I need to display a table with various info (names, dates, serial numbers, notes). In addition, there is one field I need to be one of three specified values (Raise, Lower, Release). What view would be the best/easiest to implement which would let me add/edit/delete entries as well as provide a drop down option for the Raise, Lower, Release options?

I've taken over this webpage and am currently trying to add functionality to take in data from a serial port and then put the parsed info into a series of textboxes. Right now I can get the data from the serial ports but the text boxes refuse to show the data.

I am retrieving two dates(start date and end date) from the table
for instance 8/7/2014 and 12/7/2014 i need to display all the dates which are in between these two selected dates in the asp.net calendar control.. How do i write the code in day_render event and compare these dates
I have been working with this database for some time. Here is the situation...
I inherited a MS SQL database that has hundreds of tables with similar data. For instance:
FordTampa_customer is a table,
ChevyAtlanta_customer is a table, etc....
All of the columns are the same...just different tables with their own ID field. All I have done...Inside of another database id is created a table called 'Customer' and added an 'Dealer ID' column along with the rest of the other columns in the other tables...
So the combination of the 'Dealer ID' and the 'ID' field are unique.....I know...its not the best way to do things...but I cannot change the old data structure because I cannot have access to it. I am give back-ups on a weekly basis, so this is all I have to work with.
All right, on to the real point of my post...
Currently, I have an application that I use to select all of the data from the 'Ford_customers','Chevy_customers',etc... and inserts them into my new main 'Customer' table. I do this by selecting the table names, bind it to an arraylist, loop through the list and execute an insert statement.
I do this in VB.NET, but I would prefer to do it in a Stored procedure of some kind....I just am not sure how to accomplish it. I use this syntax to get my list of tables:

I'm trying to build an asp.net application, where I have three tables.

tblHalte
tblHalteRoute
I want to insert a routeID into tblHalteRoute and for every routeID multiple halteID's
TblRoute has the needed fields (routeID(1) & allHaltes[halteID1,halteID2,halteID3])
--> so Every route has multiple Haltes that I can access by parsing the allHaltes field and using the IDS.
What I want to do is update tblHalteRoute like this
tblRoute.routeID(1), tblRoute.allHaltes(halteID1)
tblRoute.routeID(1), tblRoute.allHaltes(halteID2)
tblRoute.routeID(1), tblRoute.allHaltes(halteID3)
inserting these values into the tblHalteRoute .. I'm really not sure on where to look or how to start, I tried using SUBquerys with an Insert before a select, but no success.
I want to retrieve info from more than 1 table. I have tried to look into using the ViewModel but do not fully understand how to implement it. My Model is setup using ADO.Net framework.

I am working on a program to pull info from sql and display it in a gridview. However I am getting the following error message :
Must declare the scalar variable "@branchparam".
All I am wanting to do is check to see if something exists in the sql database, if it exists then boolean active user=true else false.
If it is true then I want to fire the other subs, if it is false, then exit sub and display message.

I have the following issue where I cannot seem to display a negative number and the result seems to stay on zero.

In my code iNumber1 = 108 and iNumber2=27 however when the result is divided again by 108 the answer seems to stay on 108. I tried using doubles but with no luck.

I have a list of results being returned from a SQL Server database. I want to show those results in my web page with number to the left of them. For instance, my result set may look like the following:

if i click on any products the related details of that product has to be dispaly in the same webform .

I have a stored procedure which returns a table. The stored proc is called via a linq datacontext.
It works fine and I get the table back however I really want to also get the title relating to each particular cell returned.
The stored procedure call is like:
var table = DataContext.GetTable().ToList();
So I get a List<GetTable>. The data is fine I just want the column names as well.
I have a site where users can save images together with a couple of info fields about the image. The images are stored as binary data in the same table as the rest of the image info. So far pretty standard.
Now, the users should be able to upload a document, describing the image in more detail, along with the rest of the image and its' info.
Size ~2MB per document.
My question is: Should I store this document (binary data) in the same table as the rest of the images or should I create a new table holding only the documents. There would of course be an id reference in the image table to the document in the document table.
I have a search function joining a couple of tables, including the image table, when searching for images. I need to know if there's a difference in efficiency between these two solutions.
I always fetch the document data separately but if I don't win anything in having the documents in a separate table I'll just put it with the rest of the image info.
I'm asking this since I don't really know how SQL Server handle tables when joing and searching in them.
I have about 10�000 users with a maximum of 10 images per user. (ASP.NET - SQL Server)
(I'm not asking if I should store documents in the database, but how ;)
Example:
columns in imageTable - id, title, dateAdded, image (binary data), document (binary data)
Searching for items from a specific user I would join the userTable and the imageTable and select title where image id equals user id.
So, will there be any difference in the performance if the document is in the imageTable or in an own table?

View 1 RepliesI am using the Login control on my login.aspx page to login to my /Members/Default.aspx page to display their current weight and their goal weight using the DetailsGrid. I have everything setup and I can log in and verify the user login name, but it only give one weight regardless of who logs in. Below is the SQL for the SQL Source on the DetailsGrid. I am new with this, Comparing the UserNames on aspnet_Users.UserName and memInfo.UserName should be able to extract that data, correct? Obviously I'm missing something. :)

I have a web form (aspx page) where I load case data for my database and edit certain fields. I want to create a queue box where I can display new incoming cases (Case nums) that have not been edited yet, so that I do not mis any cases on a given day.
