View 3 RepliesI am not sure if I have found the right forum for this one.
the problem is:
I have a .licx file in my rootfolder.
I am getting the error:
Error 53 Unable to resolve type ' <add type="TabStrip" version="7.0" />' C:inetpubwwwrootCrop_ApplicationCrop_Applicationeo_web.licx 7 Crop_Application
,which I get for all the types that are in the xml file(i just gave one of them).
A friend told me that I have to add the type .licx in the MIME type in the IIS .
The problem is that I find the MIME type, I add the extension type .licx but I do not know the MIME type for .licx
I'm new to Borland C++ Builder and the application that I'm working on has to be launched from a ASP.net application on click of a button. That ASP.net application is able to launch other EXEs (made in C#) but when my application is launched it crashes immediately with a msg "an error has is encountered, tell microsoft about this problem" with button "Don't Send" "Send error report" and "debug". The ASP.net program is able to call "notepad.exe" which is probably not written on .net.
So, how do I call an application from ASP.net/c# which written in Borland C++ Builder and is launching successfully when I double click the application.

I have to implement facebook login and also want to get logged in user's information like birthday,firstname, Email address.

i am developing application in ASP.Net (C#).
How can i get user information.
I am in charge of converting an ASP.NET web application into fully AJAX based application. I know Javascript and Jquery very well.
Initially I thought to point every anchor tag's click event to JS function and to call stuff via ajax and to populate the body and so on. I encountered a problem when it came to ASP.NET Form on every page and when there was need to make a post-back. I decided to point every Form tag's onSubmit event to a JS function to post stuff using ajax and to get results and I got to know this is not possible with ASP.NET as every time where is a button click, there will be post back so it's hard to let page know what button was clicked.
I then decided to use ASP.NET built-in AJAX controls to use with Forms which is pretty easy and worked like the way they should. Now I am stuck with the question of which I should go with?I like to be JS way because it's more customizable than AJAX.NET.
In your opinion, what's the best way to create the server side to a pure Javascript application with ASP.NET? WCF rendering JSON? IHttpHandler? Update Like GMail, that runs in the browser (with a lot of Javascript) and submit and receive data with Ajax, for example.

I am developing a site which includes several different javascript files and libraries. For optimization purposes I have implemented YUI Compressor for .Net
This will minimize and combine my javascript files into one single file.
Now I have put this up in a MSBuild script that automatically does the compression and minimization and outputs it to a file of my choosing. However, I still wish to keep the original javascript files in my development environment. My question is simply:
Is there a good way to depending on the Debug setting for example choose which javascript to use? This to not have to change the MasterPage by hand each time I release the build.
Allow me to illustrate.
If I am running in Debug="true" I wish my MasterPage to include the following javascripts:
<script type="text/javascript" src="first.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="second.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="third.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="fourth.js"></script>
If I am running in Debug="false" I wish this to be outputted in the MasterPage:
<script type="text/javascript" src="compressedAndMinimized.js"></script>
Where is the best place to store a javascript file in my website?
Should they be stored in the App_Code folder allong with C# files or should I create a dedicated folder in the root of the website? Or are there any other options?
how to display the 'successfully saved' message box in asp.net web application by using javascript.
View 4 RepliesRecently I have upgraded my app from .net 2.0 to 4.0. By running application under .net 4.0 I get one strange behaviour. Whenever application throw any error, instead of displaying it in browser with call stack, the error is shown in the browser's error window as javascript error and the whole web page remain as it is. is it feature of .net 4.0 or I need to do some settings to display error in web page.
View 3 RepliesWhen ever user tries to open an application other than mozilla(fire fox) or IE browser , we need to alert the user telling him please open the application in IE or Firebox browser. And the browser which he has opened the application should stop and we should not close the browser in which he has opened
Ex : like other browser ( google crome, opera )
So first I need to check which browser are they running the application based on that I need to send an alert message.
i have implemented an image preloader using javascript inside my mvc 2 web app, in order to display an animated "loading" image .gif while sequentially displaying page images.I have also implemented caching using a cache profile for the controller action that displays the specific page ([OutputCache(CacheProfile = "LongCache")]).The problem is that the image preloader javascript is called when caching is applied. I was wondering whether i could, somehow, use the image preloader code only when the page gets refreshed and not when the cached version is rendered.
View 2 RepliesI have an asp.net (FW 3.5) web app that runs on an internal network. One specific page needs to "report" in to the web server that it is active and not locked up. I need to be able to run a script (or something) at the client to report the pc's computer name in that report. I cannot find a method that does this. I found several things that would report the WAN IP or host name, but this appears to all be for external facing sites.
View 1 RepliesThe following code is being used to disable a Submit button once it has been clicked. This works great on desktop browsers and most BlackBerry mobile browsers.
Submit.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript:this.disabled=true;" +
ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(Submit, null));
when using a BlackBerry Storm clicking the submit button causes the device to just reload the page. If I remove this code the Storm browser submits the page just fine. I need to disable the button when the browser is capable of doing so but do not want to affect browsers that are not JavaScript capable.
I need to get the mime types in an IIS7 environment. They should be in:
<configuration>
<system.webServer>
<staticContent>
<mimeMap...
As I understand it, in IIS7 if I can get to it I should see both custom additions in my web.config as well as the mime types defined in the IIS manager at the machine level.
I don't understand how to get to this data. I have messed with the configurationmanager but I am not getting anywhere. I can get a section names system.webServer but I don't see any of the actual data as colleciton of properties or as xml.
I am working on ASP.NET Ajax site. Application is working fine when I run in my local machine, but same code if I place in Server then it is giving "SpanID is undefined" Javascript error. I found error is due to UI.dll file.
