C# - Implement Nested DropDownLists Inside A GridView?
Jul 8, 2010
I have two nested DropDownLists (the value selected in the 1st ddl will limit the content of the 2nd ddl).
The example attached here runs fine outside of a GridView. As soon as I try to insert this into a GridView, I get an error because I cannot identify the ControlID to use in the ControlParameter.
In datalist, I hve populated Grdiview according the Category Id. Inside Gridview , I hve checkboxes. Now i want to get the selected checkboxes names to be insrted into the database. how to get access of those checkboxes inside of Gridview.
I am requested by my manager to develop a web page called staff deployment plan that will involve two GridViews, that is the Parent GridView and Child GridView. The Parent GridView will display two columns which are EmployeeNames and WorkingDays - the working days column is a heading of Child GridView and the child gridview displays columns as current working days for example: the month of November 2014 has 20 working days excluding weekends and public holidays in South Africa, so the columns for child gridview are like this:
3 Nov, 4 Nov, 6 Nov...etc
The problem that am experiencing now:
Is to add LinkButton for each column on the Child GridView and to create command event for each linkbutton inside a child gridview (remember this child gridview is inside a parent gridview) and the link button when is click it should display a popup window.
I am using a repeater control and i want to use one more repeater control inside the existing repeater control .Â
Like this:
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater1" runat="server">   <HeaderTemplate> </HeaderTemplate>      <ItemTemplate> <!-- start child repeater -->    Here I want to use one repater control     <!-- end child repeater --> </ItemTemplate> </asp:Repeater>
I am using j-query auto complete plugin in textbox that is inside gridview.  The autocomplete only works when my gridview has more than 1 row, if my gridview has only one row then the autocomplete will not work. I am using the same code i downloaded from this website.  Here is my code for the gridview:
I tryed to put a nested Gridviews (parent-child) in an UpdatePanel, but it didn 't work as I want. Firstly the code of the Gridview (its from the example reffering to this [URL] .....)
I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code). The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? Would it be possible to fill the gridview without using gvDomain_rowDataBound? Dries
i have two nested gridview inside an update panel. there is a button called btnPhoneEdit inside the child grid view. when the button gets clicked, it do cause partial post back as expected but it fails to invoke btnPhoneEdit_Click.
here is how my grid view looks like and how i add my custom data source to both parent and child grid view. [Code]....
I've got 3 SqlDataSource controls, and 2 dropdownlists and 1 detailsview on a page. The first SqlDataSource is associated with the first dropdownlist, and second SqlDataSource (which is filtered based upon the selection chosen in the first dropdownlist) is associated with the second dropdownlist and the third SqlDataSource (which is filtered both by the selection of the first dropdownlist and the second dropdownlist) is associated with the detailsview. The idea is the user selects something in the first dropdownlist, and it is supposed to update what is returned by the second SqlDataSource control and second dropdownlist, and that in turn is supposed to change what is returned in the third SqlDataSource control and it's associated detailsview. All of the dropdownlists have AutoPostback set to True.
Is there a better, cleaner way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0?
An ASP.NET 2.0 page displays a datalist of records. Each record can have many dates, so the dates are in a nested gridview (I chose a gridview over a datalist here because we want to be able to delete a date and this is easier done in a gridview). The parent record can never be deleted.
The display works fine: the nested gridview gets its datasource during the parent datalist's OnItemDataBound event.
The problem: the nested gridview's delete function. The date gets deleted without a problem (handled in the OnRowDeleting event), but somehow the redisplay is untying all the other nested gridviews from their datasources. The delete does not appear to cause a page postback, so I don't know how the other nested gridviews are losing their datasources.
In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign.  The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.
I have an array object with another nested arrayobject within it. I am binding the outer arrayobject to a gridview and on row data bound event i am refernecing the nested array object and populating a dropdown list in atemplate column of a gridview row. Thgis works fine but when i implement paging and handle the PageChanging event then the data binding of the nested array does not complete properly. See code below. For each page in the gridview the dropdown list is repeatedly populated with the same data
I have designed a collapsible nested gridview project using this article as a reference Collapsible Nested GridView with Paging using ASP.Net. I am trying to modify the code to collapse a gridview when another gridview is expanded so that only one nested gridview will be open at a time.
I have got 2 Drop Down Lists on my Form and 1 GridView. I want GridView to display the data according to selection from the Drop Down Lists.
For Example, One Drop Down List contains Names and other contains Dates. Both the Drop Down Lists can post back. So if i select a name from 1st Drop Down list, the Grid View should show all the results according to that Name. Similarly if i select the Date from the other Drop Down List , the Grid View should show the results according to the dates. But i cant figure out as how to bind Grid View to respond to 2 Drop Down List.
i am binding both the Drop Down Lists and the Grid View to the DataSource Objects, which is getting data from the database.
I have a dynamic (allows addition of rows on the fly) an ASP gridview that has a dropdownlist in one of its columns. I would like to take an action enable/disable the textbox in the column after depending on the selection in the dropdownlist during data entry.
