Getting And Saving (uploading) The File In FileUpload Component?
Sep 22, 2010
I have a question about saving an image file with it's thumbnail in vb.net.
I used the following code :
If resim.PostedFile.ContentLength > 100 And resim.PostedFile.ContentLength < 10000000 And resim.PostedFile.ContentType.IndexOf("application") = -1 Then
I am using the fileupload control to upload an excel file to a server, but I am getting a "Access to the path '\<server>importResponses.xls' is denied" when I try to use fileUploader.SaveAs(filepath). The filepath I use is \<server>importResponses.xls, so I am actually saving it to a share on a different server. My environment consists of a web server and a database server. I am trying to upload the excel file to a share on the database server. A stored procedure then takes that excel file and imports the data from it into a table. So the problem isn't with being unable to save a file to a share on the web server, but it's a problem with being unable to save a file to a share on the database server. It used to work, but now it doesn't and I have no idea why. What process(es) on the database server do I need grant write access for in order for the fileupload control to successfully save the excel file?Right now, I only have the Network Service account with read/write access to the share on the database server. I tried adding other accounts, such as the ASPNET and IUSR_<server name> accounts, but nothing seems to work. The web application that does the actual uploading is configured like this:
Could that have anything to do with it?If you're asking why I'm trying to save an excel file on the database server instead of on the web server, this was the only way I got this to work. If anyone has a better suggestion on how to programatically import excel data into a SQL table, I am all ears.
I am uploading an excel file ( containing int values )using the fileupload control. I need to work on one entire column in the excel sheet.I want to copy contents of the file either in an array or a table and then work on it.Can anybody suggest a better way of working on the excel since .
according below thread I change file name when users upload from file upload control:
[URL]
below is my code that I changed if(this.fuppdf.HasFile) { string path = Server.MapPath(".") + "../image/House/article/pdf";
[Code]....
if file name be duplicate it add 1 at the first of file name but here it doesn't  work I mean when I upload file i.e catalog.pdf ("catalog is the text in txttitle) it saves in the  host with this name catalog.pdf
but when again I want upload catalog.pdf in host it overwrite last (catalog.pdf) but I want if there was catalog.pdf file it saves with this name 1catalog.pdf in host
I'd like to allow users to upload a .pdf file via the file upload control (if that's the best method), save the file to the db and then retrieve it so they can click on a link and open the .pdf they've uploaded. I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do this but keep running into methods of saving the file directly on the server in a directory, not in SQL server (using Linq and VB by the way)
In my application Im saving multiple files(image, pdf, txt) to a folder. Suppose I have an image with name "image1", if this image already exists in the folder and if another user tries to add another image with the same name "image1" then, it should give message to change the File name.
I had used below code:
string filePath = DamRep_FileUpload.PostedFile.FileName; string filename = Path.GetFileName(filePath); string contenttype = String.Empty; if (contenttype != String.Empty) { if (File.Exists("~/FTP/File/"))
I have a table with a varbinary(MAX) column. I want to use the FileUpload control to save the file directly there by a stored procedure. How do you do it without using SaveAs to create a temporary file first?
I creating a page where our clients can view advertising images and then able to download the images in different file formats. So I need the images and the different download types all saved into the same row in the database so that when I go to display them on the page when they select a picture the right download links will be there. So here where my problem comes in, I don't know how to code it so that I can insert mulitiple file paths into the database at once. The images are saved in a table called images. The downloads are saved in a table called Image Downloads.
Here is the code for the page I have it coded to submit the images to the database but not sure how to add the rest. I have got three different sql datasources for each table not sure if that's the way to go.
I have written some script to upload a file from my local PC to an FTP Location.I have a FileUpload Control on my Page and an Upload Button, when the upload button is clicked the following script is run:
Imports System Imports System.Net Imports System.IO
I have been messing around with uploading working with and then saving a resulting image.
However at the moment im getting errors in the outputted image, even with very simple code which takes the filebase, puts it into an image object then saves it back out.
Also i would like to know if there is a method in MVC to check the file extension or somehow determine wether it is an image file.
I've got a project that's going to go on a dedicated server environment. I'll be uploading images to the server, but saving them outside of the virtual folder path of the actual website, like so:
Now, this works fine on my home computer. Is there anything I'll need to do with IIS or ASP.NET (possibly in web.config) for this to work properly on a production machine? Settings or permissions that may need changing?...
It will be on Window 2003 with IIS6 and ASP.NET 3.5 SP1.
I use file upload control.........and below this there is upload button which include programming to upload file.........
It is working fine for file size of less than 2mb but when i pick file of 5 mb(say) and i click on file upload button or any other button then outcome is
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
I placed break point on upload button but control doesn't go their..........
I'm trying to use an asp:FileUpload Control to allow users to upload files (.doc, .gif, .xls, .jpg) to a server that is outside of our DMZ and not the Web Server. We want to have the ability to look at these files for viruses, structure, etc prior to saving them into another directory that would allow access to outside users. From what I have read about this control is that it will allow for files to be uploaded to the web server. Can this control be used to upload files to a server other than the web server? If it can be done where should I look for this type of functionality or how do I force it to go to https:servernamefolder name (Where server name is not the web server)? Would I have to read the file then write it to the other server?
My Development Server has: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit IIS 7.5 ASP.Net 4.0
When I attempt to upload 1 file under 4mb, everything works wonderful When I attempt to upload 1, 2 or 3 files with a total size under 4mb, everything works wonderful When I attempt to upload 1 file, over 4mb or When I attempt to upload 1, 2, or 3 files that total over 4mb, a problem arises! And Continue to read and not assume it's just my Web.Config file, for I did attempt to set the maximum upload size to higher than 4mb, a copy of my Web.Config is included below!
Here is my Problem:
I have a need to upload 3 Files, 1 File being a .jpg file and the other 2 files will be .mp3 files. If I try to upload 1 file that is over 4mb or if the sum of the 3 files is over 4mb, I get a> The Regular Debug Message:

I have a FileUpload control in an UpdatePanel and when user select a file, the full file path will will be stored in a hiddenfield, and during postback, i would like to assign the full file path in the hiddenfield back to the FileUpload control textbox, possible to achieve that?
I am experiencing the following page error when trying to use the FileUpload control on my web page to upload files larger than 3MB or so. The error is as follows:"Problem loading page The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."I suspect this may be due to a timout issue. If so, how can I increase the timeout period for this control / process? I am coding in VB.NET.
I am trying to stop the data flow when certain conditions happen in the script component. Like if a row in the data set has an invalid date, I dont want that dataset to be inserted in the tables or go through OLEDB Destination, rather I want the entire data flow for that dataset to stop and go back to the control flow page.
I have tried mulitple solutions but nothing worked. Conditional Split ends up inserting the correct rows, but I just dont want anyting to be inserted when one row is bad, where as I do want the entire dataset to be inserted if all rows are good.
How can I fail the component when certain conditions happen int eh script component.
