Oct 5, 2010
I have couple of controls in the page. I need to modify these value in Page method. How can I do that?. When I modify those values in page method should reflect in page?
Can I modify the properties of a content page control from an event fired from the master page?create a delegate and event on master page wire up the master page in the content page create the event handler (function) on the content page modify for example:
contents of the Text property of a textbox render a control visible (or hidden) etc...
I'm developing a web site, and i'm using infragistics for web, but I want to use in some pages silverlight controls (Infragistics too). Is there a way to access a silverlight control's properties and methods from an aspx page?
I wanted to know if we can pass values from Parent page (in this case from Default.aspx page) to the user control and maintain those values on subsequent "Add/Load" of user control.
So in short, if I click the "Add" button it loads my "webusercontrol" and also I am able to pass my default.aspx dropdownlist value to this dynamically loaded user control and assign it to a "Label or Textbox" which resides in my "webusercontrol", now the problem is that the value doesn't persists! What I meant is , when I click "Add" button again the "webusercontrol" gets loaded again perfectly but now all my "Label's" in webusercontrol has the new selected value from the default.aspx dropdownlist.
So say for instance I have a Dropdownlist in Default.aspx page with Values "Apple, BlackBerry, Nokia" and initial value to be passed is "Apple", I click the "Add" button, now my "Label" inside webusercontrol has the value "Apple", perfect! Next when I click "Add" button again and select a different value to be passed this time say "BlackBerry" now I have 2 webusercontrol loaded on the page, so that means I have 2 "Labels" with different ID's, but now my first Label initially had the value "Apple" because that's what I had passed and now when I passed the value "Blackberry" both the labels of my webusercontrol has the value "BlackBerry" instead of one being "Apple" and another "BlackBerry"
Is there a way to resolve this issue? may be Dictionary List?
Is there any possibility to pass values of form elements to action methods but using parameters?I have a form with a lot of input fields and the method signature will get pretty long. Besides the form elements depend on each other so if the user makes a special choice only a subset of the form elements should be displayed so there are several combinationof values to be passed. Can I access the posted values in a generic way through a collection in the controller or something similar?
In my website the page viewstate values in hidden are very large. So i wish to store this values into another methods(session, files etc).so please advice me to some methods..
I need to force SSL when going to the final checkout page (for example from default.aspx to checkout.aspx).
I need to pass variables to this check out page and tried to use server.transfer(https://www.mydomain.com/checkout.aspx). I then use previous page .Fincontrol to read text box and label name to this check out page. If I only do the server.transfer("~/checkout.aspx") then my I can read all vakues of my controls from the passing default.aspx page.
But when I force https:// then I cannot read the control values from default.aspx page.
Please give me some tips on how to get control values to the https:// destination page or if you have another tips on how to do it the right way, please let me know.
Using SQL and C#. I have a gridview with a template field. I need to modify the some items in the gridview when the user selects a given record and store the values back in the database. ProjectID is the unique key in the database.Gridview is done as a table. How can I do it? Here is my grid view implementation.
I have a ASP.Net project that is setup in such a way that it can be dropped into any site and "just work." All the paths are relative to the current file, not relative to the "~". The paths are determined by ThePath = this.TemplateSourceDirectory;
This is working for everything expect registering a custom control that is created and added to one of the pages. I can add the control just fine with the Page.LoadControl but I cant cast it as the correct type to access anything.
How can I add a reference to the class from within the code itself?
I'd like to record more information than the default control allows as well as perform actions with the input when the form is submitted but I'm having trouble figuring out how.
So firstly, if I want to record the middlename for example, how would I do that, and by default, where would it go if anywhere?
When the form is submitted, I'd like to take specific input, such as just the middlename for example, and write some linq to sql code to specify when and how it's stored. In what event would I put this code?
i have made a user control carrying a grid which is showing different uploaded images , description etc. I am putting this in another aspx page and want to fetch the values of the silverlight grid. I have made a class file for that but unable to get the grid collection.
I'm trying to do something which to me seems like it should be simple, yet I cannot think of a simple way to do it.
I have a built custom control, that has a property I want to change based on a user's interaction with a second custom control. This second control will be a table of data, with an 'edit' link in the last column. I would like the control, when the edit link is pressed, to pass an ID and trigger some event so that I can assign this ID to the first control. My initial technique for building this (second) control was to create some code which will iteratively create some html based on a dynamic range of data selected by the user. I know that I could create some sort of link with a value in the query string, but I would like to implement AJAX and was hoping that I could enable this communication without changing the URL.
Yesterday night I accidentally came across a dialog box that allowed me to modify the properties of the Menu navigation control. I could choose an Orientation of Horizontal or Vertical, among other properties. It was not done through the typical Properties window. I am using VS2005. Unfortunately, I cannot recall how to call up that dialog box again.
This is really bugging me 'cause I know that I saw it.
I am workining on a large site for a client. I have a control (an asp.net textbox) that is rendering with two class tags i.e.:<textarea class="x" class="y" />I have no idea how or why that is happening and I dont expect to find an answer here.however I hope that one of you can tell me the best way to debug it.I would like to see how that control is being by asp before any other code has a chance to modify it (the site uses telerik controls but the control in question is an asp.net textbox control).
I am exposing state_v value by using property in aspx.vb page..How can I create an instace of the page in User control to access this property...mypage.aspx
I'm thinking there has to be an efficient and OO way to do this.
I have several textboxes on a data entry page. When I need to make a new entry, I have to clear the text field before making new entries and this has to be done for quite a number of textboxes and across several pages.
Is there a way to use the FindControl method to locate all textboxes on a page and clear their textfields probably using a loop of some sorts?
I want to access the raw HTML code that my ASP.NET System.Web.UI.Page is about to render.
How can i do that? Is there a property or method like System.Web.UI.Page.HTML or something like that.
I know I could loop through the Controls List of the page and get access to all the Literal Controls etc, but I was wondering if there's a direct property or method that can return me the raw html, which I can modify just before rendering the page.
I have been trying to find out how I can allow a user to modify/update a page/pages on a web site. I understand there has to be site security with authentication and authorisation but what is there as a user interface for them easily to update a page?
