I have a datagrid and vertical-horizontal scrollbars in it. now when datagrid will have more records , scoll bars will be provided. now when i scroll vertically , my header line of the datagrid is also scrolling so i wanna freeze it. i have used javascript to freeze it , its working in IE properly but there is problem with other browser.
i used this :[URL] but its not working in other browser.
I wanted to freeze the first few columns of the gridview. I tried so many technology that were not working Is it possible in asp.net Gridview ? How to possible ?
I have a GridView whose datasource is set programatically. The sorting is also handled in code via the OnSorting event of the GridView.Since I'm stuck in crappy dotnetnuke, I've had to change the doctype of the skin to XHTML Transitional so that the AjaxControlToolkit would work properly with IE.fter doing this, the sorting of this GridView stopped working... if I remove the doctype change file, it goes back to working again.I can tell that the event is firing, but it is now unable to find the underlying DataSource of the GridView to have something to sort. My OnSorting event follows; whenever it is fired, the "Data Source not Found" message is displayed.
I have a gridview and its contains 16 column. I would like to use the scrollbar in the gridview with Freezing first two columns and use the scrollbar to show remaining data..
I recently applied a javascript code from article "Dynamically freeze ASP.net Gridview header using Javascript" found here, ASP Snippets Article, to my page. The javascript works great, but somehow, it's overriding my CSS code for the headers. When I refresh the page, I can see the headers with my CSS in place for just a fraction of a second before it is replaced with generic styling. I am not a javascript person, so really can't troubleshoot the problem. I have a style sheet with the following code.
I have info from a couple of different tables that I need to be able to double click on a cell in a gridview and navigate to a couple of separate .aspx pages. Yesterday I learned how to use RowDataBound to get the name from a cell on a gridview to use in a delete confirmation dialoge box, and so am pretty sure I should be using this same RowDataBound, but I cant quite figure out where to start.
For example from the gridview below, I need to be able to double click in the "LoginIssue" field and navigate to an "EditLogin.aspx" page and subsequently be able to double click in the "ContractPath" and be able to navigate to a "ContractPath.aspx" page...or popup.
What am I missing here?I get the error Declaration Expected @ myPostData=
[Code]....
Dim encoding As New ASCIIEncoding() Dim RateXML As String = "123" 'Format the Data Dim myPostData As Byte() myPostData = encoding.GetBytes(RateXML) ^^^^^^^
Scenario: I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header. I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header
[Code]....
This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,
i want to know the detail about the doctype tag in the asp.net pagei was develop one web site i am using 2 css files in that one for my convience i delete the doctype tag in the page i am test it in firefox work fine .but the same code is not working properly in IE once we keep the doctype tag in the page then that is work fine in both borwsers what is this misactivity with that doctype tag.
i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).
I have a child table inside the cell of parent table. I want to stretch the child table so that i covers full space in the cell of parent table. Also i need to keep the DOCTYPE tag. how to achieve this.
In one of my stylesheet i am using @import url(.....css) to import external css in my .aspx page. When i include following doctype
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
the imported style sheet rules are not taking effect, but when i remove above doctype from .aspx page i could see the imported css in action. Is there any way to use above doc type with @improt CSS.
My application has been developed in .net 2.0 platformwith a masterpage which doesn't have 'doctype' and was working fine. Now i had to use modelpopup extender from the Ajax Control Tool Kit 1.0 version. when I use this the popup , it is coming up but the page in the IE shows that this page seems to be increased by indefinite size. I found the reason as it was due to 'Doctype' which is not there in the master page. Later i have added the doctype to my master page, now the popup and everything works fine but the page design has got changed.
way to detect from the server-side which DOCTYPE the page is specified as. I have some HTML and CSS in a custom WebControl that renders differently depending on which DOCTYPE the page is. Is there a Page property or a Response property I could check?
For some reason, when im making changes to .cs files in my project visual studio seems to freeze for a while, then kick back in. It doesn't happen when editing aspx files or their code behind, just files within the app code directory.
I'm wondering if its got something to do with the fact that most of the classes under app code are using the same namespace, where as the forms/controls i'm using aren't namespaced? Originally i thought it was lack of ram, but after putting 4 gig in it still freezes, it just doesn't lock the computer anymore :D
i would like to do column and row freezing in grid view. I am using asp.net 3.5 frame work. I freezed datagrid through this [URL] link thread. But i could not freeze gridview. I want to freeze firse column and first row of the grid view.
I recently purchased a new laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). I installed Visual Web Developer 2008 Express using the Microsoft Web Platform Installer. When I open a .aspx file within one of my websites VWD immediately freezes. The program will not respond and I have to use the task manager to force it to shut. This happens every time.
I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing VWD but the problem still occurs. However if I open another type of file in a website, say a .css or .xml file the problem does not occur. It seems to happen only when I open a .aspx file. Has anyone else come across this?
