below:
Compiler Error Message: CS0308
The hosting provider is [URL] and the link to my web application is [URL] I would like to know how to solve this issue? If anyone know PLEASE let me know how to troubleshoot / fix this issue. Also in case the problem is on the hosting provider, let me know if you know of a free or very affordable hosting provider with support for MVC 2 and MSSQL 2008.
I have a directory with sources of a web application (developed with visual studio 2008) without solution's files. Now I want to create a new web application in visual studio 2010, whit the existing sources.
I was interested in creating a banner ad. I understand that you need an HTML editor. I have no familiarity with this at all. I was looking in Visual Studio and see under Add New Item if you click on Web you can add an HTML page. Should I perhaps create a new project as an ASP.NET Web Application and then add a HTML page. Would I be able to go that route and create a banner ad and publish it to my website.
I tried doing this and using Web Deploy while doing a Publish. I had a successful Publish but when I navigated to the URL I just saw a blank page.
If this isn't the route you should go and you should instead use an independent HTML editor is there one that you could recommend?
I've tried all kinds of searches on this site and with Bing and don't seem to get any hits that meet my condition. So pardon me if this is a rather basic question. I'm rather new at ASP.NET programming.I want to experiment with putting up to a live site. GoDaddy gives you free hosting if you get the URL from them. The catch is the hosting only supports IIS 7.0 with .Net 2.0/3.0/3.5. I've uploaded all kinds of plain websites with no problem. So in Visual Studio 2010 I selected the following options while creating a new project:
Have just loaded VWD 2010 and tried to create an SQL DB, the following error occurs "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user interface. The connection will be closed."
Is it just me or is the Web User Control item template missing from Web Application Projects in Visual Studio 2010? Does anyone know how to create a user control in a 2010 web app?
what's up with the new 2010 version of VWDExpress? It seems it no longer creates the VB code behind file to go along with the markup pages. Is threre a setting somewhere that I've missed? Or is code behind no longer supported?
But, when my SMTP server is down I want to put all the emails in a queue and when it recovers I want to send them one a time. Is there any way how to do this programatically in C#?
I have a custom dead letter queue service to pick up messages from DLQ. This service picks up failed message from DLQ and tries to resend to a different end point. If the new endpoint doesn't work, it rolls back transaction. This works great. Here is the code.
{ [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.Single, ConcurrencyMode = ConcurrencyMode.Single, AddressFilterMode = AddressFilterMode.Any)] public class FDPDLQService : IFDService { FDPManager _fdpManager = new FDPManager(); [OperationBehavior(TransactionScopeRequired = true, TransactionAutoComplete = true)] public void ProcessFDMessage(FDMessage message) { //System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch(); try { MsmqMessageProperty mqProp = OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageProperties[MsmqMessageProperty.Name] as MsmqMessageProperty; // if message log required, and configured, log the incoming message try { ChannelFactory<IFDPRouter> factory = new ChannelFactory<IFDPRouter>("IFDPRouter_EP"); IFDPRouter proxy = factory.CreateChannel(); string ep = proxy.GetNextEPForGivenEP(OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageHeaders.To.ToString()); if (ep == null || ep == string.Empty) { throw new EndpointNotFoundException(Common.Constants.FDP_NOT_FOUND_EXCEPTION_MESSAGE); } // Process message with next end point available _fdpManager.ProcessFDMessage(message, ep); } catch (EndpointNotFoundException enfe) { ExceptionManager.HandleException(enfe); Transaction.Current.Rollback(); //throw; } catch (Exception ex) { ExceptionManager.HandleException(ex); Transaction.Current.Rollback(); //throw; } } } }
But if all endpoints are not available for a long period of time, and if service rolls message back to the DLQ for a long period of time, after a certain period of time service stops picking up messages from DLQ. I am not sure which configuration is responsible for this.
I have been ising TFS 2010 with VS 2010 Ultimately for a couple of months now. I have a client who is using Visual Web 2010, does anyone know if this integrated with TFS easily?
I'm running Visual Studio 2010 and IE9 and integrating with facebook and the facebook javascript code keeps resulting in exceptions... 'Error: '__flash__removeCallback' is undefined' which I can't do anything about.
Visual Studio keeps on telling me about each and every one of these exceptions every time I load the webpage that I'm working on which makes doing anything else difficult. I managed to switch off this behavior by enabling Silverlight debugging because apparently the debugger can only work with one of the other.
But now the browser keeps telling me about the same exceptions even though I've disabled script debugging and have de-selected 'Display a notification about every error'.
So how do I stop Visual Studio from telling me about numerous Javascript exceptions that I can't do anything about? Why can one not just configure it to, 'do not debug javascript from the following domains'?
I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
I am trying to send the message(complex type) to the message queue.I am getting the error,ETravel.Web, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' is not marked as serializable.below lies the code for that.
public void QueueMessage(EmailMessage message) { Message msg = new Message(); msg.Body = message; [code]...
Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. I assume that it is because something got reset that I haven't enabled again, but can't figure it out.
