The Code above is not working. How do I display the request id without touching the code behind file?

How can I pass a paramator to another page without using Session variables or passing the Querysting in the URL?

Compiler Error Message: CS0103: The name 'Request' does not exist in the current context.
I'm not sure if this is because I haven't imported the correct namespace or I need to declare out with the current class?

I have an asp.net application and in the UI I have a jquery plugin called growel. When I detect that someone have changed their account (code behind) I need to call the jquery plugin to display but this is on the client side. But how is this possible, I cant call jquery from code behind code (C#), has anyone a workaround or am i missing something.

View 1 RepliesI have a virtual web folder that has large number of PDF Files (Leave Forms) submitted over the past 5 years.
The users and other applications have direct references to such files and on some cases, the PDF is referenced as embedded object.
Here is a snapshot of where the PDFs are stored:

Becuase the PDFs are stored under a folder under the ASP.NET Web Application, it was a bad idea.
Now, I have to move them all to another location which is simply a virtual folder outside the Web Application.
All Leave PDF Forms have Unique URLs which is:
"SessionID" + "/" + "Leave-userid-start-date.pdf"
So, I need to replace the above link with the following after I move the PDF Files. I want the replacement to happen at the time it is requested from the Client Browser. The new URL will look like the following:

So, whether it is requester from IE from any other Object Tag or similar, then the input URL should be replaced with the new URL as shown above.

I have my own SQL based session class. I want to automatically commit the data in the session at the end of program execution (i.e. at the end of serving the page request). Do object destructors (finalizers) not get executed at the end of every request? Is there anyway of doing this instead of having to explicitly call a Dispose() method every time I am done with my session object?

User will click a product link, its id will be passed to server side where image will be generated, returned to client side and displayed. All this is to be done asynchronously.
I thought to call a call web method, but what web method will return ?

I am working on a page where we have a form that the user is filling some information in. When the form is submitted I want to process the information and then redirect to an external server. The catch is that I need post data to go to the external server so a redirect will not work.
Is there a way to programmatically submit a form request with post data?
For the sake of a ridiculous example let's say on http://A.com I have an asp.net page with two inputs that accept numbers and a submit button. When the button is clicked I want to send a post to http://B.com with a post data parameter "AdditionTotal" which contains the sum of the two numbers entered.
Im dynamically generating an HTML Select Box, lets call it myselect. Im creating this select box based on some database values Im generating an HTML Select Box.. almost like a string that Im just spitting out to the page. So it's never a control in the codebehind, just part of a string thats rendered as HTML by the browser. If I submit my form, and in my codebehind I perform:

That code will give me the VALUE of the myselect select box. How can I refer to this control to cast it as a System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlSelect control? Request.Form seems to give me the value, but I want to reference the object itself..
I hav button on a page. click on it and it works on local system. when i deploy on server. code seems not working. I receive a 'request failed' and truest level error. method even contains 1 simple stmt of 'exit sub'. it's not happening on other pages.
View 3 RepliesI'm using CRv9 and want to make use of Google Charts API for generating QR code on fly (in asp .net) and display it in the Crystal Report in a PDF format.I have spent the whole day looking for solution with no luck. The way we output the report is we use .rpt file, feed it with data and use Response.OutputStream to feed to browser. No CrystalReportViewer control hence CSS solution is not an option.
Now, I got as far as added an OLE Object from file with Link, which I would be overwriting every time the new QR code is generated. I apreciate that CR requires it to be a bitmap, so I was planning to download and convert the google's generated PNG file to BMP, that's not an issue. The problem is that Image in the report does not update after I replace the file. Meaning, it displays the original image, which was added as an OLE Object.
If I open this report in CR designer, the image gets refresh/updated and I'd have to save changes to the report to see this new image next time I generate a PDF file.The question is really how to achieve a dynamic image in Crystal Reports 9? Remember, Picture object did not have a Graphic Location property until vXI, so I cannot use that.
Manipulations with DataSets is not an option either as we're not giving report a datasource, instead we just map the fields with FormulaFieldDefinitions.

GetPrograms() method will return almost 6000 records. to load the control it is taking almost 4 minuts..
I have a drop down in an ASP.NET page. Whenever the value of the drop down changes an ASP.NET AJAX request is made to the server. I also attached a jQuery "change" event handler to that list to execute some code when the value is changed. So, probably two different event handlers are being attached to the same drop down, and it's causing some problems, i.e., sometimes wrong drop down values are sent to the server. I don't know why is this happening but I think attaching two different event handlers to a same drop down may be the reason.
Can anyone tell me what is the problem here? If what I guessed is true, then is there any other way to execute some custom javascript code before asp.net AJAX request is sent ?
I have a form that I have been getting submissions that have punctuation and special characters that trigger the potentially dangerous Request.Form value error. I have been trying use the httpUtility.htmlencode and Server.htmlencode method to sanitize textboxes and textareas.All my tests do not fire because the built-in request validation of the 4.0 framework prevents the code-behind from executing to perform the sanitization. I have included the ValidateRequest in the page header but no matter what I set it too it still does the same thing.
This is the code I have so far.

i'm just getting started with asp.net and ajax. My question is : is it possible to make an ajax request and simulate the server response in the code behind. in other words can the request be sent to the code behind of the same page? if it's possible haw can i perform this ?

I have a page posting data to me via HTTP POST. What i want is write posted data into mp4 video format file. Here my code how to write that file:

My problem is that i got the file, but it's corrupt when playback. Is there any problem with my stream or i missing some decode for mp4 file?
I'm missing a the code browser when I create pages that have the code not placed in a seperate file. For pages with .asp.vb files I get the browser correctly.
I think it's called a code browser but just in case it's not I mean the dropdown that shows Page Events, Buttons and other controls that can be selected along with their events.
How do I turn on those dropdowns for pages with code behind that uses <script> tags in the actual .aspx page?
