I am calling a javascript for a textbox when a key is pressed to check for the Enter key. It works for all other keys though. The problem is I have buttons on the page also and the first button is taking the Enter as a click. If I disable the buttons, it works with the Enter key but I need the buttons there.
Is there any way I can keep the buttons from accepting the Enter key in a textbox as a Click?
This is what I set in the Page_Load which works well. And the script is called.
Code:
Text1.Attributes.Add("onkeydown", "check_key(event)")

I'm looking for a way to access a Java API from both a Java console application and an ASP.Net application.In short my Java API exposes a series of methods for dealing with invoices. All of these methods are essentially commands e.g.
GenerateAllInvocies
GenerateInvoiceNumber
PrintAllInvoices
PrintInvoiceNumber
All methods will interact with the database. I had believed Web Services was going to be my means for interop. But I have since been made aware of Java Stored Procedures in Oracle.

If I declare a DIV and set it to runat server I get a clientmode attribute which I can set to determine what the ID comes out to be on the rendered page. I need to do this for a drop down and a textbox but clientmode isn't available on those controls. What can I do? I don't want to do some crazy workaround. If it comes to it i'll just do an auto postback and do what I need there.

I am not able to get the changed value ( I have attached a ajax calender with this textbox)
in code behind because it is readonly
I can do this using TextBox1.Attributes.Add("readonly", "readonly"); or I can get the correct last value using Request.Form[TextBox1.UniqueID]

I have a multiline textbox that by default, is set to ReadOnly. I would like a button on the page to change the control to allow it to be edited. I would like this code to run on the client side because the page renders slowly and I'd like to avoid the post back.
The problem I'm having is the javascript code that I wrote to remove the readonly attribute appears to have no effect. I posted a stripped down example that illustrates the problem for your review.

I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Trial and converted existing asp.net 2.0 web application and I am getting this error: znrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive. It's coming from this section in the web.config which was auto-generated by VS2010 when I converted the project:

I am developing asp.net mobile application. I am using LINQ to XML to query XML file. I am using the following query to retrieve the name & value of the query dynamically as follows
var TotalManifolds = from MF in FieldRoot.Element("FIELD-DEFINITION").Element("MANIFOLDS").Elements("MANIFOLD")
join SLT in FieldRoot.Element("FIELD-DEFINITION").Element("SLOTS").Elements("SLOT")
on (string)MF.Attribute("MID") equals (string)SLT.Attribute("PARENT")
select new
{
SlotName = (string)SLT.Attribute("NAME").Value,
SlotValue = (string)SLT.Attribute("NAME").Value
};
In the following statement of above query I want to retrive the name of the attribure dynamically without explicitly specifying the name of the attribute SlotName = (string)SLT.Attribute("NAME").Value Here I am explicitly specifying the name. I want to code which can dynamically retrieve the name of the attribute. I am new to Linq to xml. how this can be done programatically? or can you provide me the link through which I can resolve the above issue ?

Suppose I have logged into an application which is running from IIS. Now I haven't logged out, but closed the browser. And when I'm accessing the application again, it defaults to the login page. How does IIS recognize that it is a new request and redirects the user to the login page?
I have another doubt. Suppose if I'm not closing the browser, which I used when I logged in. I'm opening the new browser to request a page from same application. IIS recognizes that it's a new request to the application and redirects the user to login page. Why does it not use the existing session or cookies which the first browser uses?
We say http is a stateless protocol. Once the page is requested i have logged in.And http protocol connection will be terminated between IIS and browser right? Then iam navigating to other pages in that logged in application. Now iis recognises user has logged in this browser. But when i open a new browser and request that application how does iis recognises it is a new request. Since the http protocol is disconnected, how it works in the first case

I am trying to achieve a SSO implimentation across my websites so i am using the machine key attribute to do so.now the trouble starts here as the website the user logs in is on the .net 1.1 framework and the website it it navigating to is .net 4.0.I have share the same machine-key across both the application . It works fine in my testing environment but as i move to the deployment server ,it just dosent work !So what i could do is read this article on MSDN :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/eb0zx8fc.aspx
this tells me to add a domin attribute like below
<forms loginUrl="~Login.aspx" defaultUrl="Default.aspx" protection="All" timeout="80" name=".ASPXAuth" domain="asbc.com"/>
but this thing just dosent work on the 1.1 application and throws an error Unrecognized attribute 'domain'.
Where do i get to mention the domin in my 1.1 application.?

I am looking for an implementation similar to that of what is seen on banking sites. If a user comes to the site I want them to have to pass some form of registration IE (answer a question or enter in some key). If the user closes the browser and comes back to the site again from that machine they would just be able to provide login credentails to get in.
I am not sure if this is accomplished in ASP.NET by a cookie or what type of implementation.
