This program in asp.net 2.0 is a Spanish/English Dictionary.
It consists of two textboxes,one button and a datalist. The datalist is bound to an acces database consisting of two columns; One Spanish and one English. When a user enters a Spanish word in textbox1 and clicks the button, the meaning of the word appears in textbox2. Now sometimes a user enters a word that is not in the database. I want, in this case, to have a javascript messagebox to popup saying “Either the word is not listed or misspelled”.
I tried several javascripts to popup in code behind but that did not work. I know that a clientside should be included but I am not able to do that.
The sub below is the one I am using to fetch the words and it is working perfect as long as I enter a word that is already in access database. The words in the rows in database are separated by hyphens so I am using a “Split” fuction which is also working perfectly.

I'm in a Unique position where I have to display one popup above another popup. Problem is that popup B's background does not show above popup A's content and as such you ae still able to click on buttons, ect. on popup A.
I tried to rather disable the Tab Control on popup A with javascript once popup B is displayed, but it only disables textboxes and labels and nothing else.
getting popup B's background to display above popup A or help with disabling all controls (Contained in Tab Control) on popup A?
I need to run a JS function before the modal popup closes, this is because I need to close a flash netstream, currently the flv continues to play after modal is closed, you can hear audio and stream continues to download. I have the code to deal with this, but the modal closes before JS is actioned. The JS below talks to swf (videoPlayer_low) and closes the netstream. Note all this pain is to deal with IE :(

I'm tring to write a function that need to save a file (in csv) and has a condition.
it's something like that:
If the file is small then 1MB then I want to pop up an alert in javascript and then continue with the save as file commands.
What I did was:

the save as works fine. but the alert wont popup in the else case. I tried RegisterStartupScript. I tried many options. But it seems that the response.end is stops the clientscript from happening.

I'm a winform/silverlight developer my asp.net skills are very poor.I've got a task to make a kind of popup with the code of conduct that users need to accept before they can continue.I have no idea how to do it so I googled some and found this javascript popup called lytebox which I actually managed to get to workproblems i have with it are:1. you can click next to the box and it closes too2. i want a yes/no button but the lytbox only has option for close/next/previous3. I dont know how to make it pop without user action (like clicking on a link:p)anyway this is not a must . if anyone can give me some good tips or guides or example how i can do this i'd be happy!

View 2 RepliesI am using PartialView(.ascx) to show a Popup on my .Aspx. Partail View is PopUp.ascx and i have written a Jquery fun where i call Action Mehod of PopUp. If i use 1 id in my Route then it works fine the PopUp dialog appears fine but if i include 2 ids in my route. Then it doesnt appears as a popup. Action Method of Partial View executes fine but the PopUp appears as a plain HTML in my dialog div.
View 6 RepliesI have a modal popup with an image cropping tool I wrote in JavaScript and it passes the coordinates to the codebehind on postback. Anywho... for some reason when I call the Show() method the modal popup is rendered 3/4 of the way down the screen. I checked firebug to see what CSS might be conflicting but found nothing to be conflicting with it. If I enable the reposition modes it will adjust to the correct position on scroll or resize but not when it is rendered.

I have a panel containing one image, and i use Ajax ModalPopupExtender for show panel when I click button. After I clicked button first, all so good. But, after I refresh or do event on page, panel is show and then hidden about 1s.
