what free lightweight report component for asp.net are out there. Crystal report is not welcomed and we would like to avoid using heavy ObjectDatasource. What sould I learn first (may be asp page life cycle) and what are time proven free analog of ReportViewer for asp is out there.

View 5 RepliesMembership/Role/Profile providers API appeared in early days of asp.net Nearly everytime I can't live with standard API & have to add some extra functionality (for sorting, retrieving e.t.c.). I also have to use different database structure often (with foreign key to some tables for example) or think about performance improvements.
These considerations forced teams I took part in to build own providers but I can't stand to implement providers API (because we don't use 70% of standard functionality at least). Moreover, providers that were built for exact projects were rarely reused.
I wonder if someone found swiss-knife early-days-API providers implementation that is usefull for any kind of project without refactoring. Or do you use your own implementations of early-days-API's Or may be you abandon standard architecture and use lightweight implementations?
I am trying to create a new user and set their password in AD LDS using asp.net vb. I'm binding to an instance of a directory entry, which is working fine. And I can add a user without a problem. The problem is that I can't seem to set the password when I add the user. Is this the right way to set the password?

I am trying to stop the data flow when certain conditions happen in the script component. Like if a row in the data set has an invalid date, I dont want that dataset to be inserted in the tables or go through OLEDB Destination, rather I want the entire data flow for that dataset to stop and go back to the control flow page.
I have tried mulitple solutions but nothing worked. Conditional Split ends up inserting the correct rows, but I just dont want anyting to be inserted when one row is bad, where as I do want the entire dataset to be inserted if all rows are good.
How can I fail the component when certain conditions happen int eh script component.
I would like to know how can I list for every page (child page) selected the number and id of localize component in the current page. subreport have Page Header.
when i Independently run subreport it show Page Header,

We have some reports that are loaded on a asp.net webpage via the localreport.render() and a request has come in to hide a logo image if it is displayed inline as html on the page and only show the image if it's rendered as a pdf.
is there any way to determine the render mode in the report so i can create an expression to set the display property to hidden for the logo image if it's not pdf mode?
I have an ASP.Net (.Net 2.0) application that creates Crystal Reports (version 11.5) and shows them with CrystalReportViewer control. For some reason the control isn't showing the logo image in the header of the report. It renders the following html

I have some reports that I was using in SQL reporting services. Extensions are .rdl and want to get them to work with VS 2008.
I copied the rdl files and the .rdl.data files over to VS 2008 (SP1) project but when I go to select the report in the control it does not see the file (I assume it is looking for a .rdlc file)
I tried rename the file to .rdlc and loaded the file up and got
