Create MVC Update Address Bar With Ajax Link?

I'm trying to create an ajax-driven gallery where each photo in a sequence is loaded with an Ajax.Actionlink.
The user can get to any given photo by passing a parameter to the action method, eg: Gallery/Index?photo=100
The problem is that when the user is cycling through photos with the Ajax.Actionlink's the URL is no longer being updated (the way it would be during normal post-backs) so they can't copy paste from the address bar to get back to a photo.
My question is: what is the best way to solve this issue in ASP.NET MVC? One thing I was thinking of was updating the address bar with hashtags, but frankly I don't know if this is a good approach.

I use four different update panels, that use the same timer as trigger.
1) Will the 4 update panels create 4 different HTTP requests to the server?
2) I'm using 4 different panels as the controls are located in different parts of the page, is there a way of putting them in the same update panel?
3) Is this a good coding practice?

I had to move a WCF service (IIS hosted) to a new address. This service is called by a webforms web site on a different site in the same instance of IIS. I checked the WCF service is available and working by calling it directly from a browser.
I then did the following
updated the Service Reference folder in my consuming website updated the web.config servicemodel section (it was auto updated by changing the Service Reference) re-built and deployed libraries using the WCF service to the websites bin folder Stopped the consuming website in IIS and deleted files from Temporary ASP.NET Files folder Re-started IIS and deleted *ALL* files from Temporary ASP.NET files
When I browse to a page that calls the WCF service I get the error;
EndpointNotFoundException
There was no endpoint listening at <<Old endpoint address>> that could accept the message
How can I force my website to use the new WCF endpoint? Do I need to re-start the web server?

Is there a standard way to create unique web page address in ASP.NET? I'm sending surveys to customers and will be including a link to the web page. For example:
http://www.mysurveypages.foo/survey/UniqueID
I would then customize the survey based on who I sent it to. I know it can be done by passing in a unique parameter to a page but I curious about doing it this way.

I believe my SQL statement is sound. UPDATE [062610] SET abc = @abc FROM [062610] WHERE (dayID = @dayID) I cant seem to get my stupid variable @abc to sync with my GridView update command. I understand that I can let the GridView take care of my editting for me without having to write any code. But, I am running multiple tables and will be eventually needing to do this manually. Or at least as far as I know.
