I ve just added quartz.net dll to my bin and started my example... How to call a c# method using quartz.net based on time?
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
using Quartz;
using System.IO;
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if(SendMail())
Response.write("Mail Sent Successfully");
}
public bool SendMail()
{
try
{
MailMessage mail = new MailMessage();
mail.To = "test@[URL]";
mail.From = "sample@[URL]";
mail.Subject = "Hai Test Web Mail";
mail.BodyFormat = MailFormat.Html;
mail.Body = "Hai Test Web Service";
SmtpMail.SmtpServer = [URL];
mail.Fields.Clear();
mail.Fields.Add([URL], "1");
mail.Fields.Add([URL], "redwolf@[URL]);
mail.Fields.Add([URL], "************");
mail.Fields.Add([URL], "465");
mail.Fields.Add([URL], "true");
SmtpMail.Send(mail);
return (true);
}
catch (Exception err)
{
throw err;
}
}
}
Here i am just sending a mail on page load. How to call SendMail() once in a day at a given time (say 6.00 AM) using quartz.net. I dont know how to get started? Should i configure it in my global.asax file.
I need to send emails based on users input time and day (based on their time zone)? Kind of a reminder.
For Example: User input 2:00pm Eastern Time on my server I have different time zone, how to calculate the time and send the email at users time-zone. Its a web application. What is the best way to accomplish it using asp.net c#? If somebody already done it in the past I will be glad to take a look at source code.
I have an ActiveX object which extends some functions. I have a web page that loads the ActiveX object and calls its methods in Javascript. The ActiveX object has two method; the problem is that Javascript can successfully call one of them but fails to call the other; citing Object doesn't support this property or method which is nonsense because I made a VB6.0 application that successfully calls this other method, so the two functions are indeed extended correctly and performing their job. And yes, the Internet Explorer security zones are all set and everything, as I wrote above the javascript code can call one method but refuses to call the other.
I have seen 2 methods to handle error in project. One is using try catch in every method and another is using custom page and error log file .I know both method. Which one is the best method?
Find if the current time falls within hourly ranges and display the start hour and end hour of that range in labels.
Examples:
If the current time is 8:46am, label startTime would return "8am" and label endTime would return "9am" If the current time is 10:01pm, label startTime returns "10pm" and label endTime returns "11pm" If the current time is 12:59am, label startTime returns "12am" and label endTime returns "1am"
I have been working with the C# TimeRange class but not getting what I need.
select distinct tbl.emp_code, b.EmplName, convert(varchar, tbl.punched_date,101) as Punched_date, (select convert(varchar(8),itbl.PUNCHED_TIME, 114)+', ' from Trn_Capture_Data_New itbl where itbl.EMP_CODE=tbl.emp_code and itbl.PUNCHED_DATE=tbl.punched_date and itbl.EMP_CODE='4' and tbl.punched_date >= '03/27/2013' and tbl.punched_date <= '03/28/2013' for xml path('')) Punched_Time
Now i need to Bind it to gridview, the gridview columns should be
Date,IN,OUT,IN,OUT
In punched time the first one should be IN and second OUT. A employee would have punched several time a day. Based on that I should take maximum punches and bring that of columns as IN and OUT in gridvew dynamically. How to achieve this?
I'm having an issue working out how to implement this time based event. Basically, my program needs to send out an email at 12AM monday morning. But the email needs to go based on the user's local time not 12AM server time.
the problem i have discovered is Daylight savings. I used current server time as 12:00AM (my local time) and my actual offset is -7:00 UTC but after the calculation i get -6:00 utc because of daylight savings. If a user was in -7:00UTC then he/she will not get the email at 12am localtime but an hour late.
[System.Web.Services.WebMethod] public static string GetStateData(string state) { //this is where i want to call a javascript method "GetItems" }
I have a javascript method that retrieves some values for me and I want to get use one of those values in my web method
function GetItems() { var variable1= $("#<%=Item1.ClientID %> input:checked"); var variable2= $("#<%=Item2.ClientID %>").val(); return [variable1.text(), variable2.val(), variable2];}
I've searched for ways to call the javascript method from the web method but every time my search results in how to call a web method from javascript.
