I've declared an event on an HTTP Module so it will poll subscribers for a true/false value to determine if it should go ahead with its task of tweaking the HTTP Response. If only one subscriber answers true then it runs its logic.
Are there potential pitfalls I'm not seeing?
public class ResponseTweaker : IHttpModule {
// to be a list of subscribers
List<Func<HttpApplication, bool>> listRespondants = new List<Func<HttpApplication, bool>>();
// event that stores its subscribers in a collection
public event Func<HttpApplication, bool> RequestConfirmation {
I then have an IHttpModule that gets called for every request:
[code].....
And now it's broken again! So to make a long story short, just by accessing the Form collection on the request in the IHttpModule, I somehow screw up the PostBack, and the event never gets fired.
I want to implement event management in my application and i want to know what may be the best practice to achieve this goal. Event management in my case is to maintain a log of every insert/update/delete operation perform with username and datetime in my application
I am using ASP.NET. I have to set the value of a variable [testVar] into javascript on page load. only for the first time when the page load. Just like !IsPostBack event on code side. From next postback this function of javascript should not call.
how to implement click event for hyperlink as I am using hyperlink to logout the application and need to write the logout code in the event. For some reasons I am not able to use linkbutton.
LoginPage.aspx:- protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Context.Items["Username"] = txtUserId.Text; Context.Items["Password"] = txtPassword.Text; // FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, Context.Items["Username"].ToString(), DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(10), true, "users", FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath); // Encrypt the cookie using the machine key for secure transport string hash = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(ticket); HttpCookie cookie = new HttpCookie( FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, // Name of auth cookie hash); // Hashed ticket // Set the cookie's expiration time to the tickets expiration time if (ticket.IsPersistent) cookie.Expires = ticket.Expiration; Response.Cookies.Add(cookie); Response.Redirect("Default.aspx"); } Global.asax file:- void Application_AuthenticateRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (HttpContext.Current.User != null) { if (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated) { if (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity is FormsIdentity) { FormsIdentity id = (FormsIdentity)HttpContext.Current.User.Identity; FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = id.Ticket; // Get the stored user-data, in this case, our roles string userData = ticket.UserData; string[] roles = userData.Split(','); HttpContext.Current.User = new System.Security.Principal.GenericPrincipal(id, roles); Response.Write(HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name); Response.Redirect("Default.aspx"); } } } }
I get the following error after signing in This webpage has a redirect loop.
The webpage at [URL] has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
i have a button image in gridview when clicking in the button i send values using session to another page ...my wish is send others values when clicking on right click to another pages ?
Im trying to make a solution like this [URL] Now the question is how do I filter the request, I only want to Open an ISession if the request is for an ASPNET MVC Action, not for *.gif, *.css etc. How should I handle this filtering?
May be this question sounds silly, but I want to add an event for the Dropdownlist web control (using VB.Net) to implement Click event. I have a Dropdownlist control with some items. As soon as user selected an item, it should display some records based on the selection. Currently I am having a Submit button and user has to hit on that button to see the records. I want to remove the Submit button and wants to see the records as soon as the user choose the item in the dropdownlist
Dropdownlist is coming with default event "SelectedIndexChanged" and it is not helping me to achive what I want
This is my code that I tried so far (but zero luck)
i want to try the event of my button, instead of using a button i want to use double click Row of Gridview
This my event in button:Â
Protected Sub Button2_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click gridtolabel() Session.Add("EquipCode", EquipCode) Session.Add("ContractID", ContractID) Response.Redirect("Edit.aspx") End Sub
In ASP.NET 4.0, I have an IHttpModule that apply a filter on HttpRequest.Filter. As the result, the content stream length is changed, and it breaks WCF with now returns 400 bad request because of the mismatch between the body length and the HTTP headers.
I want to implement hit tracking in an HttpModule in my ASP.NET app. Pretty simple, I thought. However, the BeginRequest event of my HttpModule is firing twice for each page hit. The site is very simple right now...no security, just a bit of database work. Should log one row per page hit. Why is this event firing twice?
Moreover, IHttpModule.BeginRequest actually fires a different number of times for the first page hit when running for the first time (from a closed web browser)...3 times when I'm hitting the DB to provide dynamic data for the page, and only 1 time for pages where the DB isn't hit. It fires 2 times for every page hit after the first one, regardless of whether or not I'm touching the DB.
It's interesting to note that Application_BeginRequest (in Global.asax) is always firing only once.
why the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?
i am currently developing an asp.net project. there is a previous, next, and cancel button that the user can utilize, but the problem is that everything is broken into controls so that if they hit the browser's back button it will reset everything and take them to the very beginning. i would like to capture the onbeforeunload event and trigger the previous button click event (i.e. treating navigation like clicking the previous button).
Basics: I have a text box (txtDepositAmount) that people can enter a deposit amount into and a drop down (ddlSelectedTerm) that sets the terms. Through these two values I calculate the APY (lblCurrentApy).
Rules: If only one of the values is selected I still want to do an update on the current APY label and clear it. If either value changes I want to update the current APY and recalculate.
The problem: As soon as I click away from the textbox and onto the drop down to select my term the drop down flashes and closes because the textbox TextChanged event was just fired.
I have to click on the drop down a second time to be able to select anything!
Do I need to change what event I'm looking at or do I need to move some of the controls outside of the UpdatePanel? Can this only happen if some of the business rules change? Should I just give up and go to javascript?
