Oct 28, 2010I just took at quick look at Tailspin Spyworks and I think I would like to try the project. However, I did some looking around within the project and also did some google search on "Tailspin Spyworks and Paypal" but didn't really find anything. What I would want is to have a product page that displays as Tailspin does. When the customer wants to checkout that it takes them to paypal and when the user is done in paypal I come back to my site and receive the PayPal "Instant Payment Notification". My two questions are:
1) Does the Tailspin project allow the use of the Paypal checkout?
2) If the answer to question is Yes, does the project cover the Instant Payment Notification also?

Do i have to purchase it first in any case or would it be possible to conduct sandbox testing using both direct payment and express checkout ? Nov 1, 2010 I was having trouble getting my shopping cart to connect to paypal. So I wrote a simple webform that has one button and one label. If I comment out the response.redirect(url) and look at the content that get written to Lable1.Text it looks find. Also, if I copy the content of the label and paste it into my web browser it goes to Paypal and displays correctly.
However, if I uncomment the response.redirect(url) I get the following error: ERROR: Unable to Send to PayPal - Thread was being aborted.
I am testing from localhost??? Should I be able to test this from localhost?
I have put ??? where my Sandbox email address is.....I don't know if letting other see that or not is an issue....otherwise I would have left it in for someone to try this code.

Jul 7, 2010The problem is that i go to my merchand sandbox account and create a simple buy it now button.
I stick the code in an aspx page.Ignoring any warnings, form problems etc etc.
So when i try to pay it just tells me to log in to the site and nothing happens.
And the reason i get mad is because when i try it with a paypal button it works and send me to paypal with the amount written above.
I tried when logged in on sandbox, i tried when logged in on sandbox and logged in as a seller.I tried i tried i tried....

Feb 14, 2010Using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express with what I'm assuming is Sql 2008 Express. Using SqlDataSource, when I try to configure a data source, I'm able to input a server name: (local)sqlexpress and the "Test Connection" button shows that it was successful. However, if I type in a new database table name and VWD 2008 asks if I would like to create it, I keep getting the message: "OBJECT REFERENCE NOT SET TO AN INSTANCE OF AN OBJECT." No idea what that means or how to fix it. I can't open theDatabase Explorer View.

Jan 20, 2011I am using the Visual Studio 2010 Express to create a web site.I created a database using SQL Express,but I decided to copy the mdf file to App_Data folder thinking I then might not need SQL Server running.I used the connection string that points to the database file in App_Data.
I deployed it to the server (Windows 2000 server with .Net 2.0 and SQL Server 2000) using Copy Web Site.I got the following error.An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.When connecting to SQL Server 2005,this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.(provider: SQL Network Interfaces,error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
My questions are
1. Do I still need SQL Server running even if I used a database in App_Data?
2. On the server SQL Server 2000 is running,why does the error say SQL Server 2005?
3. Are there anything that I have to consider beyond the version of Framework when deploying after development with VS 2010 (Framework 4.0)?

Mar 24, 2010I've used the WebPI to install SQL Server Express 2008 and VWD2008 SP1. I made sure to install SQL Server first then install VWD. Whenever i use VWD now though and try to add a new SQL Server Database to my website i get the error message "Connections to SQL Server Files (*.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005 to function properly."
I'm a little stuck as to where to proceed with this error. I've un-installed everything web development related and re-installed and still get the same error. I was under the impression that VWD2008 SP1 required SQL Server Express 2008 and wouldn't work with SQL Server Express 2005 so can't understand why it now wants it to be installed.