I did find this but it was done from the code-behind of a silverlight project and when I tried adding the correct reference to my code-behind it wasn't there
var result = HtmlPage.Window.Invoke("GetItems"); Is there a reference I'm missing?
I am creating a Quartz.NET application in C#, and creating a bunch of administration webpages (C#/ASP.NET) so users can easily create jobs, set datamap fields and edit datamap fields.
I'm having some trouble editting jobs data maps though - any changes I make aren't saved at all. Is there anything I need to call after modifying the jobs data map?
I am using quartz.net and it's great. But what happens if my server is down and I miss an event (I am using a database to store quartz events)? I want to make sure events run, even if they are a week late, but I don't see how this is configured?
I have a Quartz.NET application where I need the administrators to be able to modify the job details - mostly information in each jobs datamap, but also things like the triggers - here is my code I'm using
I have several important Quartz events that MUST go off at specific times of the night. Lately I have been noticing that not all the events are run. I have a feeling that overnight our server load is very light (ie. zero users) and that the web server kind of goes to sleep, and hence so does Quartz. Does this seem plausible? I am using Quartz.net within the web server, and not as a separate service.
I have used Quartz.Net for queuing and sending emails from my application. I don't know how each scheduled job responds to application instance stopping, pausing or shutting down. The IJob interface has no method that can notify a running job about these events.My question is how can I handle these cases when they occur so that the job can exit while leaving the application and the data in a stable state?
I have an asp.net mvc application that take a while to load on my production server. I would like to write a script to call my pages every 10 minutes to avoid the pages from being scrapped on the server, which would then cause the server to reload them.
I was thinking of using a SQL Server stored procedure to call my pages every 10 minutes to keep the pages alive.
I've read that I can do this using CLR, but I am not sure how. Does anyone have an example of how to call webpages in a SQL Stored Procedure using CLR?
I'm trying to get Quartz.net working by embedding into my .Net MVC2 application. I know this is not ideal, but I'm just trying to get it up and running before moving it over to a service. I can't get my jobs to fire off, but I think I'm configured correctly. In my Global.asax.cs:
I am just learning ASP.Net and i am more using C# as code behind than vb.I am trying to call a method of the code behind (file.aspx.cs) from the (file.aspx).I know how to do it the easy way:- create a button from ASP.Net and double click on it than the property "onclick" will be linked to the method.But i don't know how to do it from a query:
- By example, from an Access database,i use the syste, [using System.Data.OleDb;] and i made a query and display it into a standar object named "Table" which has rows (tablerow) and cells (tablecell) and the cells have one of their properties which is "Controls" where developers can add button (regular button, image button, link button, etc). With i display the buttons from the database, i can not call a method from code behind! I can't either use their properties "onclick" to call i method i created in the code behind.Is there a way to do it ?
I have a page called AddNews.aspx and in codebehind a web method called AddNews(Parameters).. AddNews.aspx page is inherited from a master page.. So i used contentplaceholder. I have a button..It's id is btnSave.
I have a web application I am working on that uses a master page. I am reading I create a LinkButton in the codebehind file for the page. When the link is clicked on the webpage, it does not even call the method defined for it. I have tried multiple ways of doing this and nothing seems to work for me. The page that has the link is also the page that will display the data for the related record. Can anyone provide me with a way to get the linkbutton to call the method?kButton is created and added to a dynamic table on the page
/* setup a link button to display the member name * and add the cell to the row */ LinkButton memberLink = new LinkButton(); [code]...
I am facing an issue in my application when a user directly clicked on browser close [X] button. Browser can be IE, Chrome, Mozilla, Firefox and many more.
What I want to do:
1. as soon as user hits [X] button of browser, need to set their status as logged off in database for which we have a method in Login.aspx file which is within the master page.
2. We do not have any Logoff feature in the application
